Christmas Botanicals

Hello! I hope those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a good one! We had two wonderful ones with lots of family and friends.

I have a couple of cards to share with you today that I made with a cute stamp set from Memory Box called Christmas Botanicals.

I have been wanting to try coloring on kraft card stock for some time now. I've seen so many pretty cards done this way, so I finally found some time to give it a try. I stamped the wreath with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I added some white highlights with a white Prismacolor pencil. I also speckled it with some white acrylic paint when I was finished.

I stamped the sentiment in the center of the wreath... very carefully... then I cut the whole panel out with a stitched rectangle die,  and layered it onto a card that I had covered with some red gingham paper.

And here is another one I did in more Kay style :) The background is Peacock Feathers distress ink on watercolor paper. Again, I colored the wreath with Copic markers, and added a few tiny white dots with acrylic paint. I cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die. I created some background paper to mount this on by randomly stamping images from this set in red ink onto the coral card stock.

I added a few clear sequins and a sentiment in black!

Here is a photo of a couple more backgrounds I created with some of the stamps in this set. So fun! I don't know what I'm going to do with them yet though!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! The products I used are listed and linked below!

Hugs,

Kay :)

I hope you will take a look by clicking on the link below or the graphic! Enjoy!

I also have a new project up on the Poppystamps blog!

Let yourself be inspired by Lisa's  card, and create a card that includes die cutting (all forms accepted). This was such a fun card to CASE!
 Here's what I did:

I first covered my white card base with patterned paper, then I cut a stitched panel from white card stock. Next I did cut all the flowers and leaves and added them with foam tape. I then cut the sentiment die three times and glued them all together before adhering it to the card.

Festive Friday Reminder

Hello my friends!

I hope you have all had a wonderful week!

I just wanted to remind you that there is still time to join the challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo for this time around. I did a fairly simple card this time :)

I kept it fairly simple, but wanted to pick up the brown/gold tones in the photo along with the white.

I adhered a strip of patterned paper down the side of my white mat, glued the die cut pine border along that and added the snowflakes with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps- snowflake Flurries- Papertrey Ink
Paper- stripe- Pink Paisley, white- Pure Luxury GinaK Designs
Dies- snowflake- WPlus9, pine border- Memory Box

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

Thank so much for stopping by!

I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Guest Designer for The Cutting Edge!

Good Saturday Morning!

I am super excited to share with you the wonderful news that I was chosen as one of the guest designers for the new challenge The Cutting Edge! Yippee! I'm so thrilled to be chosen, as there were so many beautiful cards entered. It's quite an honor :) When I first heard about this challenge on Jackie's blog, I was so excited, as die cuts and my cameo are my favorite things when it comes to card making! I LOVE cutting stuff out! I have bins, bags, and boxes of stuff I've cut out just waiting to be added to a card!

The first challenge starts June 28! I hope you will play along with us!

Well, I can't just announce something and run off without leaving something for you to look at, so here's a card I made this week using some dies that I love!

The leafy thing die is from Memory Box, the big flower and button are from My Favorite Things, and then small flowers are from Impression Obsession. The sentiment is from Verve.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hope you have a wonderful and safe weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Festive Friday #23

Hello and happy Friday!

I can't believe another week has flown by! They go by way too fast these days.

I am so super excited to be posting my card for the first Festive Friday challenge of 2014! This year Meredith is doing things a little bit different with a photo for inspiration instead of a theme prompt. This first photo is gorgeous and inspired me to pull out some of my new Christmas goodies :)

I am a bit tired of the snow for the year, but I still think this photo is so pretty and I still love my snow and snowflake stamps :) I never seem to get tired of those.

So here is what I came up with!

I am so happy with the way this card turned out. I just love the white trees in the background with the cute little house. I started with a card base of Sahara Sand ( SU). I then die cut the stitched panel (Lil Inkers) and added the white trees (Impression Obsession) then the country landscape (Memory Box) and then added the house (Memory Box) I cut the roof, windows and door out of different colored card stock and glued them on to the house. I then added the last white layer of snow and stamped the greeting ( Papertrey Ink).

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday for the very first challenge!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I am looking forward to spending a relaxing day tomorrow playing and crafting with my favorite little girl :) The UPS man FINALLY made it to my house with my packages, and we have some fun things to play with! Maybe I can get some pictures to share with you next week!

Hugs,

Kay :)
