Brody lately!

Brody is such a crack up! He is constantly saying and doing things that stop me right in my tracks.

A few weeks ago we were at my parents' house and my mom took us down to the basement to see some things they had done... they are finishing it! We walked down and bobby immediately saw the progress and said "nice!" All of a sudden, our little parrot began saying this. He would say "nice" to everything he saw after that. We went back upstairs and he saw my step-brother's snowboard, so he went and stood by it, took a good look, and said "nice!" (Now, this isn't just another word... it has that dragged on i sound, and his voice gets louder at the end... niiiiCE!) He sounds like a little man! This morning we were heading downstairs so I was putting on some pajama pants (oops! Did I just reveal that we don't sleep in pj's?!?) Brody looked up at me and said "Nice!" I'm glad he thought I looked good for our breakfast date!

While driving in the car one day, Bobby said "oh shoot!" Next thing we heard was...???? Any guesses? - "oh shoot!" Luckily, we don't use bad language in our house!!

With little boys come little noises! Every time Brody farts... or anyone for that matter, he will laugh and look at you as he says "bart!" It's so funny! While out to breakfast with my mom yesterday, Brody gave her a kiss and then gave her a hug. While hugging her he exclaims "bart!!" My mom said "oh, that's so sweet of you to fart while giving me a hug!" HA! Boys are so funny- and they will definitely be boys!

He will also say "ooh, stinky" while plugging his nose. If he has a poopy diaper and we say "ooh, stinky", he'll come over and plug our noses.

I will randomly take out Brody's little potty and have him sit on it while watching a movie, so today, that's just what I did! As soon as he sat down, he started taking his socks off and asked for water... Last time he was sitting there I put a bowl of warm water down for him to soak his feet in, ya know what warm water does! It works! But, I was so surprised that he remembered I had done that... it's been a while!

Happy Birthday, MOM!

Today is my Mom's Birthday! (46 to be exact!) I don't think she'll mind me telling her age, because age has never really mattered to her.. I mean, come on, she's still very young! She looks and acts just as young, too. I am so thankful for her, and couldn't have asked for a better mom. She raised me absolutely PERFECT! (don't you think! :)
Brody and I took her to Breakfast this morning- it was a lot of fun! She kept telling Brody we were going to have a "Birthday Party"... I love that she can turn the 3 of us going to breakfast at 9 am on a Thursday into a Birthday party!! She's so funny and energetic!
Throughout the years, my mom has taught me a lot... some of my favorite things/memories about her are:

- She is a VERY hard worker
- She loves to learn
- She became a DENTIST at the age of 45 AFTER being a Labor and Delivery Nurse for 13 years.

- She always told me "it's nice to be pretty, but more important to be nice" (I heard this a lot during JR. High- you know! The age when girls ONLY care about how they look!)
- She is always supportive
- She is a great example
- Loves to help others
- We went to Laguna Beach for Spring Break during my Senior Year... just the two of us. SHOPPING, Pedicures, Laying on the beach, for one whole week! It was the best!
- She loves Chips and Salsa... while on our Family Cruise 3 years ago, she and I were laying on the beach eating chips and salsa while everyone else was playing in the water... she looked at me and said... "Ahhh, this is the life!"
- She enjoys walking on the treadmill
- her house is ALWAYS clean
- her bed is always made (something I envy!)
- She is such a great Nana! Loves to play with Brody, and he loves her!
- She sang "In my daughter's eyes" by Martina McBride (?) at my wedding dinner. Surprised me with it! I loved it!!
- Flew to Utah numerous times to help with wedding stuff! Dress shopping was the best! And, we did it all in ONE day!
- Always wants to be with her family
- loves getting pedicures
- loves movies and games
- Fun, Loving, Smart, kind, helpful, BEAUTIFUL!, example, Christlike.... the list goes on!
...SHE'S THE BEST!

I love you mom! Thanks for all you do and for being you! I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!
Love, Lil' Miss

WOW!

