Christmas is coming!

I thought it was time to accept the fact that Christmas is just around the corner and start  making some cards.

SDC16094

I started by buying a digi stamp from here and made these simple cards.

I had seen some lovely cards on this blog which I tried to copy using inks I had on hand, not quite in the same class but I had a go!

a long dark night

It was a winter’s evening long ago and I was watching a film with my parents, not a very scary film, in fact quite a nice film called The Million Pound Note. If I remember rightly it starred Gregory Peck and was based on a book by Mark Twain.

The film was about a poor American sailor fortunate enough to be passing the house of two rich gentlemen who have conceived the crazy idea of distributing a note worth one million pounds. The sailor finds that whenever he tries to use the note to buy something, people treat him as if he is a King and let him have whatever he likes for free.

That night I settled down in my bed quite happily and was soon asleep. Suddenly a pale hand clutching a note appeared in the doorway and an evil voice whispered “ sell your soul to me Jane and I will give you a million pounds!” The note fell from the hand very slowly.

My poor parents were woken by loud desperate screams and rushed into my bedroom to see what was wrong. There I was on my hands and knees searching frantically “It’s here somewhere ” I said!

I like to think I would have given it back!!!

This little story is part of Sian's Storytelling Sunday, do pop over to her blog and read some more.
