Garden fun

Hello lovely people,

Oh my word, that weekend went so fast and now it's almost halfway through the week!  It was such a fabulous weekend with almost wall to wall sunshine here in Gloucestershire :-D
Dr Hubby and I did lots of gardening and popped out for a little spin in our Caterham Seven with the roof off; it was glorious!
After all that I didn't actually spend that much time in my craft room but I do have a card to share that I made for a special friend who also enjoys being in the garden.

This is the second outing for this image and this time I cut it down slightly to work better with my intended layout.
I very nearly didn't put flowers on this one but in the end I couldn't resist adding a few as they are so pretty!

Garden girl

Hello lovely people,

Finally I am back with the last of my belated DT cards and it is of course time for a new challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme this month is...

Now we are a monthly challenge we have a whole lot of loveliness to give away with FIVE prizes up for grabs this time from...

I got a couple of new Stamping Bella images recently and this one fit the bill perfectly.  It is intended for my Sister-in-law's birthday at the end of the month but shhhh, don't tell her!

In the kitchen

Hello lovely people,

I did warn you I had a lot of cards to share this week and now it's time for the Crafty Little Fairies challenge, where we have the theme...

IN THE KITCHEN

It's a double sponsor week again with fantastic prizes on offer from;

(prize = stamp of winner's choice)

(prize = voucher)

Initially I wasn't sure what I was going to do for this theme but then I spotted the perfect stamp and had an idea for a CAS design with it so here it is;

I love this image but colouring the skirt is quite scary because it's such a big expanse of white!  I think it could be better but I am well aware I am my own worst critic so I guess it's not too bad.
I added stickles to some of the details and although it is a bit more sparkly IRL, you can actually see it in the photos for once!

Card recipe;

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/11/21

Leaves: G61/63
Tray: T0/1/2

If you pop over to Crafty Little Fairies you can check out the fabulous creations from my teamies; there is a lot of cake so be warned, it may induce some drooling!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

PINK!

Hello lovely people,

I'm so excited to be able to tell you that I am now on the DT for In The Pink! Yes, I am a Pink Lady :-D
If you visit my blog regularly you will know that I LOVE making pink cards so this is absolute heaven for me!

Ok, onto our challenge for this fortnight and since In The Pink is one year old today and our very own Rizzo is celebrating a special birthday this week, there was only one possible theme we could go for...
Birthday!
Even better we have two, yes TWO, awesome sponsors to help us celebrate;

Winner can choose two digi images (not sentiments, watermarks or sets)

Winner receives a £10 voucher

I am absolutely in love with the new limited edition Sofiero papers from Maja Design and guess what?  They are pink!  I have teamed them up with one of the fab Stamping Bella images for this birthday card;

For some reason I often end up paper piecing the dresses on these images and then just add a little extra shading to them.  Of course, I just *had* to add a touch of Glamour Dust to finish it off :-)

Card recipe;
Image: Uptown girl Isabella loves her ice cream from Stamping Bella
DP: Maja Designs - Sofiero
Lace: from stash (via my grandmothers!)
Flowers / pearls: from Wild Orchid Crafts

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair: E41/42/43
Ice cream: RV0000/000/00 & RV10/11 & YR30/blender
Cone: E53/55
Skirt: teeny bit of shading with Rv0000/000/00
Grass: YG61/63

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Papertake Weekly (anything goes)
2.  Inky Chicks (lovely lace)

I am so excited to have joined In The Pink at this happy time and as if all the above wasn't enough some of the DT have hidden candy so please show us some love and leave a little comment on our blogs to be in with a chance to win some :-D

For lots of inspiration head over to In The Pink to see what the other Pink Ladies have made and then show us your pink birthday creations :-)

Before I go, here's another little something I made a couple of weeks ago...Happy Birthday Rizzo...sorry you can't actually eat it!

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Sweet

Hello lovely people,

Ooh, look, it's still sunny!  I have had the last couple of days off work and have totally enjoyed the sunshine pottering in the garden.  I have so far harvested some broad beans, new potatoes, a few strawberries and lots of lettuce, and have so many raspberries I (almost) don't know what to do with them!
This morning I went for a long walk with Dr Hubby and for anyone who knows what I am talking about, found 17 Geocaches :-)
Oh, and I also found a bit of time to make a couple of cards while I was recovering from all that sunshine and outdoor stuff :-)

So, down to the important business and that is a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and this week the theme is...
Sweet!
Our sponsor this week is Crafters Companion with a voucher to spend in store on some of their many goodies; now that is sweet!

I have used one of my favourite Stamping Bella stamps and after my last few cards which had a lot of embellies I kept this one really plain as I like to change things up every now and then!

I paper pieced the dress and then added a touch of shading/folds with a couple of Copics.

Card recipe;
Image: 'Ava loves to celebrate' by Stamping Bella
DP: Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics
Lacy edge: Martha Stewart edge punch
Pearls: from The Hobby House

Copic colours;
Oops, I think I threw the list away by accident - sorry!

Thanks for visiting and I do hope you pay a visit to Totally Gorjuss to see what my teamies have created.

Wishing you all a lovely sunny weekend :-D

Hugs,
Kat xx

Drinking buddies

Hello lovely people,

I am off on my holidays tomorrow so you won't hear much from me for the next week!  Dr Hubby and I are off to the Peak District so I have everything crossed for some sunshine!

I thought I would share one more card with you before I go and I may have something to share mid-week if Mr Blogger plays nicely!

I made the memo pin from some wire and used my fave combo of seam binding and lace layered together with a pretty bow. I have had comments on my neat bows before so let me tell you there is much fiddling with them to get them how I want them and I always put a line of glue along the back of the cut edges to stop them fraying.

Having paper pieced the dresses there wasn't much of the image left to colour with my Copics and I then cropped the bottom off to give a square image.

Card recipe;
Image: Stamping Bella - Victoria and Juliette's Night Out (available at Dies to Die For)
DP: Maja Designs Vintage Spring Basics
Seam binding / pearls: from Wild Orchid Crafts
Lace: from The Ribbon Girl

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1.  Bunny Zoe (case a DT card - I have used the pretty colours from Silvie's card)
2.  As You Like It (fave rubber stamp - love this one as it is so versatile and I have used it loads both coloured and paper pieced)
3.  A Creative Romance (anything goes)

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx
