Layers...one or many?

My word don't these weeks zoom by in a flash!?? I can't believe that I am here again to encourage you to join the latest challenge at

this time the theme is

Layers...one or many?

Although recently I have dabbled a little more with CAS, my love is with patterned papers and layers, so I did this...

I used a very old DSB digi (still miss them!!) and made this fold back card with layers of coordinating cardstock and patterned paper on each of the panels. He was coloured with Promarkers.

Another simple boy card for the stock box...that's two this week, there must be something wrong with me!!

I think our lovely weather is coming to an end so I will leave you with some pictures of our walk yesterday morning.

See you soon xx

Christmas With The Cutie Pies

Hello friends. Hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the coming week.

The Christmas Cutie Pies have had an extended break but we are back today inviting you to share your cards featuring things beginning with B.

Here is what I have done for you

I hunted through my stash and came upon this sweet LOTV rubber stamp that fit the theme perfectly, boy, birds, baubles, used the colours blue and brown and finished off with a bow and button, plenty of B's. I paper pieced the curtains with a piece of spotty paper. Another Christmas card to add to the pile...I am doing quite well!!

So, back to work today....boo hoo...we had a lovely week. Because of the fabulous weather the garden is looking much tidier. My waistbands have become a little tighter because I spent hardly any time in the kitchen after all. Saying that though I have more than exceeded my 10,000 steps a day, dog walking, so I am sure that cancels out the eating out!!

Have a good week and I will see you soon xx

A touch of shabby chic

I said I would be back didn't I? This is the card that was under construction!!

I have had more crafting time on my hands since New Year as my daft horse went and injured herself in the field galloping around like a crazy thing. Consequently I have had to make the decision to retire her as the injury is such that she is unlikely to make a full recovery. I am struggling to come to terms with this :0(  Anyway, the point being, while I was being creative with my time, I spotted some challenges that inspired me to make this.

I know, shabby chic and very pink, I was amazed too!!

I was inspired by these challenges

Moving Along With The Times #91 - A Little Shabby Chic
Double D Challenges - Pink and White
Sweet Stampin' - Love your pet
My Time To Craft #391 - Pink and girly

I think I am back again on the other side of the weekend with a little bit of Christmas, so will see you then. Have a good weekend, whatever your plans xx

Here is said "daft horse" on her evening stretch out of the stable pointing her poorly leg!!

Gaming Boy

Hello friends.

I hope you have had a good week. We have had some time off and still have two whole days to fill so are looking forward to the weekend very much!!

If you have some time to craft you might like to do some colouring for the latest challenge at

Colour Crazy Craft Challenge

Here is my inspiration for you using an image from our sponsor - Gaming Boy

He was coloured with Promarkers and because the image was quite large I just left it at that, after matting with black cardstock. It was for a teenage lad so no frills and fancy necessary!!

I hope you will join us.

See you tomorrow xx

Cute Snowman

Happy Hump Day!! We have plans today, I am on annual leave and Hubby is off from today so we are out for a late Birthday lunch, so I am looking forward to a day out of the kitchen!!

Before that though I have a card to share. I won a challenge at Cute N Crafty Christmas and was invited to contribute a card to their challenge which starts today. I used an image from the sponsor Tre.asure Chest Designs

I rather like this CAS card, such a cute snowman that who really easy to colour. The SNOW was from a Cats Pajamas set that I bought (among others) with a voucher that I won in one of their challenges leading up to Christmas. The card base was actually made with icy blue mirror board but, you know what it's like, mirror really doesn't show up well in photographs!!

So, that is me for today. I am determined to return in the next day or so with a shabby chic creation that I am working on...oh yes, the creative juices are flowing!!

See you soon xx

Birthday or Christmas at AYLI

Happy Valentine's Day...mwah!!

Not a Valentine card in sight here...it's Christmas!!

At As You Like It we are asking you to share your favourite makes for either Birthday or Christmas.

I am sharing some Christmas cards that I made using a wreath template that I fashioned from some grey board. After spending ages scrolling through Pinterest, as you do, I was fascinated by some really lovely cards made using a Wreath Builder template which, to my horror were quite expensive and hard to come by. I set to with a square die, pencil, ruler and some grey board and made one of my own to use with my stamping platform. On reflection I then looked on You Tube and found tutorials showing how to make them, so if you fancy having a go that's where to look!!

Here are the first batch of three that I made using, what I call, filler stamps from various sets that have been accumulated over the years.

Card-io stamps here

Crafters Companion stamps here

...and here.

I hope I have inspired you both to enter the challenge and to have a go at making your own wreath stamping template. I really surprised myself by how much I enjoyed the process, and coming from a cute image colourer, that is saying something!!

That's all from me for this week.
Have a good weekend, when you get there xx

Hogs and Kisses

Hello again, hope your week is going well so far.

I have a cute card to share today that I put together at the weekend.

Very CAS for me, but the style was just right on this diddy 4x4 card. I used a sparkly pen for the sky and fussy cut the stamped and coloured  images from this set

For the Boys

Hello and welcome to a new week and a new challenge at

where it's All About the Boys.

Our sponsor is a new one to us and this is what I did using on of their images.

Isn't he cute!!?? He was coloured with Promarkers and simply matted on grey and popped on a spotty background. The sentiment is an old Craftwork Cards stamp and the heart was die cut with a freebie that came with my Gemini. Hope you will come and play!!

I know it was over a week ago that we had snow here but the big kid in me just wanted to share some snaps with you!!

Walking down our lane...

walking back up the lane after our snowy walk...

A snow laden hedge...

...and a weird looking frozen puddle that would not break no matter how many times I jumped on it!!

It has done nothing but rain ever since so I seem to be drying wet Sprollies on a regular basis!!

Right, that's my catch up done!! I have had a busy weekend crafting so will be seeing you again later in the week. Until then...take care xx
