My Time to Craft #470 Texture

Image
Good morning! I hope you've all had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend. We have a new Challenge at My Time to Craft to entertain you: we would like to see Texture on your creations!  I was inspired by This video by Christina Griffiths and decided to CASE her card. She used dry embossing, ribbon and butterflies on her card; I used heat embossing, glitter washi tape and flowers, and also a different border die by Spellbinders. Check out her channel, she makes beautiful cards! I embossed the white card with Ivory Pearl powder by Love from Lizi and an old floral background stamp from Simon Says Stamp. The mesh flowers and washi tape are from my stash. The ombre die-cuts are only glued along the top, so that the edging is raised up a bit. The image and sentiment are from a 'Downton Abbey' collection by Crafters Companion which was a magazine freebie.  Go and see my teamies' creations for more inspiration!  Thanks for looking and keep well.  love

My Time to Craft #377 More Than One Fold

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well. We have a new Challenge at My Time to Craft which is to use More than one fold. I made a Diamond Top Card - the link is to Christina Griffith's very useful website. The papers are from stash. I masked and gold-embossed the flowers and leaves, and used Zig Real Brush markers to colour them, then used a Spellbinders Lacy Square die to cut them out. The gold-embossed sentiment is from an old Hero Arts stamp set. The diamond top fold is a bit tricky at first, but I practised on printer paper until I got it right! Go and see my teamies'lovely creations, and welcome the 4 new members of the DT! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

Wedding Card!

Hi, guys! I hope your week is going well. Mine is just.... going! Surely it was Monday yesterday? I know I've been busy with STUFF this last few days, and lots of bags of STUFF have gone down to Oxfam, but I look round my house and it still seems chaotic! I'm sure everyone else has this problem!! My neighbour's lovely daughter was married recently - the whole family is remarkably good looking, and the bride looked as if she'd just stepped out of the pages of 'Vogue'! So I knew I wanted to do something a little bit special for her. This card is made with the Spellbinders 'Butterfly Corner' die and is based on one made by the inspiring Christina Griffiths . The video instructions are here Here is the back: I used Centura Pearl card throughout. I embossed the front and back pieces with a Spellbinders Butterflies Impressability which shows up better irl. The corner die cuts were all covered in white glitter. The one on the back makes a pocket, whic

The Rover Returns!

Good morning! I'm so sorry I've been MIA recently, my baby girl had her first chemo session last week which rather knocked the stuffing out of her, but luckily by her birthday on Sunday she was feeling much better. I call her my baby girl, but she's just turned 27! It doesn't seem possible! I have been crafting, I just haven't had time to blog! So today I have abandoned the washing-up in favour of writing this post, and I have 2 cards to share. First is my daughter's birthday card. The technique comes from This video tutorial by Christina Griffiths. To make the base I used a Spellbinders die and pearlised cardstock from Craft Creations . I used all the dies in the set, alternting blue and white card, and distressed the white pieces while in the die with Broken China Distress Ink. The sentiment from LotV is stamped in the same ink. I added a white organza double bow, and pearls in the corners. The most difficult aspect was getting the card out of the dies