In case you didn't notice... our little floating baby has LESS than 100 days to go! 96, to be exact! Can't wait to have him here! (Actually, we want to get Brody potty trained by that time... so I guess it's a good thing!) Brody is so excited to be a big brother. He lifts up my shirt (has to be bare skin, and sometimes he attempts this at not - so - great times!) and says hi baby! He then will kiss my belly, have Bobby kiss it, and try to make me bend in half to kiss it as well. I feel bad not being able to do this, but it's IMPOSSIBLE! He'll understand someday! :) When he's done, he'll put my shirt back to normal and say "bye baby!". Every time he hears a baby cry, or sees one, he yells BABY! He will give my new little nephew his Binky, and is so gentle with him. It's very cute to see him care so much about these little ones! It's funny though, because if you let him help hold my nephew, he'll hold him for a second, look at him nicely, and then push him away and say "no". HA! It's hilarious! I'm so excited to see him with his new baby brother! He's going to be so great at being a BIG BROTHER! We just love him!

Also, we just got home from an AMAZING California vacation to DISNEYLAND!! We loved it! I'll be posting about it with all of the pictures soon!!

"Football"

I was putting Brody down for bed last week when he sat up and started yelling "dadda, dadda". (He knows Bobby can hear him on the monitor and he will usually come in... Brody sometimes resorts to yelling "hunny!"- because I will usually yell that name!) So, as Brody had hoped, Bobby walked into his room. Brody then reaches for him saying in his "I know how to get my parents to do anything" voice... "dadda, dadda" Bobby picks him up and all of a sudden he says... "dadda, FOOTBALL!"
I'll say he knows exactly how to get to his daddy! I told Bobby, "I think you've trained him a little TOO well" and he then tells me, "no, just PERFECT!" I love my sweet boys and can't wait to have another! I've always wanted a house full of boys!

once again...

Our baby's sick :(

Luckily it's not the Stomach flu like last month, but there was some vomiting involved. WARNING: TMI about to be shared!

Last weekend Brody wouldn't eat much. We didn't think anything of it because he didn't have any symptoms of being sick- no fever, he was running and playing... etc. Monday morning (around 5:00) he came into our room (like usual) and he asked for his bottle (usual). He was laying in between us drinking while we tried to get a little more sleep. He then coughed (I was thinking he just got a little too much milk) and all of a sudden... he threw up and it went straight on my face, into my mouth. I got up- spitting- and wiped him off. (Funny how you don't mind getting puke on you when it's your own kid.) While I was cleaning him up with a towel, he looked at me and said "mommy, oh no, nose" I replied with "yeah, mommy's nose, it's ok" thinking I had a little white stuff at the tip of it. Little did I know, I was COVERED! I took him into the bathroom so we could get into the bath and I looked in the mirror to see throw up across my nose underneath my right eye. It covered about 1/4 of my face! I started laughing sooo hard! We got in the bath, cleaned off, and went back into our stripped down bed. Just then, Brody coughed again and out it came! Luckily, we had a towel underneath him! For the remainder of the day he was fine. He threw up 2 more times on Tuesday, and was fine Wednesday and most of Thursday when he threw up before bed. I took him into the Dr today and found out he has an ear infection. Poor baby! This explains why he was throwing up and not eating. Needless to say... without any food for the past week, he is weighing in at 24.5 pounds and is 33 inches tall! (I measured him as we were walking out!)

At his appointment this afternoon, he also had his hips x-rayed. He had his left foot x-rayed in October due to some complaining that it hurt. He has continued to say "owie" and pull at his foot since then. His Dr told me to let him know if Brody complained any more, so 3 months later (it hasn't been too much complaining!) I told his Dr about it and he wanted to just make sure that there weren't any hip problems going on. He checked his legs and looked at the arches in his feet... and everything looks great! The x-ray came back perfect! Bobby gave him a blessing last night, and I am so thankful for that! I'm glad he's doing so well and is an active little boy! We just love him!!

On the other hand, I picked Bobby up from work to help hold Brody while he got the x-ray done since I can't be in there because I'm pregnant. I heard him screaming in the room, and the lady came out saying " I'm going to find a nurse to help us out... he's out of control!" They had bobby and another lady holding him down for one x-ray. He DID NOT like it! Poor baby! He was up and running about 5 minutes after the x-ray!! We started his medication today, so hopefully he will start feeling normal again soon!

