Tag!

Hello lovely people,

Another Thursday and another challenge from us at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme this time is...

ADD A TAG

I had a good old think about what to do for this and then the light bulb came on... my fave way to add sentiments is on little tags so that's what I've done.

I have gone for quite a masculine design and kept it super simple although I now think I should have stitched around the image panel.
I think this card would be lovely as a get well soon or thinking of you card but the sentiment makes it really versatile.

Card recipe;
DP: Hope - Authentique
Ribbon: twill tape - find similar at The Ribbon Girl
Button: from stash

Copic colours;
Fur: E40/41/42/43
Umbrella: B93/95/97/99 & G21/24/YG63/67 & E44/47
Water: B0000/BG70/B21/blender

Head over to Crafty Little Fairies to check out the lovely creations from my teamies.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Challenges I am entering;
1.  Simon Says Stamp (anything goes with buttons)

Dinosaur onesie

Hello lovely people,

I'm back again with a card for another one of my nephews whose birthday is in a week or so.  When he stayed over at ours recently he was sporting a rather fetching dinosaur onesie so when I saw this Tiddly Inks image I knew what I had to do!
The layout is super simple with the text printed on my computer.  I love this font; it was a free one called Skinny Latte if anyone wants to know!

I had great fun using a 'dotting' technique to get a scaly texture on the outfit.  As I was uploading these pics I realised that I hadn't given him any ground to stand on...oops!

Card recipe;

Copic colours;
Dino onesie: YG91/93/95/97/99
Spikes / blob on stick: R08/46/59 & E35
Claws: W1/3/5
Hair: E50/53/35
Crown: YR21/23/24
Stick: E35/37/47

I hope you have had a wonderful sunny weekend; I got about half of the garden tidied up, planted some spring garlic and sowed my tomato and chilli seeds - exciting!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Challenges I am entering;

Rock on!

Hello lovely people,

I'm back!  It's not often I post 2 cards in one day so if you are looking for my In The Pink card then please scroll down.

I now have my DT card for the All Dressed Up Challenge to share with you and it's about as far from pink as you can get!

I'm not one for New Years Resolutions but I did have a few things in mind that I would like to try more of in 2014 and one of those was male cards.  Regular visitors will know my blog is full of pretty girly cards so I thought I should try to get out of my comfort zone every now and then!

And when I saw the fab new images from All Dressed Up I knew it was a good time to go for it!  We have four fantastic images in this latest release, covering both girls and boys!

How fab are these?  To purchase any of the images please head over to the Shop.

For my design team creation I have used Rock my World and here he is;

I really enjoyed colouring this and the one major difference to all the girly images I usually colour was a lack of hair!

Card recipe;
DP: The Rockstar stack - DCWV
Dies: Precious stars (with the bows cut off!) - Memory Box

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/21/11

Blue bits: BG93/95/97/99

Guitar: E57/47/49 & E40/41/42/42
Grey bits: W series

You can find the challenge on the All Dressed Up blog and also check out the fabulous creations from my fellow Dressy Girls.
We would love it if you stopped by our Facebook Group to share your All Dressed Up creations and chat to fellow crafters.

I know this was already quite a long post but I just have to tell you that I am going on holiday on Sunday so may not be around too much for the next week.  I am skiing in Andorra with friends and I can't wait :-D

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Nearly forgot...

Hello lovely people,

Apparently having a few days off work has led to me completely losing track of what day it is and very nearly forgetting to do this post for Crafty Little Fairies!  This wouldn't have been so bad except that I also forgot to take the photos of my card and spent a good yesterday evening while trying to get a photo that wasn't awful.  Special thanks to Dr Hubby for holding lamps whilst I played with camera settings.  UDATE: Photos retaken this morning; still not much light but better than last night!

Ok, onto our theme for this week and that is...
Autumn colours

Our sponsor this week is My Crafty Heart with a £10 voucher :-)

This was a tough one for me as I almost never use this colour palette but I did have a new (for me) LOTV stamp to play with and found a scrap of suitable DP hiding in my stash and this is what I came up with;

I hesitate to inflict another poor photo on you but here is the close up... *winces*

Red, white and blue

Hello lovely people,

It's time for another challenge at Lili's Little Fairies and our theme this week is 'Red, White and Blue.'  Ok, I have to admit to being a little thrown by this one as it is so not the colours I would normally go for.  But then I realised that I could go more vintage with the colours and that I could use one of the gorgeous new LOTV Pretty Vintage stamps and this card was born;

I just adore these new large sentiments and they make it super quick to whip up a card...well, relatively quick in my case as I always have to faff around a bit!

I am giving this card to one of my work colleagues for passing a course, and yes, you guessed right, it's a MALE colleague!  So, I kept my hands off my pretty embellies and just used some manly twill tape and a few stars to finish it off.

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Designs - By the Sea & Vintage Spring Basics
Stars: Quick Kutz die
Twill tape: from Crafty Ribbons

I would like to enter this card in the Sweet Stampin' Challenge which has the theme of 'Not Cute.'

For oodles more inspiration pop over to Lili's Little Fairies and check out the stunning creations from the other Fairies.  Our prize up for grabs this week is £10 to spend at Crafty Ribbons so dig out the red, white and blue and join in the fun!

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Spots and stripes

Hello lovely people,

I have everything crossed that Blogger does as he is told and posts this for me while I am still in bed after going to see Muse at the Ricoh stadium in Coventry last night :-)

Next up, thank you to Donna and Nat for becoming my latest followers - so lovely to have you along!

And eventually on to the main business; my DT card for Lili's Little Fairies and the theme this week is 'Spots and Stripes' - easy peasy right?  I have done a masculine card this week which is so not my forte, but this LOTV image made it a breeze to make  :-)

I have let the DP and image do most of the work here and only added a little twine and button for embellishment.

I have used an image from one of the new LOTV sketch pads, and wow, these are totally amazing.  They are such good value at £6 for 30 images and give you a really nice selection of images to work with.  The card is a lovely weight and the images colour up beautifully with my Copics.

Card recipe;
DP: Simple Stories Documented
Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments
Twine/button: from stash

Copic colours;
Jack: E41/81/42, YR30 (R000 for paws)
Cake: W00, YR30, Y0000 (E81 for spots)
Red spots/cake filling: R27/29/37
Candles: B93/95 & YR23/27

Do check out the creations from the rest of the Fairies and then break out those spots and stripes and join in our challenge for a chance to win £10 to spend over at My Crafty Heart.

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx
