Totally Stampalicious Goes Monochromatic

Are you ready for a challenge?  When I saw this week's challenge at Totally Stampalicious, I was a little bit scared.  I admit it ~ I like colors.  Lots of colors.  But blue isn't one of my favorites... not sure why but I will go to almost any other color before I go to blue if given the choice.  So, when asked to make a monochromatic, BLUE card, I paused.  But, not one to give up before getting started, I set to work.

I blog surfed for a bit and found a sketch that would fit my image perfectly over at Eat Sleep Stamp:

Recipe - Stamps: Let it Snow Stella (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Not Quite Navy  Paper: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Nesties, Swiss Dots embossing folder, Bashful Blue satin ribbon, adhesive pearls, dimensionals, Copics

Thanks for stopping by this morning - have fun creating a monochromatic blue card.  Enjoy your Monday!

A Totally Stampalicious Monday!

Hello again!

It's been a LONG time since you've seen a Totally Stampalicious card from me on a Monday - MUCH too long and I apologize for that.  Joycelyn and Becky have released some pretty amazing Bugaboo Christmas sets so I thought I'd give you a peek of one of my faves: Christmas JJ.  This week's Totally Stampalicious challenge is to use a red bow somewhere on your card.

I have been admiring this week's Color Throwdown combination ever since Wednesday and it works perfectly for a Christmas card:

And Taylor's Sketch has a lovely, big bow so it was a match made in card-heaven:

Recipe - Stamps: Christmas JJ (Totally Stampalicious)  Paper: Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, SU! DSP  Ink: Riding Hood Red  Accessories: Riding Hood Red striped ribbon, Nesties, paper piercer, Copics, border punch (MS), button, twine, Modern Label punch, adhesive pearls, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by - check back in a few hours for a new Picture Perfect Creations Color Combination!  See you then!

Wanna See Scarlette and her JUGS?

Well, OK... I'm stretching it a little.  No one's going to see anything they shouldn't on this-here blog...no siree.  Yes, there's a bathtub and yes, there are a few bubbles but...  What I *was* referring to (not very eloquently, I might add) is the fact that the Scarlette stamp I used for this card was combined with the Just Us Girls color challenge.  I also used the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch and this week's Totally Stampalicious challenge to use three different ribbons on our project.

Recipe - Stamps: Bubble Bath Scarlette (Totally Stampalicious)  Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Wild Wasabi  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black  Accessories: Silver brads, various ribbons, oval punch, Nesties, clear embossing powder, Copics, Twizzle embossing folder (Sizzix), twine

Thanks for stopping by today - can you believe we are almost at the end of September?  ACK!  I really need to see the sunshine for a *few* more days...enough of this rainy stuff.  See you again soon!

I just love these colors -- the new Cheery Cobbler and the "new" oldies, Pink Pirouette & Baja Breeze.  I thought I could use them for this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious: "Anything But a Card."  I decided to use a tutorial I found over at Splitcoast to make this cute little Gable Box:

Make sure you stop by the Picture Perfect Color Challenge to see what the rest of the girls created with these colors - and then click over to Totally Stampalicious to see what fun the gang created that *isn't* a card.  :)

Only 3 more days until the 4 Crafty Chicks' debut challenge!!  I can't wait for you all to join us!

Sugar and Spice...

Hello - I'm so glad you stopped by!  This week's color challenge over at Picture Perfect Creations is a beautiful one and you could use it for many different types of cards - I'm lovin' the new Concord Crush:

This week's challenge from the girls at Totally Stampalicious is to use at least two different textures on your card (ex: dry emboss, heat emboss, fabric, ribbon, flock etc.).  I thought I'd use Desiree Lollipop again so I went in search of a sketch that would fit and found this simple one from 2 Sketches 4 You:

Recipe - Stamp: Desiree Lollipop (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Concord Crush  Paper: Very Vanilla, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Copics, Very Vanilla satin ribbon, adhesive pearls, Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, Swiss Dots embossing folder

If you'd like to see more of these colors, hop over to see what the rest of the PPC Creators did:

I'm sure the gals at Totally Stampalicious have created some amazing textured cards so make sure you stop there too!

What's Black and White and Pink All Over??

Well, this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious, of course!  All you have to do is use black, white and any shade of pink on your card to join us for this week's festivities.  I decided to use the new, In Colors' Blushing Bride for my pink and the old stand-bys of Whisper White and Basic Black when making my card.

I thought Jen's Sketch For You To Try would fit my image, Desiree Lollipop, perfectly:

Recipe - Stamps: Desiree Lollipop (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Blushing Bride, SU! DSP  Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Copics, button, paper piercer

Thanks for peeking - I hope you will join us over at TS for this fun color challenge.  There are so many possibilities with this color combination... I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

The Dreaded One Layer Card. . . ACK!

Welcome back, everyone!

I have said it before and I'm going to say it again ~ I LOVE LAYERS!  Lotsandlotsandlots of yummy layers and lotsandlotsandlots of embellishments on my cards.  So, this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious to make a one layer card with minimal embellishments was like a stake through my crafty heart.  Luckily I had a wonderful Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo from Megan to help me through the moments of self-doubt:

When I think of CAS or one layer cards, I immediately click over to the clean&simple stamping challenge blog for one of their fabulous sketches so that's the first place I clicked over to when I was getting started - I found this:

Hmmmm... not an easy sketch to use with the Totally Stampalicious stamps I have.  I finally decided that Cafe Scarlette would definitely work if I could figure out how to get her into those little circles. . .  After much thought and experimenting, I decided to make a template/mask that I could stamp through to get the specific {parts} of Scarlette into the circles.  So I cut out a scrap piece of cardstock, figured out where the circles should go, used my 1-3/8" circle punch to punch them out and ended up with something like this:

I placed it over my card base and started by tracing some doodles around the outside/inside edge of each circle.  I stamped Scarlette's shoes, purse and Scarlette enjoying a {sippie} in the circles and then stamped the sentiment below.  I added some buttons and ribbon and called it done.  To me, it still looks unfinished ~ I really wanted to add {something} else but decided not to at risk of ruining it all.  That's the nice thing about a multi-layer card...you have lots of chances to correct your screw-ups!

