Autumn Colours at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Hello and welcome to another fun
Saturday Challenge
at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

I'm the hostess for this week's theme,
AUTUMN COLOURS!

I actually pulled out one of our winter stamps to use for this autumn challenge...I've always loved the versatility of our stamps! I selected the adorable raccoon from POLAR PALS and stamped him in TOTALLY TAUPE INK on Arches cold pressed watercolour paper. The entire scene was painted in watercolours. This little guy is normally holding a snowball, but I painted it as an apple and added a stem to fit with our theme.

Each Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week. You are welcome to enter as many times as you like with a new creations. You are welcome to use any stamp, however using Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and products will earn you double entries.  Each submission will enter you into the monthly draw of a $40 gift voucher to the krafty shop!

Also don't miss our FRUGAL FRIDAY SPECIALS There is a selection of our fabulous clear stamp sets on SALE 40% OFF only for the weekend and only while supplies last!

Here's the list for the Krafty team members who also have autumn creations to share:

Harvest Blessings...A Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Krafty Scrappy Challenge!

Hey krafty friends! Welcome to the monthly Krafty Scrappy Challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! For this challenge, we want to you stretch your creativity beyond the comfort zone of cards...no cards allowed!! There are so many options for your submission...create a scrapbook layout, a planner page, a tag, an altered item, gift packaging...so many options!

Here's a run down of the rules:

  1. Create any project!! (remember, NO CARDS!) Theme: Anything Goes!
  2. Your project must be new (created on or after this post date).
  3. Your project must feature a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp.
  4. You have a month to submit over at the challenge blog....and you can submit as many times as you wish!
  5. We must have at least 5 entries. One random winner will be chosen at the end of the submission period.
  6. Don't forget to pop on over the the KKS facebook page to share your creation as well!

I pulled out one of our new August stamp sets called Harvest Blessings and created a tag.  I used all three pumpkins from the set and stamped them on various design paper (pretty sure this pad was from Simple Stories, although the lightest pumpkin was from Authentique). Shading was added with Copic markers. The pumpkins were fussy-cut and positioned in a little group on my tag. The sentiment is also from the stamp set.  The "Fall" banner at the top is actually part of the design paper...I just fussy-cut the banner segments and glued them onto the tag. All paper edges were distressed with ink and scissors.  Note: One of the pumpkins in this set has a cute little kitty peeking out from behind. Since I just wanted the pumpkins for this tag, I simply selectively inked only the pumpkin portion of the stamp.

Hope you plan to play along! For more scrappy inspiration, make sure to check out the challenge blog!

Blessings,

Melanie

The Fall Flora Fairies Collection at SCACD

Good morning friends! Are you ready for some SCACD excitement??

Today we're introducing you to a brand new set of adorable stamps from the SCACD Stamp Co. called "The Fall Flora Fairies Collection". There are four cute little fairies in this set and they are available exclusively at SCACD, and of course at Quixotic Paperie if you're in the UK.

Today I am sharing a card featuring one of these fairies. This is Annie Oak Leaf...she's so sweet in all her autumn glory! The papers are from Basic Grey Pyrus. I added a little swirl cut with my Spellbinders Doodle Parts, a few Viva Decor Pearls (Dark Brown), a scrap of ribbon and a couple of dollar store leafs. The "Autumn Blessings" sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps (Thankful Sentiments).

Annie Oak Leaf was stamped on Strathmore Bristol Smooth with Memento Ink and coloured with Copic markers. This was another experiment with a new paper...not super crazy about it to be honest. The ink doesn't blend very easily on this one, but thought I'd give it a whirl. (plus, a Michael's just opened up here last weekend and they had the paper pads on sale!) I'll try the paper again sometime soon, but I'm thinking it's going to be a new sketchpad instead. Her wings were given a coat of Stardust Stickles and the leaf she is holding was treated to a little Smooch Illuminate.

(my apologies, but I don't have a colour list this time)

For more inspiration featuring The Fall Flora Fairies Collection, please visit the SCACD Store Blog Follow Your Heart where you will find a list of links to the lovely design team members sharing projects today.

***SNEAK PEEK ALERT*** While you are visiting the Store Blog, make sure to check out the details of another sneak peek of our upcoming release featuring Sylvia Zet for SCACD...and a little birdie tells me there just may be some BLOG CANDY!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I  hope you all have a wonderful day. :)

Blessings,

Melanie

Kraftin' Kimmie January Release Blog Hop!!

