I have been wanting to bake a cake using homegrown mulberries. After my mulberries tree grown sufficient amount of mulberries, i quickly use it to bake a cake. I feel the mulberry taste even better after baked rather than eating it raw. It was crunchy and mild sweet.

I also followed the latest trend to make a popular Korean buttercream flowers cake for my elder sister's 50th Birthday. I didn't attend any buttercream flower class but instead i learnt by myself through many videos shared in Youtube.
What is Korean buttercream flowers? according to this Chinese website, Korean buttercream flowers are derived from the basic Wilton buttercream flower and re-created by Korean housewives. As most of them have no time to take the time consuming Wilton buttercream courses, hence they just used the basic buttercream flowers technique and improved the colour variations and made changes on the nozzles, and created their own version of buttercream flowers.

Just realized that the name of this cake is sooo long ^_^. Because this cake has banana, caramel, cream cheese and butter. With all these ingredients, sure it will not go wrong, a rich and buttery cake!

Madeleine 马德琳蛋糕

My little son Desmond like Madeleine a lot. It started when both of us watching a Taiwan TV drama together (the story line was about baking and love) the other day. He was attracted by this Madeleine and requested me to make for him. At first,  I was using the recipe provided in the drama which required to rest the batter overnight in the fridge. The madeleine turned out to be hard and quite dry but my son finished them all. I guess this recipe was failed due to no raising agent is added.

Walnut Butter Cake 核桃奶油蛋糕

I started to feel lazy to update blog after rest for few days. But I have few recipes still pending to update as per my Instagram reader's requested. I have quite some time did not bake a butter cake. Since I have overripe bananas sitting on the island top, perfect to make a banana cake. But I also wish to have some bite of nuts in this cake. So I added some pine nuts (leftover from earlier Basmati Rice with Pomegranate Seeds and Pine nuts ). And I love this combination!

Italian Plum Cake 意大利李子蛋糕

I made this Italian plum cake yesterday with plums from South Africa, it was like butter cake bake in tart or pie pan with some stone fruits..Nevertheless, it was nice and buttery !
After this post, I will go off for another "tumpang trip" , and back after a week..

A Christmas dinner, and A Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese frosting

Yesterday my sister-in-law Annie invited us and another SIL Doreen to her house for a Christmas dinner. I brought my favourite carrot cake with cream cheese frosting (now becomes Annie 's favourite too, hehehe),  macarons for her daughter who loves macarons and Nama chocolate to her house.

Mini Cherry Cakes, Blessed Christmas !

I bought a box of fresh cherries this morning from a wet market and thinking to bring back to hometown for my mother to enjoy it. Since i also planning to bake a butter cake which is my mother favourite's cake, so i also add some cherry on it..

Fresh Fig and Cranberries Butter Cake 无花果蔓越莓牛油蛋糕

Recently i found another pasar pagi (morning wet market) nearby for my daily marketing. This market have more stalls and more things to buy. I have never seen fresh figs 无花果 selling in this kind of pasar pagi before. I was so happy when i stumbled upon fresh figs selling in one of the fruits stall the other day. The owner of the shop told me that I was lucky enough to get these figs as this is the first time and also the last time for him to sell these figs as there are not many people seem to "appreciate" these fruit, hahaha..he even discounted few ringgits for me..so I bought 4 for RM 8 only..
Aiyah, i should have thrown some of the seeds in my backyard to see whether it grow or not..but i was totally forgotten!

Pink Ombre Cake with Rosette Swiss Meringue Buttercream

Today I just collected Lucas' IC (He is 12th now) and also celebrating my daughter's 15th years Birthday. Two of them considered adults now and i can no more save some money from entrance fee, ticket fee & etc, aiyah..

The other day i asked my daughter what type of Birthday cake she wants, she said chocolate cake. But I beg her for this cake because i wanted to make this cake for longer time. She said this cake look sweet and lovely but she said a lot of colouring ler, and i told her this is only once in a year and we just eating a small piece, it is ok lar, we will not die one, hahahaha..
