Sweet Burnt Sienna...

The brushwork on this $.49 find is beautiful!
I'm not sure if my photographs show
the beautiful crackle/crazing of the yellow...

I don't know anything about this little guy...
It doesn't have any markings~

Wouldn't a rust & ivory colored owl
look cute sitting inside this...
Hmmmm...who will find this in their stocking?

Still have my $5.
Used spare change on this one...

'til next blog~

Grand Daddy Inkwell & Other Finds...

Had LOADS of errands to run today...
With a $10. bill in my pocket, some extra change~
I made sure to stop by my favorite thrift stores!

I took some before shots...with the price markers,
I can't believe the price sometimes!
These are all in excellent condition, too~

The gold trim on this is near perfect...
So sweet!
Our girl claimed this one for her room~

I LOVE little ink wells...
You've seen them filled with Zinnias~
This is THE GRAND DADDY of inks!

It is dear~ for .$50 I found my
NEW favorite vase...
It has a pale, pale pinkish tint.

All cleaned up!
Treasures to share in Christmas baskets~

I'm pretty sure this is old...but looks new!
It has a blue stamp on the back that reads
Delft Blauw
Hand painted
Made in Holland
Has a crown over top of these words.

The creamer was the most expensive
at $1.29~
Still have $5.00 left...

Until you read the next blog...

Sweet Owl...

Have loved owls since I was a kid~

I do not decorate "in owl"
I do not have minis, paintings or figurines...
But this old little napkin ring was sweet
(and practically free!)

Our cats think it is a toy made
especially for them~
We have all napkin rings stored away
because of their playful whims...

Patina Postcards...

Somewhere in the middle of our chair project~
While we were waiting for help from our saw-man...
;)
We took a little time to CLEAN these
bargain postcards...

Little bit of mold...WHOLE LOT of dust, dirt...
gorgeous antique~patina that we could
never get to look so good!

Can't just let them rot away!

Because we would have missed this!

And this...

Treasures & sweet words...

Rare & old...

Endearing...

Beautiful foundations for some
wonderful decoupage, collage~

Before bed...2 antihistamine tabs & a cup of tea!

Bitty Treasures...

Debra~ I found it!
Your charming little bowl inspired me
to search out a similar one I had found
in the bottom of a box from auction.

The auction "this n' that" box was stuffed full
of heavy old frames, stoneware,
antique kitchen utensils...etc.
There in the bottom...covered in dust
thick enough to make this little treasure
black...it sat! Chip free & charming!

I discovered the spoon for $.10 somewhere
else...can't you picture a wee little mouse
sipping some yummy stew? Napkin tucked
in a small curl at the tip of its tail?

On this chilly day~
I should invite a kind
critter in for tea!

Vintage & Blue...

If you could see my studio right now...
WHAT A MESS!
Yet more IDEAS jumping around...

When I was working as a
watercolor artist/crafter/momma of wee ones
(pre-licensing)
I made the cutest snowmen from
white boys socks turned inside out~
tea/coffee dyed.

I used the toes through arch area of
our worn colored socks for hats~

Cut a thin strip of the top elastic part,
stretched it out & they made scarves.

Button eyes, carrot noses made from
Sculpy bake hard clay, real twig arms.

Wouldn't those snowman look dear in these
vintage melamine cups?

Maybe pin cushions?

Or...perhaps I should put them in the
kitchen cupboard & use them
for what they're meant to be...
I seem to break the
ceramic ones we have!
Teehee....
The more I break, the less I wash!
