Musick has charms to soothe a savage breast

Image
Good evening! It's been a busy day today, the most important event was when we (well, my Olde Manne) fired up the new Flymo (which we struggled yesterday to put together with much study of the instructions and helpless giggling.) It worked! Hallelujah!!! I love the fresh smell of cut grass. Well, it's July, and my sister's birthday happens on Friday. I'm very pleased with myself for wrapping and posting her presents in good time, usually it takes me by surprise and I have to apologise for being late! My sister teaches music (piano and flute) and I decided to make her a picture. The gold frame came from a charity shop, it's really pretty! I stamped and embossed the lady at the piano and the chandelier, both by Stampendous, using Versamark ink and Detail Black embossing powder. Then I sprayed Ranger Colorwash onto my craft sheet and used it to paint my background with up-and-down strokes. The Stampendous music background was stamped with Salty Ocean Distress

'Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters!'

This week's Lili of the Valley Challenge is Bring On The Music . You have to make a card featuring music, or a song, or musical notes etc! My sister's birthday is in July, so I immediately thought of the song 'Sisters, Sisters' by Irving Berlin from the film 'White Christmas.' This cute little stamp, 'Coffee Time', is just right! I used papers from the 'Bloom and Grow' pad by My Mind's Eye, which are lovely and bright. The sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp . Ribbon and flowers are from stash, and I stickled the edges of the papers, and you can just see where I used a MS doily lace punch, too. There's also a Marianne swirl at the bottom left, but it isn't showing very well! I decorated the inside to match: The sentiment is LotV, the doily is a Nestie. I'm rather pleased with this card - but not with the pictures! They're rather faded, and definitely wonky - I snapped them outside in between breezes, so it was all a bit hu

Tilda for Sketch N Stash

Welcome to my new followers! I hope you like my waffle and my cards! Just a quick post before I zoom off to the Toddler Group! I made this for my sister, who's had a lot of niggly things going wrong with her house! So I thought a happy Tilda card would cheer her up. I have neglected this Tilda, which is a shame, as she is so pretty! The papers are new: Pink Petticoat Vintage Rose, and came with 'Quick Cards Made Easy' magazine. I love them, they are adorable! The sketch is a lovely one from Sketch and Stash Challenges and I'm sure I'll use it again. The flowers are from Wild Orchid and also from stash. I had a list of the Promarkers, but I'm in the middle of what my mum called 'A Grand Tidy-Up' and I think I grandly tidied-up the list into the bin. Wot a plonker, eh? I have started spring cleaning! All the computer cables, booklets, discs, bits'n'pieces now have their own little home - it took about 3 hours to go round the house finding all the
