Olde Worlde Christmas

Good Morning blog world and I hope the sun is shining on you, this Mothering Sunday.

I have another Christmas card to share today

I used my Go Kreate die set for the kraft card base and mat, which I distressed and inked with white and brown for a shabby look. The image was from a Vintage Christmas cutting sheet. My poinsettias are a mix of Spellbinders and Marianne and the holly is by cheery Lynn.

This shows the concealed tag which was stamped with a magazine freebie and coloured with Sakura glittery pens and tied with ribbons and fibres. You can just about see the stickles.

I'm off to play here

Completely Christmas #4 - Anything Goes
Winter Wonderland - Krafty Christmas
Allsorts #252 - Use those dies
Jingle Belles - Christmas Past
Fab 'n' Funky - Christmas

Have a lovely day all xx

Tag...you're it!!

Me again...told you I had another to share and this is number two.

The Crafty Little Fairies challenge this week is " Add A Tag"

I used a shaped card and covered it with the lovely Isabelline paper. Clementine had an outing, I'd forgotten how adorable she is. I used my gorgeous Marianne die to sit her on and dyed the seam binding to match the papers. I used a LOTV tag sentiment and a little pearl. Simple but effective!!

I'm playing here

Thanks for coming back...again. You'll be pleased to hear that's it from me for today!!

See you soon xx

Porky Passion

Hi de hi crafters!!

Hope this finds you well. I can't believe I haven't managed to post anything yet this week. The time seems to have slipped away with me. We've had some lovely days ( far too good to miss!!) so aside from work I have been outside . Anyhow, to make up for my absence I have two cards to share today and this is the first
- my creation for

As You Like It Challenge.

Our theme this fortnight is to showcase your favourite animal, and don't forget to tell us WHY.

Now then, my long suffering crafty buddies will know that horses and dogs are at the top of my, most favourite animals, list. However, a little known fact is that I have a passion for all things piggish. I have a large welsh dresser that is home to masses of the little porky darlings. Ornaments, teapots, stuffed ones, candle ones...the list goes on and on, I even have oven gloves!! I'm not entirely sure how it started, we have never farmed them, so I think the love probably came from a weird fascination with Pinky and Perky as a child !!

Anyway, now I've got that off my chest here is my card...

The image is " I smell spring" from Whimsy, coloured with Promarkers. The papers are from Cuddly Buddly.

I'm taking pork chop off to these challenges!!

Red Christmas?!!

Happy Sunday everyone and I hope you are having an enjoyable one.

It's fine here but VERY cold and windy.I  had a nice early ride this morning and managed to dodge some pretty heavy showers...very invigorating!!

I decided to make another Christmas card to add to the pile,
again inspired by  several of the fab current challenges .

Actually, an aside here, I would be joining more challenges but am unable to join and follow any new sites with Google Friend Connect, I know lots of you are suffering different problems at the moment with blogger but I wonder if anyone has had trouble following?

The lovely papers are Bazzil Nordic Pines and I got busy with the old distressing tool
and inks to enhance the shabby, homely finish I was trying to create.
I heat embossed the fabulous stamp with Wow embossing powder.

I coloured the hearts and added glossy accents and glamour dust for a little bit of bling together with some bisque liquid pearls. Cotton lace, a button and an arrangement of ribbon finishes it off.

Now I'm off to play along with these challenges

Chocolate, coffee & cards #61 - Glitter and lace
Fussy and fancy #110 - Shabby chic
Winter Wonderland - Paint the town red
Christmas stamping all year long #3 - Favourite colours
(has to be red for Christmas!!)
Crafty Ribbons #81  - Anything Goes with ribbon
Rhedd & Rosie #28 - Aged/distressed

Phew...another Christmas card done!!
Off to poo pick the field and put Surprise to bed after a cup of tea and a hot cross bun!!

Enjoy the rest of your day and see you soon xx

Winter Farm

Morning all.
I have a Christmas card to share with you today, the plan went astray last week and I didn't manage to get one done. Never mind !! With several challenges in mind I decided not to do any colouring and raided my Christmas hamper for inspiration. This is what happened...

The stamp is called Winter farm by Serendipity Stamps. I heat embossed the image with silver embossing powder and then squished it in some spritzed tumbled glass inkiness on my craft mat. While armed with my heat gun I also used some sparkly embossing powder on my die cut fir branch. Silver mirri board mats,
seam binding and some gems to finish. Sadly the shine and sparkle isn't really apparent, I blame the dull weather and not my photography skills!!

the inspiration came from these challenges

Holly Jolly - Winter Scene
Jingle Belles - Foliage
Christmas at Sweet Stampin - Brrr it's cold outside
ABC Christmas Challenge - F for Friends and Family
Completely Christmas #3 - Anything Goes

Off to prepare dinner now...curry I think!!

thanks for stopping by and see you soon xx

A touch of spring

Hello crafty friends and I hope you are well. Told you I was going to keep pestering you this week!!

