Spring's Coming

Hey, Friends!
It was a very busy work week, and with a little vertigo thrown in to put things ‘off kilter’ it seemed even more rushed!  There are no finishes, but a little stitching was done this week.  I’m still enjoying ‘A Wish for You.’  I’ve changed the door’s initial to an ‘S’ and lightened up on the trim and windows with Weeks Parchment.  Hopefully the weekend will see it completed.
It was a fabulous stashing week!  My LNS The Stitch and Frame Shop came back from ‘Market’ with loads of beautiful and fun stuff, so I grabbed my list and headed off.  The BBD girls had been busier than I remembered reading about there were several pincushion rewards that I couldn’t resist, including this one, Breath of Spring, plus the great Stitcher’s Journey book. It is really fine and there are some great photos of it all around that I'm sure you've already seen!
I found several charts I’ve been ‘needing’ for some time on etsy, too.  Someone had some items for sale without a blog, and I picked up this lovely book from the Charleston (South Carolina) Museum, Samplers and Embroideries from Charleston and the Lowcountry.
AND I received the prize, Blessed are the Needleworkers, I won from The Wooley Stitcher's Blog.  It not only has the great chart, but also the silks to stitch with!  Thank you so much, Kim!
I hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine as much as I am today.  It’s still cool, but tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70’s.  How great is that?
Spring must really be on the way the guy who cut my grass last summer came by this morning to see if I still want to have his service this year.  Ha, ha, ha…  I loved it!  Not having to spend a part of the weekend doing yard work of course!!  I also noticed the Tulip Tree is showing its color…
Thanks for stopping by, and I’d love to hear your comments or your favorite finds  this week!

Giving Thanks

Hey, Friends!  Thank you all SO much for your encouragement on the gall bladder attack and removal surgery.  I went for the post op visit and everything is fine.  I need to get blood work done, and will go back to work on Monday, November 29.  It’s over, and I’m progressing well.  The surprise has been how long it is taking to get my strength back, but they keep telling me to take it easy.  You know, if these four little incisions cause this much pain, etc, how in the world does anyone survive a tummy tuck!

I’ve been very lucky recently!  DJ from Tickled Pink in Stitches had a drawing on her blog for a Prairie Schooler, Stitch to Win Against Breast Cancer chart and the cutest pink Little Gems with a precious pink and green scissor fob.  How lucky am I?  Then Pat Winter at Gatherings had a drawing for a $30 spending trip at the CSN Stores and I was the lucky winner there, too.  Thank you SO much ladies!  I’ll post when I complete the prizes!
If everything goes as planned, Thanksgiving dinner will be a bit smaller and the house less sparkling than usual, but will follow the tradition of being here.  DS is coming to help, so I won’t have to lift the gobbler, etc.
On the stitching side of things, I didn’t win the argument…previous statement… “And here I sit, arguing with myself that I don’t need to start collecting the Blackbird Designs Anniversaries of the Heart series.  They’re all ordered and awaiting arrival have now arrived.
Yes, I’ve been doing some stitching, but don’t want to post the things I’ve been working on since there MAY be a couple of gifties in the group.  I will try to remember to get photos before they leave to show you later.
Thanks for stopping by today for a visit and I always love to read your Needler’s Points.  Again, thank you so much for sharing your experiences, kind words, prayers, and positive thoughts.  I know that’s why I wasn’t fearful in the least.  Have a great weekend preparing for your Thanksgiving!

A Bit Cooler?

Hasn’t it been pleasant this weekend – at least in the morning.  I went out first thing, it was almost – cool.  Can’t believe I’m typing those letters!  School started in our area last week, and on the day it was to start when we went out for morning walk, I noticed some volunteer, blue morning glories among my overgrown front flower bed.  It brought back memories… being on my childhood home front porch in my brown plaid dress waiting for friends to come by so we could walk to school together and noticing the morning glories for the first time of the season.
In those days, pants were now allowed, much less shorts!!  And we went to a neighborhood school, so yes, we walked.  And now, the old thermometer on the monitor tells me it has risen 10 degrees in the last couple of hours, so back to realityJ.
This week I received the gift I won from Beach Cottage Stitchers blogiversary giveaway.  Cynthia allowed me to choose the item of my choice from her store, so I chose Alyce Schroth Sampler Recreations ~101 Pennsylvania German Sampler.  Aren’t those silks scrumptious?  Thank you so much, Cynthia.

Yesterday I went to a class at my LNS, The Stitch and Frame Shop, to have hands-on learning to do a flat fold.  It was a great class – thank you, Maggie!  I used some tiny beaded trim from Hobby Lobby, and the fabric I selected as the ‘door prize’ at the Manning-French Hen stitch day. I think it turned out very well, and believe there will be more of these to come!   Thanks for dropping by, and I’d love to hear your thoughts today!  I always appreciate what you have to say.

Winner, winner!!

Oh, boy!  Imagine my surprise when this morning I clicked on the sidebar list of Giveaways to JMD Designs and saw my name!!!  The first time I visited, I fell in love with the Tree of Life.  I can't wait to stitch this beautiful design.  Go over and take a look.  You'll find it difficult to make a choice, too, but it is fun trying to decide!

Thank you so much for your generosity, Janet.

Prize Winner

One of the women I 'met' on the wXSw Yahoo Group, is preparing to open an online 'shop' to sell charts and fabrics. I'm excited for her, and am waiting to go shopping!

Joan had a contest and invited group members to suggest which fonts and colors looked the best for the new site, and I, being one who always has an opinion, gave my suggestions. I won the contest, with the winning prize being samples of one of her graphs and some of the hand-dyed fabrics she will have for sale there. They are SO pretty I can hardly wait to stitch something very special on them!!

These are 14 count Aida

These are 18 ct Aida

Thank you for your generosity, Joan. I am tickled to have won all these lovely things!!
