Best Day Ever

Hi all!  I have a card for a few challenges today:

BestDay1

I stamped Best Day with Versamark ink and embossed with clear powder.  I taped the piece down to a board and watercolored with coral and green dye inks smushed on my craft sheet and mixed with some water.  I heated it until it was dry and die cut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  I finished the card off with some MFT patterned paper and gold sequins.

This is for the following challenges:

I also hope you like it and TFL!

Inspiration Pic

Hi all!  Yesterday I got a Brighton catalog in the mail and was immediately drawn to this large handbag:

BrightonInspiration

I was so inspired, I decided to make a card based on it.  Here’s what I came up with:

LargePeonyOne1

I used The Ton’s Large Peony 1 and Fresh Cut Dahlias (sentiment), the Folk Art Medallion set from WMS, and also the Circular Lattice stencil from Prima.  I sponged white pigment ink through the stencil to make a guide for my stamping.  I then stamped 2 different little motifs from the Medallion set to make up the background.

I stamped the peony on watercolor paper and watercolored with Distress Inks (Festive Berries and Black Soot), then cut it out with my ScanNCut2.  I added the sentiment on a fishtail banner, then popped up the peony with foam tape.

This is for SSS Work It Wednesday – Thank you cards and Shopping Our Stash – no patterned paper.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Jam in my Doughnut

Hi all!  Today I’m playing in the Waltzingmouse Pajama Party.  I’ve chosen Challenge #2 (a color challenge) and here’s what I came up with:

DinkyDoughnuts1

I used my new sets Dinky Doughnuts and a couple of sentiment pieces from We Go Together.

I stamped the 2 doughnut parts using my MISTI and colored in the jam with a Tombow marker.  Then I mounted the first half of the sentiment in my MISTI and colored just the word “jam” with the same red marker.  I inked up the rest of the sentiment with my chocolate inkpad and also stamped the word “doughnut” with the same inkpad and my MISTI. I hope you like it and TFL!

Folk Art Medallion

Hi all!  Today I have a card set made that I’ve wanted to do for a loooooooooong time!  I got the Folk Art Medallion stamp set a while back, but was never able to get a really solid, perfect image from the big medallion stamp.  Now with my MISTI, every one is perfect!

FolkArtMedallion2

I stamped some of this on the MISTI, and some with blocks, and I filmed the process.  There are also a couple tips on stamping with difficult images.  Hope it helps!

This is also for Cute Card Thursday – Stamping Mad (use a stamp) and SSS Wednesday Challenge – Anything Goes.  TFL!

Thinking of You

Hi all!  Today I have a card for a few challenges:

IMG_2732

I used the partial die cutting technique with the Flap Happy stamps and Butterflies 3 dies.  I also paper pieced the butterflies.  I stamped the background paper and the right strip of cardstock with the same sentiment from Compact Sentiments - Part Two.  Finally the side panels were adhered with foam tape.

This is for the following challenges:

WMS December PJ Party, Post #5

PAJAMA-PARTY-LOGO_thumb[1]
Hi all!  Ok, this is my last project for the Pajama Party.  This is for Challenge #4 – sketch:
PAJAMA-PARTY-sketch-9
And here’s my card:
Labels4 6

I used 3 different WMS sets for this card: Very Vintage Labels No. 4 (frame), Gift Card It (sentiment), and Vintage Circles, Small (tree).

Here’s how I made the tree – I stamped and image from Vintage Circles onto striped green paper and cut it out with a petite scalloped circle die.  Then I cut it up so I had a triangle shape, plus a little bit extra on each side.  I folded the extra bits to the back and taped them together, then I glued in a little scrap of brown cardstock for the trunk.  I hope you like it and TFL!

WMS December PJ Party, Post #4

Hi all!  Here’s my 4th project for the Pajama Party (this is for Challenge #3 - Old Pajamas):
VeryVintageChristmas4
Once again, I used the Very Vintage Christmas stamp set (can you tell I just love this set?!).  I cut a panel from kraft cardstock with my Zing and stamped it with the tag image in white ink.  I also stamped a sentiment from the same set.  I added a bow and set it aside.
Next I die cut a white cardstock panel and stamped it all over with the snowflake from the set in light blue ink.  Then I put all the pieces together to make my card.
The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches.  This is also for Little Red Wagon – So Flaky.  I hope you like it and TFL!

PAJAMA-PARTY-LOGO_thumb[1]

Hi all!  I’m back with another PJ Party post.  This is another entry for Challenge #2 – Make an ornament:

VeryVintageChristmas3

I used Very Vintage Christmas again, but decided to showcase my 2 boys’ school pictures.  I cut out the frame shape with my Zing and stamped and embossed with gold.  I stamped a little tag with 2014 and added a bow on top.  I hope you like it and TFL!

WMS December PJ Party, Post #2

PAJAMA-PARTY-LOGO_thumb[1]

Here’s a project for Challenge #2 for the Pajama Party – Make a Tree Ornament:

VeryVintageChristmas1

I used Very Vintage Christmas for the sentiment, leaves and berries.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink on white cardstock and embossed with gold EP, then cut out with a circle die.  I stamped a ton of the 2 different leaves and colored them with Copics.  Then I fussy cut them all out and put them off to the side.

I used 2 circle dies to cut a piece of thin chipboard to make a circular frame and glued the leaves to it to make the wreath.  I then stamped the berry cluster 3 times, colored with Copics, and fussy cut out.  I added a bow of May Arts ribbon and a hanging string of rustic twine.  BTW – you can’t tell, but I adhered the wreath to the sentiment with foam dots for dimension.  I hope you like it and TFL!

