Me on Monday
It's been several weeks, with a few interruptions but we are finally coming to the end of decorating the spare/craft room. Ian fitted all those doors himself with a little help from a friend.
Behind them is all my craft stuff and my little red camping table is out ready for me to do my Christmas Journal.

Me on Monday
This was actually Saturday, just before my little visitor went home, the two of us spent a lot of time in my bedroom with the door closed as we played, my full attention was needed!
I've already bought lots of presents in an attempt to feel more relaxed this year. We have been decorating the spare room which is also my craft room so I haven't made any cards yet. Hopefully it will be finished in a few days and I can get some done. It always amazes me how quickly Christmas is upon us, I have so many plans and not enough days it seems, still that is the fun of it.

Me on Monday
We all went up to the Olympic Stadium to see the Anniversary Games
We were quite near the long jump so got a good view of everyone taking part and enjoyed an afternoon of races and field events.
The youth team paraded round, I wonder how many of them will be future olympic champions?

Me on Monday
You never know what you are going to see when you go for a walk here. We were entertained by this Tiller Girl and a very good singer who had mixed with the likes of Vera Lynn, Ann Shelton and Lonnie Donegan, way before my time but I enjoyed joining in the singing.
We took a guided tour round Canterbury and found some very weird buildings.
as well as some beautiful old ones
and I was able to leave this book on the train for someone else to read as part of my book club scheme ( I did worry someone would come running after me saying I had forgotten it!)
I'm hoping this week will be a quiet one as I need to recover ready for more visitors.

Me on Monday
Mum was 92yrs old last week and came to us for a "little bit of sea air"
Always happy to pose for her picture, I was able to snap away as she opened her presents.
One of her favourites was a little dvd capturing some old cine film from years ago. Here she is at my sister's wedding with her three brothers and sister, her youngest brother died at 10yrs old having fallen from a cliff trying to get his football. Mum is now the only one left from her large family.
We had got a wheelchair for the week so were able to get out quite a bit. There were lots of walks by the sea followed of course by a little sit down with a coffee.
I'm very fortunate to still have mum around and apart from short term memory loss she is in good health. She always likes to tell us stories of her youth, she certainly led a much more exciting life than me. I do think it's important to record those stories while mum is still with us.
Joining in with Sian again and hoping you all have a good week x

Me on Monday
I’m cheating a bit as this was me last Monday enjoying a pleasant day at Slimbridge
So many birds to see but I just love the babies
including these little coots
and this adorable moorhen
the reason for our visit, a few days looking after our granddaughter while mummy was away
we had a lovely time holding the animals, this little chick was a favourite
and feeding the lambs
there was time for some adventure as well
she managed to climb up there and come down on her own, it was far too scary for me!
We had a lovely few days, I really should have lost weight all the running around we did.
This Monday sees me tired and a little sad it is all over.

Me on Monday
doing what most mum’s do, cooking a favourite meal for one of her sons.
The weekend was another family one involving a lot of food and not much exercise, unless I can include the hours spent preparing the meals!

Me on Monday
Waving to Sian and everyone else stopping by this sunny Monday.
We are recovering from a couple of days in London where we went to the Harold Pinter Theatre
to see Sunny Afternoon, the story of The Kinks. It was a great night out and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
We also took a tour around The Globe Theatre which was very interesting and walked around Regents Park on what turned out to be a very hot day.
Having walked about 20,000 steps a day I was relieved to sit down on Sunday and finish off my coastal ripple blanket. I need a new project now, socks perhaps?
Thanks again to Sian for starting this meme and I hope you all have a good week.

Me on Monday
Crocheting the border round my coastal ripple blanket, nearly finished now. The weekend saw us walking over to feed the cat and chicken before welcoming home a tired family with a roast dinner. It was also a triathlon and grand prix watching weekend and a getting ready for a night away to see Sunny Afternoon in London.
Hi to everyone else taking part in Sian's Me on Monday meme.

Me on Monday
Playing around with some pretty paper and photos after a busy but mainly enjoyable weekend
It was Kent’s Big Weekend and we received tickets to the Canterbury Roman Museum. We tried on costumes
Played a roman board game
and enjoyed making a mosaic.
The less enjoyable part? Ian had two teeth out on Sunday.
Joining in with Sian who is discarding her crochet for a while and knitting some socks!
