Finished
Here are the last two pages for shimelle's LSNED class and I've finished for the third year running! I see on Jenny's blog that she has beaten me to it though!
Ian and I are trying desperately to get the garden looking nice but feel like it has gone the opposite way in the 5yrs we have been here, I suppose we must just keep trying.
I tried to get Ian involved with my craft today and very occasionally he obliges!
That's everything done now apart from printing the pages out.

More pages
My next few pages for Shimelles class, almost finished now. This page was about our trip to Canterbury and how we can always convince ourselves to forget about our diets.
Jenny and co came round on Saturday and I was reminded by mum of how lucky we are to have them living so near. She was feeling a bit down that she wasn't invited to birthdays etc anymore and I felt sad that she felt she was not needed now she was older.
I've been enjoying getting books from the library and trying new authors.
Yesterday I had great trouble getting things to work on the computer but I persevered and remembered what my boys did and I got there!

My day
As we get older we sometimes look back on our lives with regret, the years have flown by and we have moved on to a new stage. Days that were centred around our children have now become days centred around ourselves :)
My layout today shows how I like to spend my day now and I am selfish enough to be pleased I have this time to do all the things I want. It is nice to be needed though!

almost there
Two more pages for my LSNED class, the 23rd was all about starting another new class and learning new techniques.
For the next page we had to use a brush on the page so I used the new one I had just made for Jessica Spragues class, nothing like combining the two classes, makes life a bit easier!
Have had a nice day out in Canterbury with Jenny and Peter, took some photos but need them for my class tomorrow. They were holding the annual European Market there this weekend and we sampled the goodies and bought a few bits, could have spent a fortune but consious that I'm trying to lose weight as well as save money ready for Christmas.
Strictly come dancing is on tonight and I'm looking forward to seeing this set of dancers they look a bit better than last weeks, hopefully Anton will do better this time :)

New week, new class!
have just started a new class by Jeesica Sprague, you can find it http://www.jessicasprague.com/index.php. I have trouble with journalling so hopefully this will help.
Finished off this layout this morning using 3bugsinarug papers, not for any class, just because I wanted to!
Lots to do today which is just as well, I'm trying to be extra good as the weight isn't falling off me as I want, oh to go to sleep and wake up thin!

fun weekend
Have been quite busy this weekend but have managed to get my next few pages done. The first is about my addiction to buying Jessica Sprague classes.
Next is my love of autumn and collecting conkers!
This page was of my surprise when I went with Ian to see Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen yesterday evening, I actually enjoyed it! Kenny is 79yrs old and still loving what he does. The musicians were excellent especially the drummer and I found their style of music fun to listen to. Ian bought a cd and the band signed it for him, hopefully he wont play it so much that I start going off them!!!!!
Today we popped into margate as there was a kite festival going on there and now we are waiting for Jamie to come round to watch spurs.
Burnley did well yesterday too I'm glad to see.

more pages.
Have been a bit busy for a couple of days so have only just been able to do my pages for LSNED. The 13th was all about finally getting my yorkshires to rise again after having a few failures.
I had quite a bad day on the 14th, some very stressful phonecalls, but it did teach me I can be patient even though I feel I am losing it.
My birthday and another year gone by. Some thoughts on how I feel and how I look forward to another year.
Jamie has been working very hard and I am always very proud of him, but this week he has been coping very well with some very hard tests. Whatever the outcome I know he has done his best, love you Jamie x

I'm now on top of this class and need to get on with the Beautiful Evidence one as I have been very naughty and just bought a journalling class from Jessica Sprague!

day 10
I'm a day behind but not going to stress over it. The 10th was all about forgetting my camera when there was a good photo opportunity, I must be more prepared in future.
It's been a nice lazy day today. I've been for a walk and had a coffee by the sea. We made soup for lunch and then I played everquest with Peter and Andrew completing 3 heritage quests which was good fun. I then made tea and have now just finished this layout, a good sort of day.
It was spoilt a little by my mum informing me she couldn't be bothered to get my birthday card. Now I know she is getting older and so am I, but sometimes things are better left unsaid!
Lesson today, think before you speak, words can hurt.

messy day!
Having done a lot of digi stuff lately I suddenly fancied getting out the pp! This layout was a scraplift of a page by Carrie Ferrier in Scrapbook Trends, I loved the simplicity of the design.
Haven't done my LSNED page yet but have my lesson for tomorrow. After a worrying morning we decided to go out for a good long walk in an effort to keep me fit. The tide was right in and quite high and the waves and spray were exciting to watch and would have made a fantastic photo if I had remembered my camera! I did take some photos on my phone but it wasn't the same.

