What have we been doing this summer?

Summer has been flying by! We only have a little over two weeks before school starts again; so I thought I'd catch you up on what we have been doing this summer.

The first part of the summer we spent lots of time with Jen, Kaden, Hailey and Ella before they moved to Prescott. We had lots of play dates and get togethers. We have missed them a lot during this last half of the summer. Here are a few pictures of some fun times with them.

We also had Darrin and Donae visit us for an afternoon in May. It was fun to see them and for the cousins to get to play together. Here are Bailey, Hailey, Aubree and Ella.

Also, I celebrated my birthday on May 31st! Neil and I sharing a dessert at Macaroni Grill.

Visited by an old friend we knew in Mississipppi-Scott Davis.
Eating lots of popsicles.
Going to lots of spray parks and swimming at the Air Force Base Pool to try and keep cool in this heat!

A few of Andrew being silly at the pool!
Whew! We have been pretty busy!

Grandma, Grandpa and Cousins Visit Arizona

We were so excited when we heard that Grandma and Grandpa were coming to visit us in Arizona! This was a huge sacrifice for them, first of all, because they had just drove the close to 30 hours from Pennsylvania to Utah a few weeks before making the 12 hour trip (each way, I might add) down here to our house, and then in a few more weeks, they get to drive that almost 30 hour trip back to Pennsylvania. And second, because they do not love the heat, and they came down here at the hottest time of the year. We are so grateful that they came out to see us. They also brought three of the kids' cousins down with them so that the kids could play.

These girls sure had a lot of fun together! Here they are doing their own nails up in my bathroom. They didn't want any help, until after they were done and wanted me to go around each nail with the remover to clean up all of their out-of-the-lines. Sorry girls, not happenin'!

The girls also all slept in Aubree's bed, cuddled close.
We took the kids to the splash park at the outdoor mall to splash and run around. On the drive over, Aaron fell asleep. We all took turns holding him out in the heat.

Cadence and Asia were having fun posing for pictures and so here are a few.

Here's a good one of Grandpa

I wish I would have got some pictures of Andrew and Canyon playing Xbox till late! I can still see their tired eyes as they were telling me they weren't done and wanted to keep on playing. Silly boys! They had a lot of fun together too.

Andrew's 6th Birthday Party

Andrew has been talking about his birthday for a really long time. He was so excited to turn 6! We had his party on his birthday~July 20th!

We did a water party and everyone played outside with water balloons, squirt guns, and bounced on the trampoline.
He invited two of his church friends, Justin and Jason and his friend Robert from school. His cousins Canyon, Cadence and Asia and Grandma and Grandpa were in town visiting and got to come to his party. And of course all of his family was there too! There was a big crowd there to celebrate this boy!

I really need to post the recipe to this sometime.
It's not a true party without this cake.

Girls' Day Out

For Girls' Day Out, Grandma took the granddaughters to go get pedicures at the beauty college here. The girls were excited to get their first pedicure! Here they are waiting patiently for the beautician to come pick them up for their pedicure.

They definitely made some memories today. Asia and Aubree got polka dot toes and Cadence and Grandma got flowers. Their toes looked so cute!

Afterward we had lunch at Wendy's.

Aaron got to enjoy a Frosty and some time with Grandma too.

It was a fun girls day out!
