March Means Winter is Over

I love March because we have all the sunny days before us, even though it's still coldish.
But we haven't used up any of our spring and summer yet, so it's my favorite.

Saturday we went to Galbraith for the first time in a very long while, and rehung our birds.
We had to relocate them because at the old location, someone moved them to a different tree then used them as tong holders. That's right - tong holders. It was at an overlook where someone built an awning and brought in a barbeque and stuff.
But our bird decorations are NOT meant for holding cooking utensils.
So we moved them to another favorite overlook, hidden in a tree.

Sunday we had some dirt church at Derelict Conveyor.
Andrew found an old washed up chair leg. He used some beach rope and fashioned it into a peg leg. Like a pirate.
(remember last time we were here he found an old tshirt and put it on?)

Someone had left a log smoldering in a fire pit, so we added all the kindling, blew and blew, added whatever dry driftwood we could find until we got a nice fire going.
It was a chilly sunset, so the warmth kept us hanging around until a child had to go number two.
 I love a beach fire.

I finished! It's amazing.
I can't totally articulate how much I loved these months of legos.
I would literally look at the clock and think "oh good I have about three hours to work on legos".
Sometimes I would hurry and get chores done so that I could play.
On busy days where we had to go to all the sports and things, I couldn't wait to get back home, into comfy clothes, yell at alexa to play music, then sift through legos.
Once I texted Jim, "There aren't enough hours in the day to do legos".

We are dog sitting Scout while the Blacks are out of town. You would think it would be wild, but it's not! It's just the normal amount of wild.

Avery had her last game yesterday.
I subbed in the middle school while Jim was home with the dogs. After our days were done and we met up in the car to drive to Nooksack for the game, we were so relieved to be just us two, no dogs, no messes, no children. Just two calm adults driving and talking in our quiet car.

Side note: I am at Thor Ragnarok in my quest to watch all the Marvel movies in order.
So last night Jim gave Andrew a hair cut. Andrew was MAD - crying, yelling...so upset about this terrible haircut. Then I told him he looks like Thor from Ragnarok and showed him a few minutes of the movie. That seemed to appease him, and he even added baseballs so that he has the biceps to match.

Today me and Roxanne climbed the steepest mountain. It was so great - it's been so long.
There was this super cool cabin,

views all around of Canada and Baker and Bellingham Bay,

snow,

two super tired dogs.

Look at Koda perched under Roxanne. haha she's so weird.

A mine cave full of water...where does it go? how deep?

and a selfie with Baker.

While on the trail, I got a phone call from the middle school principal. He reprimanded me for not enforcing masks while subbing. I don't explicitly tell the kids they don't have to wear masks, but I don't enforce it either. I also wear my mask under my chin.
Currently I want to crawl in a hole and disappear because I hate confrontation, and I hate making a fuss. But I'm also so mad that congress and every elite old person in this country doesn't wear masks, yet my kids still have to.
Also the mandate ends tomorrow, so WHO CARES.
But also I can't sleep at night because I feel so dumb.
Give it a few days and I won't think about it anymore.