Day 8
a very quick page today as it is using yesterday's layout. The photo is of my own tomatoes chopped up ready to make a compote.
Jenny has been doing some lovely pages too, you can find them http://www.jennyjens-journal.blogspot.com/
Ian and I have been busy in the garden again trying to clear some space and tidy everything up.
Hopefully my lesson for today is we can do it when we try!

day 7
It is very hard to come to terms with the fact your mum isn't as young as she was, we seem to think they will go on the same for ever. Mum, as she always likes to remind us, is now 86yrs and her memory isn't as good as it used to be. My lesson from yesterday is to not get irritated as I know I can do, mum can't help it if she forgets, it could be me in a few years!
It's so nice when someone new looks at your blog and leaves a comment, so thank you Amy for popping by :)
Lesson learnt today - Jenny is too much like me, sorry Jen!!
I don't need Ed's tomatoes I had enough of my own to make a yummy tomato compote.
handbags are hard to buy especially when it is a picky daughter looking!

Day 6
Here's my page for yesterday, to think of others, something I don't always do. The photo is from yesterday at the bandstand.
I'm trying hard to think of a lesson for today. Having just had mum on the phone telling me hospital appointments have been changed and she has just gone for a blood test she didn't need, I think it must be to learn to be more patient!

day 5
My day 5 page showing how I am using my feet for long walks in a bid to lose weight!
Still on track with my diet. Got up early this morning and did a 30mins workout and have also been on a long walk this afternoon ending with listening to the band playing at the bandstand.
We also all went out for a meal again but I had water and a chicken salad.
It was an effort to go for the walk in the afternoon but I knew Ian wanted to listen to the band so my lesson today is it feels good when you think of others, aren't I a smug little girl!

Still on track!
I'm still loving doing shimelle's class digi, no mess and done so quickly with the templates. The lesson was from yesterday about my love of autumn.
It's been lovely here today and we managed to go for an early walk. Todays lesson must be that if I get out early and have a brisk walk by the sea it puts me in the right frame of mind for my diet. I've been very good today and not picked, I'm sure that walk makes me more positive. Ian and I have decided we will make ourselves do it everyday.

day 3
A very quick page with my lesson for yesterday, to think before I plant. Too often Ian and I just put a flower etc in anywhere in the garden resulting in some costly mistakes. From now on we will read the instructions and follow them, sounds simple doesn't it!
Today has been quite a good day. I've not done much as the weather has been very wild so it has been a day for staying in and cleaning the house, a few telephone calls and playing on the computer. I love days like this, the wind, the leaves coming off the trees, waves pounding on the shore and the prospect of looking for conkers soon with the children. I love autumn!!

Influences
day 2
my next shimelle page for 2nd september. My lesson was to stop and take a moment to look around me, the gatrden always has a calming effect on me, whether it's the lowers or birds I can stand and watch things for ages.
Today we haven't done much standing about, Ian and I have been out digging, we are enlarging one of the borders with the idea of putting in more shrubs, hopefully it will look good.
Lesson must be to plan ahead, too often I just put anything in the garden and then wonder why it doesn't look right or dies, from now on we are going to read up on plants and try and put them in the right place.

busy day
I've had quite a busy day today. It started with doing the weekly shop and then some housework. The post arrived and ian gave me an early birthday present, photoshop elemnts 7 so that had to be installed. I then spent a while downloading a digi kit and some templates before having a go at this digi page for shimelles class. I might tweak it a bit later on in the month but for now it will do.
Had to go to the dentist in the afternoon and need a filling (: Took my camera with me but forgot to use it there!
We then went to the garden centre and I bought some birdseed to cheer myself up so I think that will be my lesson of the day. I don't ask for much out of life, watching the birds can keep me entertained for ages. I would like the dentist to phone and tell me it had all been a mistake I have perfect teeth, too!!!

never give up!
Ian and I have been searching for our old slides ever since we moved here it seems. Boxes have been emptied again and again but with no luck. I have been so upset as we had lost all our early memories of the children, slides I could scan in for photos to scrap. Today Ian found them, right at the bottom of a box filled with old football magazines so my lesson for today is to never give up sometimes you win!
Learn something new
Today I start a new class from Shimelle called Learn something new everyday. I say it is a new class but I have done this for the last two years in September and have thoroughly enjoyed it. At the end of each day I will look back and find something I have learnt, it could be something quite small or something amazing I have learnt about myself, who knows!!!
Have had a lovely weekend ending with a yummy italian meal yesterday lunchtime sitting on a terrace overlooking the bay, it can't get much better than that! I didn't put on any weight either!!!
Now it is September and things should be quieting down here I hope to get myself organised and try not to be too lazy!
