sketch

Shimelle had a sketch to scrapbook page post over on her blog here which made me keen to have a go.

SDC16409

This is what I came up with, quite a simple layout but documenting a happy outing last year.

Having had a few worrying weeks with several hospital visits it was a great relief to be told this week that everything is ok, I feel able to start planning for this year now.

Life is short, let’s get out there and enjoy it.

our story

SDC16402

These old photos are very special to us and I’ve wanted to scrap them for a long time. Our first little place we bought for £7000 many years ago. We only stayed there for the first year of married life and brought our first child home there for barely a month but I can still remember decorating it and buying furniture to fill it. An exciting time.

something simple

SDC16400

some new inks and a favourite butterfly stamp help to make two simple cards ready for posting later in the year

Life at the moment is all about hospital visits and waiting so simple is good.

not quite sure!

SDC16383

I’ve been struggling with this layout for over a week, adding things, rearranging and I’m still not satisfied.

I’m taking part in Miss Smith's Telling Tales class and I’m really enjoying all the prompts, I love her style. Whether it’s because I want this album to be really special, or I just don’t have the eye for design, I’m not sure. I think the vellum has to go!!

a winter’s walk

It was very cold and windy but there was some blue sky up there so we wrapped up and went for a walk.

love letters

This year we will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and I must be feeling a bit sentimental, something that doesn’t happen very often.

It’s Storytelling Sunday again over on Sian’s blog and time to “pick my precious”

I have a few letters from my husband that I would hate to lose, they are very precious to me. There are also a couple that I sent to him that are far from romantic, he does that sort of thing much better than me.

My first letter was sent the day after I agreed to go on a date with him, it’s dated 19.4.71. It has a lovely poem in it, a great improvement on the cheeky one he’d originally said to me. You can read about that here

You can keep all your expensive gifts although lovely to receive, the few words on these pieces of paper mean so much more.

my month in photos

January 2013

I’ve not taken many photos this month, the weather and illness making me a bit lazy.