WMS December PJ Party, Post #1

PAJAMA-PARTY-LOGO_thumb[1]

Hi all!  Today is the Waltzingmouse December Pajama Party – yay!  So I’m going to be putting up a series of posts for it – hope you don’t mind! Winking smile

This is for Challenge #1 – 3D Christmas tree.

VeryVintageChristmas2

I used the Large Tree dies from Some Assembly Required.  I stamped a whole sheet of vellum with the snowflake from Very Vintage Christmas, then die cut all the tree pieces from the sheet.  I assembled according to the instructions and made the box, also according to the instructions.  I stamped a sentiment from Very Vintage Christmas on the box and embossed in white and stuck a battery powered tea light candle inside.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Christmas Wishes

Hi all!  Today I have a card for several challenges:

TinyVioletFairy1

I used the super cute Tiny Violet Fairy, but colored her to be a poinsettia fairy instead!  The sentiment is from Very Vintage Christmas.  I stickled her wings and added pom-pom trim around the focal panel.

This is for the following challenges:

Season’s Greetings

Hi all!  Today I have a card for a couple challenges:

ColdXmasDays1

I used the Ppinky Dolls image called Cold Days, a sentiment from Very Vintage Christmas, and the sketch from Sketch Saturday.

The image was printed with my laser printer and colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink and the papers are really old from a company no longer around, Daisy Bucket.

This is also for the Ppinky Dolls Facebook challenge – Winter Shabby Chic.  Hope you like it and TFL!

Just wanted to say…

PAJAMA-PARTY-LOGO_thumb[1]

Hi all!  Today I have a tag that I made for the November Waltzingmouse Pajama Party.  I decided to go with Challenge #1 – Scandinavian Tags.  Now I didn’t really know what that meant, but the challenge mentioned Red and White and recommended the Folk Art sets, so I went with those:

 FolkArtMedallion1

I used the Folk Art Medallion set that I won from Waltzingmouse Stamps (thanks again, Claire!!).  I cut a white tag using a Tim Holtz die and a scrap of red cardstock.  The images on the red were embossed in white and the red on the white tag is Stampin’ Up! Real Red ink.  I finished off the tag with a little bit of white twill.

This is also for Little Red Wagon – monochromatic.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Season’s Greetings

PAJAMA-PARTY-LOGO_thumb[1]

Hi all!  Today I have a card for the October Waltzingmouse Pajama Party, specifically the sketch challenge (BTW – I know I’m missing the little bits on the focal panel, but I just couldn’t bear to add anything else to this card!):

GiftCardIt1

I used Gift Card It for the sentiment and Very Vintage Labels No. 18 for the framing image.  I cut it out with the matching Nesties – Labels 18 and popped it up on the card with a double layer of foam boosters.  The flags are cut with several fishtail flag dies that I have.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Oh, and this is also going to be sent to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  Won’t you play along too?

Boo!

Hi all!  I’ve got a card for several challenges today:

HalloweenCuties3

The candy corn image is from the YNS Halloween Cuties set and the face is from the Fun Faces set.  I got the word bubble from the WMS Boo and Friends set.  I stamped some candy corn near the bottom of the panel, then masked them off and stamped the rest of the candy corn.  I colored with Copics and then added the little face and sentiment.  Next I fussy cut along the bottom of the candy corn and mounted the whole panel with foam tape on black cardstock.  The card base is actually white cardstock so I don’t have to worry how to write inside it.

This is for the following challenges:

You’re An Angel

Hi all!  I haven’t done any non-DT stuff for a while, so here’s my attempt at getting back in the fun challenge game!

AnyaAngel7

I’ve been taking Alyce’s Skin and Hair coloring class over at Kit and Clowder and I’m seeing some definite improvement with my Copic coloring!  Unfortunately I haven’t done the clothing class yet so her dress and bow are a little messed up.

I used Angel Anya from The Greeting Farm and a sentiment from Fine Feathers from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I die cut the French Pastry Doily twice, once from white and once from pink cardstock.  I used my Evolution Advanced die cutting machine and it was super easy to do this technique: with the white cardstock, instead of using a shim to cut out all the details, I just turned the dial up a couple numbers to get it going through the machine really tight.  With the pink cardstock, I turned the dial down 1 number below my normal die cutting level so that the edges would cut out, but none of the details.  Then I glued the white cardstock over the pink and get all the pink details through the white doily without having to worry about all the little bits falling out!

Finally I added a bit of lace that I hand dyed with Distress Inks to match Anya’s hair.

This is for the following challenges:

I hope you like it and TFL!

PAJAMA-PARTY-LOGO_thumb[1]

Hi all!  Today I’m playing in the Waltzingmouse September Pajama Party.  Specifically Challenge 2 – Too Cute to Spook:

BooAndFriends1

I made a little pillow box that can hold some little treats or a gift card or money.  I used the Gift Card Pillow Box die set from Your Next Stamp and the Boo and Friends stamp set from WMS.  I also used the matching Boo die set to cut out the ghost and the Vamp die set to cut out the speech bubble.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Gallery Idol 2014

Hi all!  First off, hope you all had a nice Mother’s Day!  Hubby’s been taking care of me all day – how sweet!

Next, I have an entry into the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol open audition.  The theme is Decorative Tape so I busted out some of my neglected washi tapes and made this:

FrameIt1

I used the Frame It stamp set and my Flower Fun Two die set.

First I cut the flower shadow from white cardstock and then covered it with 3 different washi tapes in black and gold.  Then I ran it through with the die over it again to cut off all the excess tape.  I added the outline cut in gold cardstock from A Muse|Studio and a black Gum Drop from YNS.

This is also for Simon Says Stamp – Spring Flowers and Delightful Challenges – Petal Power.

I really love how this card came out and hope I make it into the Top 20!!  BTW, you can see all the entries HERE.  I hope you like it too and TFL!
