Image
Good morning! Welcome to a new Challenge at Dream Valley. Our theme this time is add Embellishments so dig out your favourite embellies and have fun!   Our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs and I have used the adorable Couples digi stamp for an anniversary card. The patterned paper came from my Snippets drawer. I coloured the bears with Copics and the sentiment came from an old Hero Arts stamp set. I used several embellishments: Peel-offs from Love from Lizi; some heart confetti from an old bag of sequins by Little Things by Lucy ; and some twine from my stash.   Check out the blog for more inspiration!   Thanks for looking and take care!   love Mags B x

Dream Valley #262 Love

Image
Hi, guys! We have a new challenge at Dream Valley and the theme is Lurve! Our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments and the Design Team were given some adorable images to play with! I used the gorgeous Bundle of Hearts digi. I'm sorry that the sentiment is a bit wonky, I didn't notice until I had already uploaded the photo! It's centred now.  The background paper came with a magazine, it's so pretty!  I fussy-cut the bear (his name is Benson) and raised the blue mat behind him on foam tape.  The twine is from my stash.  I added pink Nuvo drops to the centres of all the flowers. Check out the cute cards that my teamies have made, they will definitely put you in the mood for love! Thanks for looking and take care! love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenges #230 Add Gems or Pearls or both!

Image
Good morning! I hope you're all keeping well. It's another scorching hot day today, though apparently we are due to have thunderstorms later. I love a good thunderstorm, we are about a mile from the River Lea and storms always follow the line of the river. So dramatic!  But you aren't here to discuss the weather, you're here to learn about the latest challenge at Dream Valley. We would like to see gems, pearls or both on your creations. Our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments and I have used Kaye. I love her cute outfit!   I used up some very old papers that came with a magazine, the flowers are such a pretty pink. The die-cut sentiment is made with on old die from Love from Lizi . The ribbon and lace, as well as the gems and the pearl button on Kaye's belt, are all from my stash. Dig out your blingiest gems and pearls, and join in the fun! Thanks for looking, and take care! love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenges #227 Summer Colours.

Image
Well, wouldn't you know it! Our new Challenge at Dream Valley is Summer Colours just when the weather has changed from hot and sunny to cold and rainy! Time to stay indoors and craft, I think! Our Sponsor this fortnight is Crafty Sentiments and the DT recived some of their lovely digi stamps to use in our Challenge. I used Looking Up which is so cute! My papers are from a very old Papermania pad. I used a Spellbinders' Captivating Squares die (now out of print) for the image mat, and an old My Favorite Things 'Plentiful Petals' die for the flower. I edged the green paper with a ribbon from my stash, and also a Jade Green Glitter peel-offs by Love from Lizi. The sentiment die is the Simon Says Stamp Bold Hello die. Go and see my teamies' bright and cheerful creations and join in the summer fun! Thanks for looking, and stay safe. love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenges #217 Spots and/or Dots

Image
Yes, it's already time for the second Challenge of 2020 at Dream Valley! Our new theme is Spots and/or Dots and our sponsor is the fabulous Crafty Sentiments. I have made a birthday card for a little boy, using the adorable Gaffi. Well, he's a giraffe, so definitely has spots! The papers are from an old Echo Park pad called 'Petticoats and Pinstripes' which is sadly out of print. The gold-embossed sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Scripty Sayings. I added Nuvo Drops to embellish, not sequins, because the little boy this is intended for would probably pick off sequins and try to eat them!! Go and see my teamies' lovely work, and check out our sponsor's gorgeous images! Thanks for looking, and have a great week! love Mags B x

Dream Valley DT Challenge #85 Inspired by a movie, song or book

Image
Hello! Can you believe it's already the end of June????? This year is EVAPORATING! Here we are with another challenge at Dream Valley and it's one that everyone enjoys: Be Inspired by a Film, Song or Book Our super sponsor is the wonderful Crafty Sentiments and a lucky winner will receive 3 Digis as a prize! I used the adorable Sweetheart Bunnies and my song is an oldie but goodie: 'Daisy, Daisy, Give me your Answer, do!' This is an anniversary card for my brother and sister-in-law, who have a tandem. I used Spectrum Noir pens to colour the image. I used a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square die to make the mat. The papers are old ones from my 'magazine freebie papers' box, and the yellow ribbon is from Hobbycraft. The sentiment is by LotV and I used another magazine freebie, a labels die, to cut it, and tied a scrap of baker's twine into a bow. In the corners are various coloured stickers from Paperchase, I like how they pick up the colours in t

Dream Valley DT Challenge #80 Say it with Words

Image
Ooops! I'm so sorry, chaps, I'm a little late with my DT cards for Dream Valley It's a slightly different challenge this time: Say it with Words - in other words, we'd like to see words or a sentiment on your creation (remember, it doesn't have to be a card!) Our fab sponsor is Crafty Sentiments and a lucky winner will win 3 digis! Go and have a look at the shop, they don't just sell digis, they have all kinds of crafty stuff! I used the Black and White Sentiments Set 1 to make some 4x4 inch notelets. The bases are white Centura Pearl. I made a template out of scrap card and marked on the front of each card where the Spellbinders circle die should go. Then I cut out all the sentiments with the same die and used foam pads to stick them on the inside of the card, through the hole. I used the same die and a wider scalloped circle die to make the border, using spotted paper from a Raspberry Road stack that was another magazine freebie. Finally I tied

Love Grows

Image
Hi, guys! Have you finalised your plans for Valentine's Day? Or maybe your Other Half is making arrangements? Mine isn't, he's not really very good at that sort of thing! I do think the timing is unfortunate this year, since it's the first day of Lent, but I reckon that even if you plan to give up chocolate you can make allowances for just one special day! I've made a Valentine card using this pretty LotV Love Grows stamp. I used Promarkers to colour, and a spot of Glossy Accents on the watering can and shears. The heart mat is a Spellbinder's die, and so is the mat behind the sentiment. And I've just noticed that I forgot to colour in the flowers on the sentiment! Oops! The flowers are Wild Orchid crafts, the twiggy leaves are cut with a Nellie Snellen punch. The gingham ribbon and brown baker's twine are from The Ribbon Girl and the little wooden heart button is from stash. The paper is also LotV, from the new Country Lady pad. Challenges
