4CCC-118 {Crazy Egg - Ornaments}

It's the fifth Thursday of the month and you know what that means...it's CRAZY EGG Challenge time over at the 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  This time around we started thinking about Christmas and have decided on a theme of  "Ornaments" for this crazy egg challenge - interpret as you may...ornament paper, dies, even make your very own Christmas ornament.

For my card, I used MME "12 Days of Christmas" paper decorated with ornaments and then complemented it with The Cat's Pajamas' "J*lly H*liday" stamp set.  And, as usual, I come in *just* in the nick of time with Jen's Sketch for You To Try for November:

Don't forget about the prize package up for grabs if you play along with us over at the 4 Crafty Chicks...Tamie's got some fun stuff for you to win.  Thanks for stopping by - see you on Sunday for a brand new Sweet Sunday Sketch.  Enjoy the rest of your week!

4CCC-117 {Tropical Destination}

Hello, hello, hello!!!  Thank you for stopping by today to check on the new 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  This week Lori is the hostess extraordinaire and since it has been somewhat chilly around these parts, she wants to see some cards/projects inspired by a tropical destination

When I went looking for some paper and stamps to make my card, I realized that my choices were rather limited.  Eventually I found a sentiment from an AmyR Stamps set as well as the shell from one of the Pure Innocence girlies that I figured would work perfectly together - who doesn't search for shells on the beach when they are on holidays?  An old 6x6 paper pad from Cosmo Cricket, "Salt Air" was discovered and used  - I love how the shapes on the paper mimic the shape of the shell...

I also used this week's RetroSketches sketch:

That's it for me today - I hope you will play along with our "tropical destination" challenge.  If you can't go to the beach, why not imagine yourself there while making a card?  :)  Later, gators!

{SSSC172}

Hello again, everyone! It's been a crazy week - the boys were on Fall Break and so the DH and I decided to leave them with my mom and dad and we took off to Vegas for 4 days.  It's been a long time since we have taken a vacation without the kids so we really made the most of it.  :)

But never fear!!!  Even a Vegas Vacation can't stop me from getting a card done for the newest Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I'm not sure how Karen does it week after week coming up with these amazing sketches but I have a feeling this one will be in my go-to file:

Due to some time restraints, I decided to go VERY CAS... some buttons and stitching are about the only embellishing on this card:

All of the fabulous Sweet Sunday Stampers have inspiration for you, so please stop by and say hello to:

Jackie Pedro (she's taking a break this week but I know she'd love for you to stop by)

... and don't forget our Guest Sweet Sunday Stamper, Carole Burrage!!

Thanks for stopping in today - enjoy your week and I hope you will play along with us at the SSSC!

4CCC-116 {Winter}

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..."  Hello everyone!  Does this accurately describe where you live?  It sure does apply to the weather here in Central Alberta...over the last week or so we've received an awful lot of the white stuff.  Before we know it, it will be December and Christmas will be well upon us... *sigh*

This week over at the 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge, Tamie is our hostess-extraordinaire and she would like to see your winter-inspired creations. Have fun with the possibilities of scrapbook layouts, 3D projects, altered art...

For my card, I used last week's sketch from RetroSketches and some paper from BasicGrey's "Nordic Holiday" collection:

4CCC-115 {Sketch} & PDCC156

Hello Crafty Peeps!  It's a cold, wintry day here in Central Alberta - the perfect kind of day to stay inside and craft!  Luckily for you, I have a fabulous sketch for you all to play with over at the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge...

As always, don't feel limited to use the shapes and elements in *exactly* the way they are on the sketch - be creative and step outside the box.

For my card, I made a masculine birthday card using last week's color combo from the Play Date Cafe:

Thanks for stopping by - stay warm today wherever you are!

{SSSC171} & {CQC161}

Welcome back!  How does life seem to get so crazy-hectic this time of year?  It seems like I *just* feel like I've gotten my ducks in a row and I turn around and they've scattered again!  I'll tell you what, though, I am sure looking forward to a quick trip away with my husband - Vegas, here we come!  We're only going to be there for four days but they are much needed days away...thanks mom and dad for keeping the boys!

So, it's time for another stunning Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge from Karen and she's come up with another beauty...easy to go CAS or layers upon layers - you decide:

I used the Colour Q combo to make a CAS birthday card - I {heart} a combo that includes black:

4CCC-114 {A Day To Remember} & RS35 & PDCC155

Happy First Day of November!!!  Can you believe there are only two months left in 2012 before we start writing 2013 on our cheques?  That is, unless the Mayans are right... ;)

So, this first day of November also brings us a brand new 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge and this week Leanne is our hostess extraordinaire.  She has given us a theme of "A Day to Remember."  I think this theme is pretty wide open for interpretation so have fun and be creative.

For my card, I wanted to make a card that could be used for a variety of different occasions so decided to pull out the old Stampin' Up! standby, "Lovely as a Tree," and combine The Play Date Cafe's combo from last week with the RetroSketches sketch:

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your weekend and don't forget about a brand new Sweet Sunday Sketch on Sunday!  See you then!
