15 Days of the Holdays - Day 3

Hello, Christine here--and sharing day three of our 15 days of the Holidays Mini Albums.  I don't make many mini's--but after making this Holiday album, I see more mini's in my future.

My album:  I used a 4 x 5 Memory Book.  It started with 18 pages, however I glued pages together to create a chipboard thickness type book.  I have a total of 5 layout pages.

My cover.

For my album I used Mistletoe Theme Set. I also used a Digital image by Mabelle R O, Whimsy & Stars Studio.

Layout One of 5

So do you have plans to make a Holiday Mini Album?  I know I am looking forward to adding photos from this Christmas to my mini album.  I hope I have inspired you to make your own.  Check out the dollar bins for alterable books, albums etc.

May your Christmas be a blessing this year and the many years ahead.

God Bless,

--Christine

30 Days 30 Cards - Day 1

I am so excited to launch our 30 Days, 30 Cards.  Today, I am using Retro Sketches #15.   What I love about sketches are they get you started.  You can flip it, turn it, rearrange it---it's all up to interpretation!

Here is my card that I did using today's sketch.  I wanted to do a vintage card using my Authentique 6x6 Paper Pad - Festive, the palette is gorgeous! Be sure to check out MemoryWorks, for all your paper-crafting needs!
Well, I hope I have inspired you with my sketch of choice, my paperline and my card.  Be sure to stop back every day this month for more TeamWork design team 30 days/30 card sketches and ideas!

Challenge Me Wednesday-TH Distress Markers

Hello, its me Christine.  I am so excited to post another Tim Holtz Distress Marker Challenge Card.   I found that my favorite technique is coloring on rubber images with the markers.  I love, love, love the look it gives.  Smiles.

How to: Apply various colors of Distress Markers to the stamp image using the side of the brush tip to colorize.  Repeat with various colors as needed.  Huff warm breath over the stamp and stamp the image on your cardstock.  Using a water brush, paint over the stamped image with water to react with the distress marker ink.  Optional: blend the white space with color.

October Challenge: Let's get Techie w/Tim!

Hello, it's teamworks designer, Christine Pennington.  I have the privilege of hosting this month's challenge:  Stamp -or- Scrap w/ distress markers!

I was so excited when MW decided to carry some of Tim's Holtz's distress markers.  If you have not seen what they are all about, here is an awesome video by Tim.  Please take the time to view the entire video, there is so much valuable information.

I had a lot of fun creating my card. Here are the steps I did to make my Techie w/Tim challenge project.

Step one: I embossed a tag with one of Tim's embossing folders.

Step two: I laid down some color on my craft mat using distress marker Faded Jeans.  I wanted a watercolor effect so I added drops of water next to my ink.  Using a paint brush, I painted color on the non raised areas.

Step Three:  I dabbed Picket Fence Distress Stain on the raised part of the tag {the snowflakes}.

Step Four: I added Crystal Stickles & Distress Antique Bronze Stickles to the snowflakes.

Step Five:  I used a negative from a piece of cardstock that I cut snowflakes out of with Tim Holtz's Movers & Shakers snowflake dies.  I traced/colored a snowflake using Faded Jeans Distress Marker.  To keep with the watercolor look, I spritz the snowflake with water.  In this photo you start to see what I made with a piece of the tag I did my technique on.

I sure hope I have inspired you to make something fun with Tim's products...I can't wait to see what you all come up with month.  One lucky consultant will win a prize from the home office! Good luck!

Supplies:  BoBonny Mistletoe, Vanilla Tag, Ivory, White & Blue Cardstock, Tim Holtz Snowflake EB folder and dies, Tim Holtz Distress Marker Faded Jeans, Picket Fence Distress Stain, Crystal Stickles, Distress Antique Bronze Stickles, Pleated & Satin Ribbon, Bo Bunny Brad, & Pearls

Express Kit Monday: Campout w/DT Day Two!

Hello, its Christine back again for our last August Express Kit Monday!  I know I have personally loved seeing all the fun things to do with this kit & have loved working with it.  The colors are SO fun!

Today, I am here to show some more projects that Jenn, Sheri and I did.  Last Monday, I showcased cards, this week I am showcasing layouts and altered items.

First up this week is Jenn.  I just love her mini album!  I love that she also showed that the layouts don't have to be outdoor or camping pages.

Next up is Sheri.  Sheri's layouts are always so amazing!

Last up is me, Christine.  I kept it clean and simple.  No surprises there, huh?

Well there you have it, I hope you enjoyed our projects and that we have inspired you to make some fall pretties too.

Blessings,