Christmas 2008 and New Year's 2009...

Merry Christmas 2008! Love, Brody!
We had a wonderful Christmas! It started way back in September, as always. I like to start listening to Christmas music on my Birthday- bobby doesn't love it that early... I try not to go overboard! I love the Christmas season, but hate to have it gone so quick. I SERIOUSLY wish I could live in Hoo-ville and have it be Christmas ALL YEAR long... minus the cold weather the whole time! I do enjoy all 4 seasons! Well, Christmas Eve Bobby's family does a party where we have dinner- always Chicken Cordon Bleu, Rice Pilaf, Rolls, layered salad, etc... so yummy! Then, we play some games and open gifts. We open gifts from cousins and Parents because most of us are at home Christmas morning doing our own family thing. It's a fun tradition that we look forward to every year!
Opening Presents at Grandma and Grandpa's Christmas Eve
Mommy and Brody- Christmas Eve
When we got home Christmas Eve, we wrapped Brody's presents and waited for SANTA to drop off his presents. He brought Brody great gifts this year! We went to bed around midnight and were up again at 5:45. Brody woke up and came in our room, which woke us up. Bobby and I can't ever sleep on Christmas eve. We are as bad as little kids. Neither of us could go back to sleep, so we decided to go downstairs and open gifts from eachother while Brody was still asleep.

My CUTE NEW PURSE!
Brody's new "Badum"
Playing the Drums- he really is good! I'll post a video sometime!
Bobby's new jacket :)

Bobby got lots of clothes from Santa, as well as some Cologne (Abercrombie!!), a WARM snow jacket, moccasins, socks, Golf balls, and a cd... I got some boots (which I couldn't zip... thanks to pregnancy weight!), Ralph Lauren Perfume!, a cd (we both got eachother the same cd- Taylor Swift. This is the 2nd year we've gotten eachother the same one!) a SUPER CUTE GUESS purse (which I totally love!) and a gift card to Aveda Day Spa! Ahhh... love those Gift cards!
After we opened presents we had some breakfast- a brunch casserole and Cinnamon Rolls, and then waited for Brody to wake up. At about 8:30 we heard him get out of bed. Bobby ran upstairs while I got the video camera. He walked over to the railing and saw his presents sitting out from SANTA! The first thing he noticed was his Vacuum and he said "Badum" the whole way downstairs. He ran over, got his vacuum, and started playing with it. Santa also brought him his very first drum set, which he would hit as he walked by with his vacuum. He was so into his new toy, he wouldn't open A SINGLE PRESENT! Bobby and I took turns opening his other gifts. I guess Santa knew EXACTLY what he wanted! We're glad it's such a hit! (We sometimes have to bring it in the car with us... last week it ended up at my Dr's app!)

After all of our presents were opened we headed to my parent's home to do Christmas with them. All of my step-siblings were there with their spouses and kids, as well as my Brother, Evan, from Las Vegas! (It was fun having him here for the holiday!) We opened presents from my parents and hung out for a little while, then headed home to get Brody a nap. We went back to their house later that afternoon for Christmas dinner. I always enjoy the big Family dinners- It's so nice being with everyone!

Playing on Braxton's new tractor.

P.S. It is 100% another BOY! I've had people ask lately, since the last post was only 90%!

New Year's 2009

We are pretty boring on New Year's around here. I like to play it safe and stay close to home. We went out and got Cafe Rio to go, came home, ate, watched the New Year's shows, and fell asleep! I ended up falling asleep with Brody and missed the ball drop in NY since they are 2 hours ahead. Bobby woke me up, and brought me into our bed, where we watched the guy jump his motorcycle in Vegas. We both ended up falling asleep with the TV and lights on. I woke up around 1:30. Yep, I missed ringing in the new year, too. No ball drop, no kiss at midnight. That's usually how my new year's go while I'm pregnant... I'm just too tired by that time of day/night!
I really need to do some catching up. I want to make my blog into a book every year, so I will be doing some catch up posts soon! We hope everyone had a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