Good morning friends! Have you enjoyed all the sneak peeks over the last few days? Today is the day that you can get your inky fingers on all the brand new January stamps at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps...and what a release it is this month! My word, Kimmie has put together a HUGE release to ring in the new year...a total of 16 stamps!! She has six new stamps from Annie Rodrigue (each comes with a matching sentiment and accessory stamp), five new stamps from Steven Leary (two come with a matching sentiment) and five final stamps from past Krafty artist Crissy Armstrong!

As always, we are celebrating the official release day with a blog hop! Joining Kimmie and the Krafty Girls on the hop today are our amazing January Krafty Guests (who have been absolutely rockin' this release!!), all three very talented artists and our lovely Junior Krafty Girls. The hop starts over on the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Blog where you will find a complete list of the blog hop participants. Make sure to visit each blog on the hop, and don't forget to leave a comment at every stop...if you do, you just may be the lucky winner of a package of brand new January stamps!!

If you've been hopping along, you should have arrived here after visiting with the lovely and talented Michele Boyer...wasn't her card stunning?? It's ok to admit if you drooled over it a bit...I always do when I visit her blog! lol (If not, just hop over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Blog to start the hop at the beginning...where you'll also find a complete list of links to the blog hop participants.)

For my card today, I chose to work with another beautiful gal from the pen of artist Annie Rodrigue. This is "Andrea Acorn"...isn't she gorgeous??!! I know this is completely out of season, but her acorn attire was just calling for some autumn colours! I pulled out these pretty fall papers from The Paper Loft. The crocheted trim is from the dollar store...sadly, they don't seem to be carrying this anymore. Actually, they are not carrying a lot of the little "treasures" I liked to buy from there...including the pearls on my card. (I've not been able to find any new packs of ivory pearls for AGES.) Guess I'm going to have to break the budget and start buying them elsewhere! The bow was tied with the assistance of my Bow Easy...I never tie a bow without it!

"Andrea Acorn" was stamped on Neenah Smooth cardstock and coloured with Copic markers. After cutting her out, I popped her up on that gorgeous autumn leaves paper cut with one of my newest sets of Spellbinders, Labels 4. (This set was a Christmas gift from my best friend Amanda!!)

Copics: Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20 Hair: E50, Y21, Y26, YR31, E31, E33, E37, E59 Dress: YR00, YR02, YR04, YR07, E08, C5, C9 Cape: G20, G82, G85, C5, C9

As with ever release day blog hop, I have a very special guest joining me here on Paper Blessings...my daughter and Junior Krafty Girl Ainsleigh!! Ainsleigh chose to work with "Abigail Apple" for her card today. I'm loving the bright and cheery paper from Echo Park that Ainsleigh used, and the sentiment comes with Abigail Apple. (she also comes with a co-ordinating accessory stamp) Ainsleigh added some Stardust Stickles to the Prima flowers and Abigail's hair bows. She also used a few dollar store pearls for accents.

I'm kind of hoping I might be the lucky recipient of Ainsleigh's card...it's GORGEOUS!!!

After you have completed the blog hop, make sure to head on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Online Store and place your order for the new January Stamps!! For those of you who "need" the entire release, Kimmie will be offering her "Gimmie Kimmie's Kits" for a limited time. There are three different kits (one for each artist) that include all the January stamps...and these kits are being sold at a discounted price!!

Time for me to send you off to visit with Jeanne Streiff...just wait until you see what she has created!! Her work is always so inspiring. :)

Don't forget to leave those comments along the way folks...you just may be the lucky winner of some brand new January stamps!!

Blessings friends...and happy hopping!

Kraftin' Kimmie September Sneak Peeks: Round 2!!

(I have THREE posts scheduled for today! LOL...hope you're not sick of me yet! Feel free to scroll back for posts from The Town Scrapper and from Wags 'n Whiskers!)

LOL..is there a limit on number of blog posts you're allowed to have in one day??? It's been a busy morning here on my blog, as I had to have three posts go live at different times. Thank goodness Blogger allows us to schedule our posts!

As mentioned, this is my third post for today, and it is for the upcoming September release at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps on this Sunday!! As always, Kimmie has a great lineup of brand new stamps and I know you're going to love each and every one! Yesterday, I showed you a card featuring two of the new stamps by artist Steven Leary. Today, I have another cutie-patootie Miles the Mouse stamp to show you...introducing "Cornucopia Miles"!

Our little pal Miles certainly seems to love his food...just look at that belly! I stamped the image on Neenah cardstock and coloured him with Copic markers. I used a cross-hatching stroke to give a bit of texture to the cornucopia. The papers are from The Paper Loft. I love these patterns and thought I'd just go with a very clean and simple layout so as not to cover up those fabulous fall leaves. The paper edges were all sponged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, and the little pearls are from the dollar store. Oh, and that great little "Happy Feasting!" sentiment is part of the brand new "Thankful Sentiments" set that will also be released this Sunday!