The sun is with me in Dorset today and I hope to get out in the garden later when the housework is done!!

There have been so many wonderful examples of the latest Wild Rose Studios release that I just had to treat myself and here is the result using the lovely Squirrel on branch .

I coloured the stamped image with Promarkers to match the lovely papers and happened to find a complimentary ribbon which fitted the colour scheme perfectly

I am playing along with these challenges

Crafty Hands - Buttons & Bows
Addicted to stamps #78 - Buttons & bows

A bit of bunting!

Hello folks...me again. I am afraid it's one of those weeks where I am going to keep popping up on your dashboard!!

Today I have my Oldie But A Goodie creation for you to have a look at.

Our newest teamie Alison has chosen the theme this time and it's
 " Bunting".

I stepped out of my comfort zone and used predominantly blue on this card and I am really rather pleased with the result. I coloured the adorable Stanley and his presents to match the, quite frankly, gorgeous papers. My Heart Banner die got an outing for the bunting and I used a very old Martha Stewart border punch and some even older ribbed navy paper as the background.

I am joining in at these challenges

Fab 'n' Funky #207 - Animals

...more Christmas!!

Happy Friday peeps. Hope the sun is shining on you. If not, then I shall share a bit with you!!

It's really warm today, here in Dorset. So much so that the pony has gone outside naked for the first time. It's hard to believe that a month ago we were suffering floods and gales, in fact it was only a week ago that the hay barn was repaired and made watertight again. I'm sure those folk on the Somerset levels and the other affected areas are still a long way from being normal, so I won't forget about them.

Anyway enough of the weather report and on to the real reason I am here, to share another Christmas card with you. I have made a good start this year, so if my resolution does waver I have a good foundation!!

I used the current sketch from Christmas Challenges with Sketches. The papers are all from First Edition Nordic Christmas pad, even the shimmery one which I embossed. I used a woven ribbon to add texture too.  I had Bailey the reindeer already printed and, as luck should have it, was the perfect size too. He's coloured, as usual, with Promarkers. Just three pearls and that's it...done!!

This was inspired by the following challenges

Completely Christmas #1 - Anything Goes
Sparkles #38 - More than 3 embellishments
Digistamp Boutique - March Customer Competition

That's it from me for today. Thank you so much for your lovely comments and see you soon xx

Spring is in the air...

...and it's also the start of a new challenge at

Helen has chosen the theme " Spring has sprung" and I think it's safe to say that it's a real possibility!! I now have a few of my  daffodils in bloom together with crocuses and primroses. The granny bonnets have emerged from the soil and all in all I am beginning to feel a little bit more optimistic!!

Here is my spring creation

I had a jolly nice time flicking through my paper pads looking for some springtime colours and found the perfect thing in MME The Sweetest Thing " Tangerine".
This was another base that I put together last week using the fantabulous LOTV sketches. The image is from a stamp collection that I love by The Cat's Pyjamas and this one is called Kick some Grass. The sentiment is from Field of pinwheels. I used Pro/Flexmarkers to colour the image to match the paper and finally added some pearls and a felt strip that co-ordinated perfectly.

I really hope that you will find some spring inspiration from my team mates and play along for the chance to win a surprise package, just remember though that something on your card must be at least six months old.

Some challenges that I am joining

Allsorts #248 - Spring is Coming
Created With Love #77 - Think Spring

Hope this has put a "spring" in your step!! Have a good day and thanks for calling xx

Pearls & Swirls

Welcome to a new challenge at The Cutie Pies. For most of you this challenge will be a doddle...

Pearls & Swirls

Here is my contribution

It was a great opportunity for my neglected dies to see daylight, I used Frantage AND got the dust cover off the sewing machine too!!  As usual I started with my papers as the base on which to build the design, did a little paper piecing  and coloured Phoebe to match.

I covered the corner and  swirl dies with shabby pink Frantage and then went  bonkers with the pearls!!

Though I say so myself she looks adorable and my team mates have done a fabulous job too, go on pop over and take a look!! I hope you will be inspired enough to join in. Don't forget though that your card must be CUTE!!

I am taking her along to these challenges
