4CCC-113 {Halloween}

Happy Halloween!  I know it's not *quite* Halloween but this week at the 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge, it's what we want to see from you all!  Lori is our hostess-with-the-mostest and she wants to see all the spooky ghoulishness you can throw our way.

For my card, I decided to go CAS again and found a great sketch over at RetroSketches and a fun color combo from Arielle and the girls over at Colour Q:

I used my wonderful Spider Web border die from There She Goes - you'd think it wouldn't be that difficult to cut it out and glitter it up but HOLA!  What a process that was!  I started out by putting some 2" Sookwang tape on Tangerine Tango cardstock and then trying to cut through it but it wouldn't go through the whole way. So, I thought I'd put the glitter on first and then cut through it.  That wasn't much easier but it did work...here's a close-up of the web and skull:

I hope you will play along with us over at the 4 Crafty Chicks.  Have fun and, remember, the scarier the better!

{SSSC170) & {PDCC154}

Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful fall weather - this is my absolute favorite time of the year...nothing better than the crunchy leaves underfoot and the chill in the morning air.  Our forecast for this week even has the possibility of some of the white stuff!  Not sure I'm ready for *that* but it will sure make things pretty.

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch and Karen's got a fun one for you this week:

As you can see, I rotated it, made the circle a star, the banners became jingle bells and the big square isn't so big.  So, the same, but different.  ;)  Some blue and silver glitter adorn the star (with some Crystal Effects to keep the glitter from disappearing) and the jingle bells hang from some silver cord:

The color combo is from the Play Date Cafe's 3rd Anniversary celebration - flame, grape and mulberry.  My red is a bit more subdued than *flame*, and the grape isn't really *grape-y* and the mulberry is a bit more *indigo* but...:)

All of the fabulous Sweet Sunday Stampers have inspiration for you, so please stop by and say hello to:

Dana White (she's taking a break this week but I know she'd love to have you stop by!)

... and our amazing Guest Sweet Stamper, Mindy Backes!

Thanks for stopping by today - enjoy your week and I hope you will play along with this versatile sketch. :)

4CCC-112 {Dry Embossing} & RS33 & CR84FN65

Hello everyone! It's time for another 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge and this week Tamie is our hostess-with-the-mostest and she's challenging us to use dry embossing on our creations!  That should be super-simple for everyone with so many different embossing folders out there...

I didn't have a lot of time to put this card together so I decided to go CAS again...what is the world coming to?  I used to have layer upon layer and now...?

I used this week's CR84FN Color Challenge combo as well as the sketch from RetroSketches:

Have fun with the dry embossing - can't wait to see your creations!  Thanks for stopping by!

4CCC-111 {Tag! You're It!}

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I think that Mother Nature is getting us ready for winter...we got our first snowfall yesterday and it is downright chilly!  But never fear - crafting doesn't happen outside so there's no excuse for not playing along with another fun-tastic 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge!  This week, I'm your hostess-with-the-mostest and I've got a fun one for you..."Tag! You're It!"  Show us your cards with tags or a tag all on its own - the choice is up to you!

I decided to stamp my main image on a tag and play along with the Colour Q combo and this month's Sketch For You To Try - don't you love them both?

The main image is from a fun Halloween set from There She Goes - the spider web border die is one of theirs too - love!!  I hope you will find some time to play along with us this week - I can't wait to see how you incorporate tags into your creations!

{SSSC169} & {CQC157}

Welcome back everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, wherever you are - we've gone to visit my parents for Thanksgiving and I am soooooo looking forward chowing down on some pumpkin pie and turkey.  Nothing better than the smell of a turkey roasting in the oven.... But you didn't come to hear me ooh and aah over food, did you?

Karen's got an amazing Sweet Sunday Sketch for you all to play with for the next two weeks - try and step out of your box for this one if you can.  We love to see how you interpret the basic sketch and make it your own:

For my cards (yes, I made two...), I used Arielle's Colour Q combo - a perfectly lovely assortment of colors to pay homage to Breast Cancer Awareness month:

And because I wasn't *thrilled* with the first card (I should have used vanilla instead of white), I took another stab at it ~ kind of the same, but different.  I'm crazy, I know...

All of the fabulous Sweet Sunday Stampers have inspiration for you, so please stop by and say hello to:

... and this week's Guest Sweet Stamper, Tracy MacDonald!!!

Thanks for stopping by - Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends.  :)  Enjoy the week!

4CCC-110 {Thanksgiving} & RS31 & CR84FN64

Welcome back, everyone!  Here we go with another 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  This upcoming Monday is Thanksgiving here in Canada so Leanne, this week's hostess-with-the-mostest, has given us the theme of "Thanksgiving" to use as inspiration for this week's creations.

I decided to go pretty literally with this one and make a thank you card.  This is the last challenge for DT submissions over at the CR84FN Color Challenge and look at the gorgeous combo they've got for us to play with...LOVE IT!

I don't get to play along with RetroSketches very often, but when I do, it's always a treat 'cause they come up with amazing ones like this:

A fairly CAS card with lots of fun, bright papers:

If you have time, we'd love to have you join us for this week's challenge - I know it's a bit early for all my American friends, but think of it as a head-start... :)  See you on Sunday for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch!
