Happy Monday!

Today it's an Anything But a Card Day at The Bug Blog!

Before we had Olivia, summer freezer jam was something that was made in our house like clockwork.  My mom would spend the weekend, we'd have more fruit then we ever thought we'd be able to peel, squish & can.  But, every summer we'd do it!  We'd have a gorgeous array of fruit freezer jams that would last us the year.  A yummy addition to a housewarming gift, host gift, or just Sunday English Muffins or Scones!

Well, now that Olivia is almost three, this summer SHE helped with the freezer jam!  :D  She loved it!  She likes to do her Kids Size cooking, so this was RIGHT UP HER ALLEY!

We made 24+ jars of jam in Yellow Peach & Raspberry Peach.  Of course, we could have made more, but the attention span of an almost three year old kept us to around 2 dozen jars this year.

Anyway, I yammer on because my ABC project today is little labels for our Freezer Jam Jars.  :)  The back of the label has the date it was made, the flavor, storing instructions and made with love signed by Olivia.  :)

Anything But a Card Challenge: Tea Time

It's an Anything But a Card challenge at The Bug Blog today.

Days like today REALLY make me think OUTSIDE the box, but I thought today I might use A BOX for my creation.

I'm a fan of tea - I love hot teas, fruity teas, black teas, Iced teas....If it's tea, chances are I love it!!

One of my FAVORITE places is Teavana.  If you enjoy teas and have never experienced Teavana, it is a MUST.  Two of my most recent favorite blends - Youthberry & Wild Orange Blossom, the second, Mango Black & Limeade Twist.  FABULOUS!!!!

So, I thought I'd whip up a little tea tin that I can keep in my purse, for that perfect 'tea time'.  This adorable little tin is adorned with a Bugaboo Stamps Tea Time.

At The Bug Blog every Monday, we have our Anything but a Card creations!  

Well, today I created something that would be a good accompaniment to a card - SUPER CUTE - Bugaboo-a-fied Address Labels.

This one is the 'Birthday' version.  I think I created ones for darn near EVERY holiday.  There's so many CUTE Bugaboo images, it's not hard at all to do!

In the Kitchen.....

We make lots of YUMMY stuff!!!  

If you're a follower, you KNOW we LOVE to cook and create yummy things in our kitchen.

Well, last Summer/Fall, before our baby girl was born, we made our annual Freezer Jam!  :)
Can you say YUMMO?!

We made white peach, white peach/raspberry and strawberry/raspberry.  Yep, YUMMO!!  

Of course with these yummy freezer jam jars, they needed just a LITTLE bit more.....and that's where we came up with the Freezer Jam labels that we attached to the jars with raffia.

The beautiful thing - this fabulous little image from Bugaboo Stamps that we used for the label!

I cut these little labels out with one of my round nesties, and then added a scalloped background to it, punched a hole and threaded the raffia through - tied it around the band of the jar, and voila!  Instant cuteness!

Of course, I completely FORGOT to take photos of these cute little labels on the jam jars with the raffia.  At that point, I blamed EVERYTHING on pregnancy brain, so we'll leave it at that!  I'll be sure to REMEMBER to take the pictures this summer!!

I'm SO looking forward to this summer's freezer jam with Livy, her Grandma Horses and I.  What a fun weekend it will be.  Thank goodness for my hubby that Major League Baseball will still be going on, and that'll be just about the time for College football to kick off.  :)  As long as we keep the snacks coming for him, he's all good with whatever crazy we're creating in the kitchen!  :)

Dear Santa...

Even though Livy was too little to write a letter to Santa this year, we still wanted to write one for her!  He needed to know there was a new kiddo in this house (usually he just stops by for the cookies and adult beverages at our house :)  This year it was milk & cookies.

Jodie has this great little Blank Dear Santa Scroll that was perfect for just that!

And of course, it's another cute baby onsie!

Somehow or another, around Easter this year, my father in law began calling our little Jelly Bean, Jolene Marie (of course this was not one of the names on our 'going to the hospital list'). So, it has been a running joke in our family - "Why does Grandpa keep calling me Jolene Marie?"

So, of course, we had to have a funny onsie that we gave my father in law for Father's Day and with some of the cute Bugaboo Stamps flowers, it tuned out super cute!!

This was a bib for our new bundle of joy that we gave my father in law for Father's Day as a bit of a joke.  
You can bet our little jelly bean will get great use out of this (when she decides to join the family).

A few months ago Glen's cousin and her husband adopted a sweet baby girl.  And because in our family, there is very little we buy, if we can make it (IE: cards, fun pillowcases, scarves, wool slippers, baby blankets and ONSIES.)

Anything But a Card: Announcement Edition

It's an ABC Monday at The Bug.

I thought I'd share with you now that our families know - we're getting a baby in our house.

Coming Soon - August 30th

And we are BEYOND excited!

Here's one of the first pictures we had taken - this was at 8 weeks, 3 days

Since then, we've had a few more pics taken and through a genetic test (that thankfully then avoids us having to have an amino - big darn needle through the belly test).  We celebrated 18 weeks this past Saturday, have our 18 week Ultrasound tomorrow.
I digress - which seems to be the case very much lately.  Anyway, through the genetic test, we found out at 13 weeks that we're having a GIRL!!

So, back to today's ABC - when we found out we were pregnant, we wanted to tell the grand parents in a fun way.....enter gift bag and baby bottle, complete with the announcement tucked inside.

We got the rest of our flowers and veggies planted (in addition to all that other weekly weekend 'stuff')

Had our homemade Philly Barbecue Pizza again Saturday night  (YUMM-O!!)

And , well, that brings us to Monday already (wow!)
