Well, Whee!

I’ve got a secret. I won’t tell.
But it has made my spirit swell.
Don’t ask. Don’t peek.
Not gonna leak.
Just trust me. Things will turn out well.

I simply can’t stay in my chair.
My mind, it zips from here to there.
Sit still? No way.
Not gonna say.
But soon wild wonders I’ll declare.

May-Glow Maniac

One need not be in politics
To practice down-and-dirty tricks.

A cranium may grow obscene
When one fixed on himself is keen.
Look how he swells;
The tales he tells,
While seeking others to demean.

To gain all glory he’ll embark.
He operates without benchmark.
No conduct clue,
He’s much ado –
We think he might glow in the dark.

No pound of flesh will satisfy,
Nor does he still his battle cry.
Napoleon
By him’s outdone.
To this one rules do not apply.

His self-strong shell is compromised,
Though he to date is unchastised.
Enough! Enough!
Let’s call his bluff.
A blowhard’s trust is ill-advised.

Surely Sung and Never Unrung

 ‘Tis said you can’t unring a bell;
Resounding gongs their stories tell.
The chime plays out. Sound the alarm.
Call constable, patrol, gendarme.

Appealing secrets bell the cat
And fill vain ears with dark chitchat.
They hollow ring, when once begun –
Take teller to the lowest rung.

So ring it up. Announce the charge.
For he who tolls is still at large.
Though he go jingling merrily,
Bell, book, and candle hold the key.
