Day 13: 30 Days, 30 Cards

Wow… I can't believe we are already on Day 13!  What amazing cards we have from the MemoryWorks Design Team right?  I hope everyone is enjoying the inspiration and are also taking on the challenge of making all the cards.
Today, I thought I would share with you a sketch I found on Cardabilities!  Here is the sketch…
Using the Simple Stories Handmade Holiday's 12x12 paper pad, I was able to come up with my take on the sketch.
First, I started with cutting white card stock 4 1/4 x 11 1/2.  I then folded the card stock in half to make the card.  Next, I spritzed a chevron mask with Glimmer Mist for the background.  I used my die-cut machine to cut edges and borders from the papers and the holly for the front.  I then inked the edges of everything and went to town layering all the papers.  I also made a pocket so you could add an invite as I did or perhaps you would want to add a gift card!  As you can see, I've added baker's twine and ribbon to the tag as well.
To finish off the card, I added pop dots to the holly to lift it off the page.  I also used a white pen to give the berries a little dimension.

I hope you have enjoyed my little bit of fun and come back tomorrow as our Talented Team Member Sheri shows us some more inspiration!

Day 7: 30 Days, 30 Cards

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 7 of our 30 Days, 30 Cards.  I am happy to be here to show you another card idea.  My inspiration came from Cardabilities.  I loved all the layers of this card!  Here is the sketch.
Here is my version of the card.  I started with different cuts from my die-cut machine with red and green card stock layered on embossed white card stock.  I added baker's twine before I adhered it all.  I also made several cuts to make the poinsettia.  I layered the cuts, inked all the pieces, misted the edges then raised it off the paper.  I cut the striped paper at 1" and put across the card and another piece just slightly under it.  I cut the salutation and placed it on the card.  I added Stickles for a little bling and sprayed the card with Glimmer Mist.

Here is a close-up of the poinsettia…
A view of the salutation!

Day 3: 30 Days, 30 Cards

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 3 of our 30 Days, 30 Cards.  I am happy to be here to show you another card idea.  My inspiration came from RetroSketches.  I was excited to see sleek simple lines for a quick and easy card.  Here is the sketch.
For my interpretation of the card, I started with some craft colored cardstock, followed by some My Mind's Eye Mistletoe Magic Washi Tape.  Then I added a few strips of paper from the Simple Stories December Documented - 6x6 Pad.  Next I used my die-cut machine and created the saying "Deck the Halls" and layered it off the paper a smidge with popdots.  I couldn't stop there so I added some We R Memory Keepers Red Baker's Twine followed by another die-cut of a wreath.  I love a little bling so I added Stickles in a few spots.  I might also mention I inked all the edges of the papers used, with Tim Holtz inks.
I hope you have enjoyed today's card and don't forget to come back tomorrow for some more inspiration from Design TeamMember Cathy.  Also, make sure you check out 30 Days, 30 Cards page and see how you can win a prize!

MW August Challenge Me Wednesday - "Going Places"

Hi everyone... Janey here!  The day isn't over yet, so I think I am just under the wire to share with you the challenge for this month!  Challenge: "Going Places" - To include a layout using signs, post cards and/or maps showing the different places we have gone or done this summer (even if it's a staycation)!
Here is what I was able to create from one of our recent trips.  I used product from MW Express Kits that I subscribe to.  I cut trees and mountains as well as the jeep, signs and map silhouette.  I inked the edges of everything, using my Tim Holtz inks.  I used washi tape from my stash and Stickles for a little bling.  The journaling is on my "postcard" from Simple Stories stash.  I had fun layering everything until I got the desired look.  I used pop-dots to help give a little dimension in a few spots.

Won't you join us for this month's challenge?  I'd love to see what you come up with.  There is plenty of time to submit a challenge entry on the Memory Works Studio. The winner will get a prize!

Cards & Tags Thursday - Cute Summer Tags

Welcome back to another Cards & Tags Thursday with Katie!!  It's also Wedding Week here on the blog, so make sure you check out BOTH posts today!!

Today is also my son's 11th birthday.  We celebrated with family over the weekend and BBQ'd.  I thought that creating some fun tags for our lemonade glasses would be a nice touch to the party.

I used the tags in this months' Memory Works Express Kit as well as Simple Stories I Heart Summer stickers.

These were a fun summer time addition to a BBQ.

I added ribbon around the neck of a regular mason jar, and then tied the tags on with twine.  They were very cute and functional too.

Cards & Tags Thursday - Summer Time

Hi there - it's Katie, and I'm here to share some fun summer-time cards with you.
I used products from this month's MemoryWorks Express Kit!  It is full of summer fun!

I started out creating the sunshine.  I used one of the Summer Fresh (Simple Stories) Element Cards to mask the words.  I sprayed Mister Huey's mist over it.  I love the look of this.  (I really loved being out in the sunshine to photograph it!)

For this card, I started with the sentiment sticker.  Paired with this paper and the sticker, it's perfect.  I tied the hook sticker on with twine to create the floating in the water effect.

Both cards were a lot of fun to make, yet simple enough for these fun summer days!

Cards and Tags Thursday

Hi everyone!  As promised I am back today to share tags that I made using my MemoryWorks products.  First up I made this tag with the Simple Stories Documented line.  I used the 6x6 Paper pad to cut die cuts and flowers and then punched boarders from the various papers from this line.  I also used my Tim Holtz inks for the background and the edges of all the papers.  I added a little bling and ribbon from my stash to finish it off.  I also sprayed some Glimmer Mist over the entire tag.
Next... who doesn't need a tag to attach to a special gift for that BFF of yours?  I used a scrap piece from the Simple Stories Baby Steps for the bird and cardstock for the remaining pieces.  I cut the "home" tag from the Teresa Collins Vintage Finds and the remainder of the items were from my exclusive MemoryWorks stash!  I used the Tim Holtz inks around all the edges of all papers as well as Glimmer Mist over the top of the entire tag.
This next card was made with the 6x6 pad from the Aweso{ME} line.  I again inked all the edges of all the papers and just layered them to create the look I was looking for.  The ribbon, stars and wired flower were again from my MemoryWorks exclusive stash.  I sprayed Glimmer Mist over the entire tag.
My Cousin passed away this week and his wife asked if I could pick her up some thank you cards from  store for her.  I don't know about you, but I couldn't bring myself to purchase cards when I knew that I could make them.  So I made her twelve various cards and then wrapped them with a silky ribbon and added a little tag just for her.  She loved them!
I hope you have enjoyed the tags for this week!  Stay tuned for more fun inspiration from our MemoryWorks TeamWorks girls!
Enjoy and Keep on Scrappin'

Challenge Wednesday - April Challenge

Hi! It's Kelly here today to introduce the April Challenge. In honor of National Writing Month, the challenge is to 'Journal a Story'. You can interpret this anyway you like...but, are encouraged to include more journaling/details on your page than you normally would.  I'm not much of a journaler myself, so this is a bit tough for me.  I went with documenting a recent conversation that I had with my 2 year old...

The Good Stuff:

Supplies:
Simple Stories - Snap collection, American Crafts Mercantile Thickers, Fancy Pants Hopscotch letter stickers, staples, red journaler, green journaler

Consultants are to upload their projects to the MW Studio by April 30, and one lucky winner will receive a prize from the home office.  If you are not a consultant, you can link your project up right here in the comments, and you too can be eligible!  Let's hear your stories ;)
