Bwak Bwak

Hi all!  Today I have a card made using the latest from Retro Sketches:

ColorMeHappy1

I don’t know exactly why, but the Bwak Bwak sentiment just cracks me up!!  All stamps are from the Color Me Happy stamp set from A Muse|Studio and the papers are from the Sweet Shoppe paper pad from Lily Bee Design.  I stamped the chick with black Memento ink and colored with Copics.  The bottom heart scallop was done with an old Martha Stewart border punch and the Bold Banner is from Mama Elephant.  I shortened the banner by cutting it into 2 pieces and layering them together – you can barely tell!

One great thing about this card – it’s for any occasion because Bwak Bwak could mean anything!  I hope you like it and TFL!

Thanks for all you do

Hi all!  The new Moxie Fab challenge is up and it’s all about stencils.  Here’s what I came up with:

Tool-Rific1

First I sponged 3 Distress Inks onto a white cardstock panel.  Then I lightly misted the Garden Vines stencil with water and placed it over the sponged panel.  I let it sit for a little while and when I lifted it off, there was this ghost impression left behind by the water reacting with the Distress Inks.

I finished off the card with a sentiment from the A Muse|Studio set Tool-Rific, a tiny clothespin also from A|S and a little bit of sewing thread.

This is also for Color Throwdown – Brilliant Blue, Perfect Plum, and Bermuda Bay (I matched the SU! colors to the Distress Inks as closely as I could).  I hope you like it and TFL!

For You

Hi all!  I was reorganizing some things in my craft room this weekend and came across a bunch of a muse|studio products I haven’t used in a long time and some new stuff I just got.  I came up with this card:

 BeautifulBotanicals2

The silhouette is from Beautiful Botanicals 2 and the sentiment is from Aren’t You Sweet.  I stamped the flower with Versamark ink and embossed with Hero Arts white EP on a piece of watercolor paper.  Then I sponged some Distress Inks over the whole panel and spritzed with water to get a watercolor look and blend.  The result was somewhat faded looking so I repeated the process to make the colors a little brighter.  After drying with my heat tool, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I took a little scrap of watercolor paper and applied some wet Distress Inks to it and punched out a Martha Stewart butterfly.  I added a|s pearls and bits of black paper.  The black dotted cardstock is retired a|s and the twine is also from a|s.

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and this is also for Virginia's View Challenge – watercoloring.  I hope you like it and TFL!

How Ya' Bean?

I have another non-Valentine's card for you today:

I used The Perfect Blend set from a·muse|studio and the Day 6 sketch from Card Positioning Systems. I paper pieced just the bottom portion of the cup and did some shading with Copics.

This is also for Paper Sundaes - "Sundae Bar" (I used cream, blue and distressing), and Cupcake Craft - use twine (my twine is from Papertrey Ink). I hope you like it and TFL!

Fairy Tink

Today I have a card made for the iCopic Weekly Challenge - red hair. I've never done red hair with Copics before, so this really was a challenge for me. Luckily I got a nice color combo off the internet and was able to do my first auburn/red hair coloring:

FairyTink1
I used Fairy Tink from The Greeting Farm. I bought her as a rubber single, but it appears she's now only available as part of the Fairy Princess clear set. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday and the patterned papers are all from the Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends Mini Deck.

I paper pieced her dress and used some old Stickles on her wings. The sentiment is from a·muse|studio and the bracket edger and doily dies are from My Favorite Things.

The colors I used for her hair were E13, E17, E18 and E19.

This is also for the following challenges: I hope you like it and TFL!

More a|s

I decided to take another stab at the A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA Challenge 6 and here's what I came up with:

SamplerSetOneThree1
Instead of a flat background, I made a medallion to represent the sky and grass. I added a paper pieced tree and sentiment from Sampler Set One and a little bird from Sampler Set Three. BTW - the tree can be found in the "woodland friends" set, the sentiment is from "vintage a muse" and the bird is from "avian notes."

This is also for Simon Says Stamp - use dies and/or punches (I used a Fiskars punch to make my medallion), and Pile It On - Fancy Folds. I hope you like it and TFL!

a|s!!

It's official! I am now a consultant for a·muse|studio!! If you're not familiar with a·muse|studio, you can check out the regular 2011 catty and the Holiday 2011 catty online!

Here's my first card made almost entirely with my starter kit:

SamplerSetOne1
The only things I added were thread for machine stitching and a few foam boosters. The clouds, kite and sentiment are all from the Sample Set One and all the cardstock, ink and ribbon came from my deluxe kit.

I made this for the A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA Challenge 6: Fun with paper! We're supposed to use paper in a new or unexpected way. Hmmm... I think I've seen just about everything that can be done with paper, so I just did my best here! I paper pieced *everything* on this card (even those itty bitty kite tails) and I fringed and smushed up the gingham paper to make the grass.

This is also for Truly Scrumptious - Clean and Simple. I hope you like it and TFL!
