Blogger's Quilt Festival 2011...

Welcome to my entry for the Bloggers Quilt Festival.
I was very unsure of which Quilt to pick , I have a couple which I am very proud of this time!
In the end I had to make a decision so I went with my Single Girl Quilt...

When I started this Quilt Along with the Single Girl Support Group
I was unsure how I would go,
My track record with finishing Quilt Along's is not so good.

So with this in mind I went will a 4 ring version of the Quilt because I knew that any more would have been asking way too much!

This was the first Quilt that I needed templates for so I was apprehensive to say the least.

I chose Just Wing It! by MoMo

Then I set about getting everything in order

Next to pick the background colour ...
My design wall  made making the Quilt so much easier, I don't know if it would have been finished if I had to keep getting up and down off the floor!

I quilted it with a Leaf and Butterfly design...
Just Wing It!  is all about Butterflies if you haven't seen the Fabric up close.

I was so happy to finish the quilt in the time frame set out.
(never happened before!)

This Quilt has opened me up to choosing more involved patterns,
instead of A Quilt in a Weekend
After all it's all about the Quality not the Quantity right?

A big thank you to Amy of Amy's Creative Side
for hosting such a Great event,
You bring so many talented Quilters together.

It's great, because you find so many Fabulous Blogs
that you would have never known existed before.

I'm proud of this Finish!

I was going to do a scrappy border in my Feature Fabric but due to circumstances beyond my control
 (see here)
I had to do a Quick Finish so I ended up putting 5" borders on instead.

I really Love how this Quilt turned out.
This is the first ever Quilt along
I've participated in that I have actually finished on time.

I have other Quilt Along's still languishing in the UFO pile
so this is a huge milestone for me.

I choose my edge to edge pattern because the feature fabric I used for the Quilt is Just Wing It by Mo Mo.
This fabric is all about Butterflies,
so my Quilting consists of leaves and Butterflies

It has taken all weekend but now I'm Ready for SuperNova...

My newest Bundle of Joy...

This is Modern Workshop By Oliver + S
Now to dig out Hope Valley and prepare myself to cut it up....

I'm doin' a Happy Dance...

Thank You to everyone for helping choose my background!

I Love It...
Now did the fact that I have said on a number of occasions that purple is my Favorite colour sway you into the decision?

This is all I thought I was going to be able to show today,

I had a few fights with my single girl quilt...

But I became a friend to my unpicker...

Now on to the borders, mmmm what to do...

     Back with more soon!

Single Girl Quilt Along Progress....

Not that it looks like much , but this is what I have achieved today...

All ring fabric is cut and I have started piecing the arcs.

Now for the big decision... I don't want to do my solid as white.

The fabric I'm working with has a lot of fabrics with a white background and I think it will be to hard to see the definite rings.

What do you guys think Orange or Purple....Help!!!

Not keen on Charoal or Light Grey.....
I don't want to have to buy more fabric, need to use my stash!

Single Girl Quilt Along....

Not that I needed anything else to fill in my day but, I couldn't resist!
The Idea that everyone could possibly do the single girl quilt together was too alluring.
Single Girl Quilt Along
After all when a support group is formed you know that you probably shouldn't attempt this pattern by yourself, or risk sitting under the desk sucking your thumb!
My pattern only turned up yesterday, so I spent my Friday Night cutting my templates out.

I'm using a new line for Moda called Just Wing It, which is me to a tee.
Templates have never been my thing, so it's a big huge step for me, And it is circular so it will be interesting!!

There are 36 Fabrics for each ring and I'm still unsure of whether to do a Baby Quilt at 4 Rings or really go for it and do 9 rings.

Who else is taking part?, and how big is your quilt going to be?
Now for the business end of my blog...
A big thank you to everyone who has entered the giveaway!!!!

And the winner is Poppyprint, Congratulations Krista I will be in touch soon...
