As Hilary mentioned in a previous post, some of her friends are doing a 30 Day Shred Challenge, and I believe she called those doing it "crazy". I'd have to agree with that assessment- and I'm one of the friends doing it.
The challenge consists of doing Jillian Michaels' DVD 30 Day Shred 6 days a week for 5 weeks. There are 3 levels on the DVD, so the idea is to do each level for 10 days. Each workout is 20 minutes, but it's a HARD 20 minutes. Working in intervals of 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio, 1 minute of abs, it is non stop, and intense.
To tell the truth, it's not an enjoyable workout. I have to make myself do it, (working out at the same time every day helps- I just do it because it's time) and I have to push myself to keep going as my muscles scream at me.
So why am I doing it?
Because it works, dang it all. It's only been 5 days, and I'm seeing more definition in my shoulders and arms. My calves, thighs, and booty have stopped screaming at me every time I take a step, and I can make it almost all the way through the level 1 workout (using 5lb weights, no less) without wanting to die. (The anterior raises with a lunge at the end still have me wishing for oblivion and grabbing the 2 lb weights.)
I'm not seeing any change to inches or weight yet, but I'm feeling stronger, and that's a great thing.

Good for you. I've been doing it twice a week, and I HATE it. But I do feel like it's worth it. Perhaps I'll work up to doing it daily.
I tried Level 2 once, even though I still can't get through the pushups and those same awful anterior raises on Level 1. Level 2 was pure torture.
can't wait to hear how it all ends up. :)
Maryanne, I am super proud of you.
You are also crazy. :)
{blowing you kisses, which you will be able to catch because you are so buff}
Lara: I abhor level 2. It's pure evil. Level 3, oddly enough, isn't so bad. But level 2... all those lunges...*shudder*.
Hil: Thanks, and I totally accept the crazy. :)
