Creativity Runs In The Family

Ya know, after doing the April Fool's Day Blog Hop and seeing how creative everyone was, I got some great ideas. I already knew that my oldest daughter has the creative bug, she draws unbelievably well. It's amazing.

These are just a few of her drawings. The first one was from an art project at school.

This is a picture of her and her dad. She sketched this picture below.

This one she did for my best friend. It's a sketch of my best friends kids and her mom. My daughter did this as a Mother's Day gift for my best friend and she loved it!

While I was in my craft room this morning, my youngest daughter was in there playing around and she's very creative too. She made these really cute pictures of sharks and babies and stuff then cut a strip and put the pictures through the strip of paper and had them "swim" or "move" across the page. (I didn't get pics, I'm sorry, I'll try to get some posted later!)

Anyway, I'm going to try to explore this idea a little more with her using my scrapbook paper (and not my white boring printer paper) tonight! I'll show you what we come up with.

Until then, happy crafting!!!!

Much love and creativity,

Creative In The Kitchen!

Creativity isn't always done with paper crafts. Today, I spent some time in my kitchen playing with this fun new treat. Now I should tell you all, it's not really new, but it is new to me!!!

Doesn't this look so yummy? it's called Monkey Bread. I know what you are thinking...what's the big deal with Monkey Bread? Well, for me, I'm always trying to find new snacks for my kids to eat after school. They always want all the same stuff like chips, cookies, and cheese and crackers....the usual. Anyway, today, I tried making this Monkey Bread and it was so simple. My kids actually loved it!!!

When I looked up on a recipe site for the recipe, there were so many different variations. I decided to use the recipe from the package of Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits package.

It turned out so good. I thought I'd share how to make it with you in case anyone has never made it before.

You will need:
12 inch bundt or tube pan
4 tubes of buttermilk biscuits (the small one with 10 in each package)
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup of butter or margarine.

Preheat oven to 350. Spray bundt pan with cooking spray.

1. In a 1 gallon Zippered Plastic bag pour sugar and cinnamon.
2. Cut the biscuits into quarters and throw into cinnamon and sugar bag. Shake until each piece is totally coated. Place into prepared bundt pan.
3. Melt butter and then mix with brown sugar. Pour over the biscuits until fully covered.
4. Cook in the oven at 350 for about 40 - 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Let sit for 5 minutes then let cool on a plate. Serve warm.

This is a quick and easy treat that your kids will love. This is also great for a snack around the holidays. It's just an all around good treat and your kids might want to help make it even!!!

I plan on spending lots of time in my craft room this weekend so stay tuned for some cute blog posts and creative ideas!

Just a reminder that I'm still looking for some more participants for My Favorite Things Blog Hop. Check it out and then CONTACT ME! I can't wait to hear from ya. There are still some spots available. I'd love for you to come and join us! it will be so much fun!!!

Much love and creativity,

Introduction!

I suppose that this should've been the first post but what can I say? I never do anything in order!

So, a little about me. I'm a busy mom of 4 kids ranging in age from 15 all the way down to 5. They are my life. My husband, Mark, and I have been together for almost 14 years and we live in northern Minnesota (the coldest place on the planet). We moved here from Sunny Phoenix, Arizona in 2006. The question we get most often is "Why would you move from Phoenix to Minnesota?" Well the answer to that is quite simple..... My husband is crazy! :P

I'm relatively new to the whole scrapbooking world but I love paper crafts. I got my Cricut Expression for Christmas in 2008 and I love it. It's so much fun to play with. I only have a couple of cartridges but I'm hoping that my library builds up quickly. My favorite thing to do is scrap my life but I like making cards too. I have a 7-year-old daughter who loves to scrapbook with me. She's my little crafter!

This blog was created as a way for me to share my creativity with the world. So, if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Just send me an email with your suggestions and I'd be happy to create it for you!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. Please share your thoughts! I'd love to hear them!