Stamps: Cafe Scarlette (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: Whisper White  Accessories: Copics, fine-tipped black marker, purple satin ribbon, buttons

If you 'd like to see more of these colors, hop over to see what the rest of the PPC Creators did:

Another Totally Stampalicious - Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge Two-'fer

Welcome, welcome, welcome!   I'm back with another groovy color combo from Megan over at Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge - don't you love the bright colors?  As many of you know, Pacific Point is NOT one of my faves, but I continue to {try} to love it...

This week over at Totally Stampalicious is a very SPECIAL one - not only do we have a great challenge for you but we are this week's sponsor over at Jen's Sketch For You To Try!!!  In honor of such a fabulous match, I decided to use Jen's sketch for the TS challenge, "Inside and Out!  Decorate the inside of you card as well as the outside."

I very rarely decorate the inside of my cards but I've decided I should do it more often because it really {does} add that little bit of "oomph!"   For this one, I chose to do an easel card to incorporate the inside decoration:

Stamps: Birthday Kids (Totally Stampalicious)  Paper: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Whisper White, Pacific Point, SU! DSP  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Accessories: Nestabilities, Houndstooth embossing folder, buttons, twine, scallop edge punch, Copics, Copic Spica atyou glitter pens

If you 'd like to see more of these colors, hop over to see what the rest of the PPC Creators did:

And if you decide to play along with us over at Totally Stampalicious, don't forget to stop back and link us up so we can come and see what you did.

Enjoy your Monday, everyone!  It's AUGUST!!!!

I decided to use the super-cute Sweet Birthday Kids for my card and combined a few challenges to create my card:

1.  Mercy's Tuesday Sketch
2. There She Goes Inspiration Challenge #63

3. TCP Tuesday #118 - Use twine on your project.
4. Practical Scrappers - Embossing somewhere on your card.  I used dry embossing for the top white panel and heat embossing on the main image.
5. Tuesday Throwdown - Show us some stitching on your project.

I LOVE the colors in the inspiration picture and knew they'd be perfect for a birthday card.  I made Mercy's sketch into a square card, added a sentiment to the bottom left corner and voila:

Totally Stampalicious - Pregnant JJ with a Splash of Red. . .

. . . but as you may be able to guess, my card has a *bit* more than a splash!  LOL  Red is one of my favorite colors and to ask me to just use a splash of it is like asking a kid not to eat the cookies!  :)  SO, this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious is to make a card with whatever colors you want but make sure there's a *splash* of red on your card.  Easy peasy, right??  Lucky for me, the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges this week is to use black, white and red on your card so I was able to kill two birds with one stone!

Peggy's sketch challenge over at the Paperworks Co. blog is to make a circle card.  Again, sounds easy, right?  Let me tell you, not as easy as it sounds!

So, after figuring out how big of a card I could make, and then sizing and resizing my digi image, I came up with this:

Recipe - Stamps: Pregnant JJ (Totally Stampalicious)  Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, SU! DP  Accessories: Nesties, Hodgepodge Hardware, paper piercer, Copics, taffeta ribbon, button, silver cord

Have fun with this challenge - red is a fabulous color and you can make so many great color combinations with it!  Enjoy!

Totally Stampalicious Monday!

Hey everyone!

This will be short and sweet - I thought I had scheduled a post for this card but I *obviously* forgot!  DUH - blonde moment...

So anyways, this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious is to use fabric somewhere on your creation.  I think I took the easy way out and fell victim to my felt ribbon.  I was going to use my Cuttlebug and Nesties to cut some fabric flowers but just couldn't find any fabric in colors I was excited about.

I used this yummilicious photo inspiration from {Cupcake Inspirations} to give me my color scheme - Taken With Teal, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip:

Paired it with a fabulous sketch from Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge:

Flipped the sketch 90* and voila:

I think she turned out super-duper cut, don't you?  I hope you'll take sometime to join us over at Totally Stampalicious - as usual, there is a prize up for grabs!!!  :)  Have fun!

TSJune14, CIC 63 & PWCO SS37 for Father's Day

Hello again everyone!

I thought I'd better get my butt in gear and do a card for Totally Stampalicious's challenge this week to make a Father's Day card ... before the week gets away from me.  I went in search of some inspirational colors and sketches and came across a couple of good ones.

The first challenge is from {Cupcake Inspirations} - a pretty yummy-looking inspiration picture, don't you think?  I decided to use this picture as the basis for my color palette... Cool Caribbean, Gable Green, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, and Rose Red.

Then I popped over to the Paperworks Co. blog to see what Peg and the girls came up with for us this week and discovered this fab sketch:

I decided to use the Bugaboo Sean stamp from Totally Stampalicious so I had to rotate the sketch to accomodate him:

That'll be it for me tonight... I've got a little boy with a VERY sore sunburn on his shoulders and I'm thinking he needs some mommy time (even if he *is* twelve...).  I hate when kids hurt - makes me feel just as terrible as they do.  Have a great night and if you have time this week, try to stop over at Totally Stampalicious and play along with us... we'd love to see what you make for dad!