Copics: Miles: E50, E41, E42, E43, E47 Cornucopia: E50, E31, E33, E35, E37, E25, E59 Apples: R17, R59, YR31, YG00, YG11, YG28 Additional shading done with Conte crayons (after all colouring with Copics was complete...very important so that you do not ruin your marker nibs!)

You know the drill stampers...hop on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Blog for links to the sneak peeks for today by the other Krafty Girls and our wonderfully talented Krafty Guests.

I hope to see you back tomorrow for our weekly challenge. I'll have another sneak peek featuring one of Kimmie's brand new Annie Rodrigue stamps. Then of course, we have our release day Blog Hop planned for this Sunday!

Have a wonderful Friday, and thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,

Melanie
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps "Cornucopia Miles" and "Thankful Sentiments"

I decided to colour Nichola in autumn colours and paired her up with some pretty papers from Daisy Buckets. Heartfelt Thanks

Good morning! We had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend here, spent with family and friends...but boy, was it COLD!!! My daughter always takes part in a Highland Dancing demonstration at the Brigden Fall Fair, and we were remembering how the last two years were ridiculously hot! We were all shivering this year...but the girls did a great job! We of course went to the midway and had fun on some of the rides, toured the exhibits and got caramel apples as a treat!

So, I thought a thank-you card would be an appropriate post after Thanksgiving weekend! Most of the supplies for this card are from The Town Scrapper . I used a CC Design stamp featuring Emma from their fall release. The design paper is all from My Minds Eye. I used my Fancy Tags Spellbinders (The Town Scrapper has a great selection of Spellbinders!) for the sentiment...I really love these tags! They are so pretty. The sentiment is also from CC Designs (Thank You Sentiment Set). The edges were all distressed with brown ink. I added a few rhinestones from my own stash...gotta have a little bling!

Emma was stamped on Neenah cardstock and coloured with Copic markers. I used the colourless blender to create the polka-dots on Emma's dress. If you try out this technique on a dark colour, like this brown, be patient with it! It took me several applications of the colourless blender to achieve the look I wanted.

Speaking of thank-you's...I would like to thank the ladies over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge Blog . I played along in their challenge last week, and was awarded a "Shining Star"! What an honour! All of the entrants submitted such beautiful cards. There is a lot of talent over at that blog. What a lovely group of ladies, and I enjoyed participating in their challenge.

One more quick note...Phebe at The Town Scrapper has the new CC Designs release in! Have you seen these stamps? They are gorgeous! I can't wait to get my inky paws on the Emma Angel set! She also has a great selection of paper and embellishments. Take a trip out to Petrolia to visit her! Now is the time to start your Christmas cards ladies...the season will be upon us before you know it!

Have a blessed day!

High Hopes Challenge #47 and Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #7

Happy Thanksgiving weekend!!

I love fall. It is probably my favourite season! The trees are just beautiful at this time of year. I love walking through the woods during this cool, crisp weather with the leaves crunching underfoot, and the squirrels racing around gathering nuts! As I am typing this post, there are two pumpkin pies baking in my oven...LOVE the smell of pumpkin pie baking! Eating it isn't half bad either!

So, on to my card. This is the first time I have ever entered a card into more than one challenge! High Hopes challenged us to use layers. Over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ, they put forth the challenge to make a card showing the earth rejoicing (Psalm 97:1). The glorious colours of autumn seem to be a celebration of our awesome Creator! I know I rejoice when I see this colourful display!

This cute little High Hopes puppy is named Watson. I have made birthday cards with Watson, but thought it would be fun to let him get outdoors! This was a fun card to make, as I wanted to create a fall backdrop. The pile of leaves and the little pumpkin are also High Hopes stamps, but the falling leaves are from CC Designs. The sky was sponged with Memento ink and a hand cut cloud template. This is a fast, easy way to create a sky.

The tree is hand-drawn. Everything was of course coloured with my Copic markers, and stamped/drawn onto Neenah cardstock. If you are going to use hand-drawn images on your card, make sure to use Copic compatible ink! I used a Copic multiliner. These are very handy fineliners to have on hand. The sentiment was printed from my computer. I love this quote! Unfortunately it turned out a bit small, but it says: "Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."

Here's a closeup of the image.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Take time to reflect on what you are thankful for. God is great, and I thank Him for the many blessings he has sent my way.

Melanie
