An Easter Card in a Box

I made a card in a box for my husband
for Easter.  So fun to make!

It was easy to do following one of the many tutorials out there.  This one folds to an A2 size card.  Actually, it's a little shorter at 5" because I thought the flaps were too long so I shortened them.

And look at these great eggs I found to put in my husband's and daughter's baskets.  I think they're a scream!

It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Maryland, temps at 60 degrees.

Happy Easter everyone!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge

This is fun!

A Tic Tac Toe Challenge at
Die Cuttin' Divas this week.

Here is the board.

I went diagonally, left to right...
Bunnies, pastels, ribbon

These little bunnies make me smile.  They are all My Creative Time dies, along with the sentiment stamp.  I cut the tag and used an MCT edge die for the scalloped edge.  Applied some ric-rac, a punched sun, and ribbon.

Hope you'll play along at Die Cuttin' Divas this week and enter your card, layout, or altered project into our challenge.  Be sure to include a die-cut, telling us what it is, and link your post back to the DCD web site.  We look forward to seeing what you create.

Thanks for hopping by!

Pastel Colors Challenge

Hi, so glad you stopped by!

This week at Die Cuttin' Divas, the challenge is...
Pastel Colors.

I recently bought these patterned Pastel papers by Core'dinations.  Aren't they pretty!?  Just perfect for this challenge.  I cut a lot of pieces because I wanted to use a variety of patterns and colors.  On the one hand, I hated cutting a new piece for a little butterfly, but on the other hand, why have the paper if I'm not going to use it!?  You know what I mean, I'm sure!!

The other "new" recent purchase I used was My Creative Time's Hello Chickie die and stamp set.  Isn't that little chick so adorable?

Here's the card opened. It's actually a birthday card with a springtime/Easter theme.

I even covered the back this time because my card base was white, and since it's so easy to do with this Sizzix flip-it die.

Hope you'll join in the color challenge this week.  Use pastels in your card, layout or altered project and be sure to use a die cut.  Link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas blog.  We hope to see you there!

Thanks for visiting me today.

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #107

Hi Everyone!

It's time for another Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge.

This week, we want you to...
use a bunny!

I used Nate's ABC's cart to create this Easter card.  It's an A2 sized card covered with a blue polka dot print from DCWV Stack 7.  I had the kraft oval in my stash so I embossed it with Musical Flourish Cuttlebug folder.  I cut the bunny at 3-1/2" with its layers.  Added some foam eggs and bling, and cut the Happy Easter from an older DCWV stack called Seasons.  I think it turned out kind of cute for a quick Easter card.

Our sponsor for this challenge is...

We hope you'll join us for the challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. You'll have one week to enter your card, layout, or altered project.  Please remember to include which die cut you used and provide a link back to our site.

We look forward to seeing what you create!

Easter Card for My Daughter

Here's an Easter card I made for my daughter.

This is a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card.  I papered the front with patterned paper from my stash.  I think this sheet was bought singly from Joann's last year.  The egg was cut from Art Philosophy at 4-1/2", embossed with Cuttlebug Victoria folder, and inked.  The little girl is cut from A Child's Year at 4" w/shadow.

My daughter is 23 now, but this reminds me of years past when she would hunt for Easter eggs with her cousins.

Challenges I'm entering:
My Craft Spot - Easter
Scrappy Moms - Easter
More than Favors - Easter/Spring

Peachy Keen Challenge #50

I wanted to enter the Peachy Keen Challenge; it's their 50th one, and I also needed to make a card for my hubby for Easter.  So here's the card I made for both reasons.  For the challenge, you need to follow the PK sketch and include something metallic.

This is a 4.5x6.25 card.  I cut the white layer at 4.25x6 and embossed it with Diamond Plate cuttlebug.  The scalloped circle was cut from Accent Essentials at 3.5 and the bunny face was cut from Doodlecharms at 3.5.  I really like this bunny face stamped with the Peachy Keen eyes.  I used a metallic brad for the nose and drew in the mouth.  Cut the eggs at 1.75 real dial size (not sure why I had to use that feature but if I didn't, they were cutting at 1/2" or less).  Patterned paper and then solid paper was used for the shadow of the eggs but it didn't really seem to shadow, or maybe it was so slight, you couldn't tell.  Used some Easter ribbon and popped everything up.  The stamp was from Michael's $1.00 bin from last year.  I really like the inside sentiment (2 of them actually), also from $1.00 bin.  Thanks for looking!

"Hippity Hoppity, Happy Easter Day!"

Here's a simple Easter card I made that I can enter in several challenges.  First, how I did it:

The bunny is cut at 4" from Create a Critter.  I stamped her face with Peachy Keen Everyday Character Faces (well at least the eyes, I drew in the nose and mouth because I don't have the Critter Faces stamps yet).  Isn't she cute?!  Popped her up a bit on thin foam squares.  The yellow paper is from K&Co baby girl matstack, and the green is from Heidi Grace.  Added some white ribbon and 3 soft purple brads.  The stamp is from Michael's dollar bin.  The card size is 6.25 x 4.5.  I rounded all the corners.  On the inside, I used the same green patterned paper and topped it with the yellow paper punched with the MS doily punch.  What do you think?

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #56 - use a bunny or chick
Wacky Wednesday Challenge #35 - Easter theme
     Sentimental Sundays Challenge #57 - Spring/Easter
Picture Perfect Creations Special Challenge #6 - Easter
My Sheri Crafts Challenge #53 - bunnies

Thanks for looking, and everyone have a HAPPY EASTER!!

An Easter Card

Here's an Easter Card I made that I'm also entering into two challenges:  Paper Cutz Challenge #86 (use a bunny, lamb, chick, or Easter eggs) and Cricut Cardz Challenge #69 (an Easter project).

This is an A2 card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2").
The bunny is cut from Just Because cards (3-3/4" Real Dial size) and I made the "patchwork quilt" paper from my pink patterned scraps.  Jessica at Chick-n-Scrap has instructions on how to do this.
Cut a bright pink mat (4" x 5-1/4") using Post-It Craft Paper (w/adhesive).  That was nice & easy to work with!  You should try it if you haven't yet.
The next layer is 3-3/4" x 5" using light pink and blue cardstock (embossed with Swiss Dots) to make this size.
Applied Easter ribbon (that I won from Carri) between the 2 mats.
Used a flower punch for the flower with a little bling, and a pink petal-shaped gem for the bunny's eye.

Thanks for stopping by.
