Polaroid James

Hello lovely people,

It's Thursday again but this one is not a normal Thursday for me as I am currently on a skiing holiday in Andorra!
While I am hopefully whizzing down the slopes we have a new challenge for you at Crafty Little Fairies and the theme is...
TEDDIES

It's a double sponsor week so we have prizes up for grabs from...

AND

Marianne Designs (prize is these 2 lovely stamps)

I am sure this one will be a popular theme and I certainly had a lot of stamps to choose from...mostly of a certain little bear so you won't be surprised to see him on my card...

This is one of the newest releases from LOTV and I have cropped the image and popped him in a frame cut on my Cricut to look like a Polaroid picture.

Card recipe;
DP: My Girl - American Crafts
Sentiment: Mini clear stamp set - Kaisercraft
Button: from stash

Copic colours;
Fur: E30/31/55/43
Flower: RV32/34 & G21/24
Background: B0000/000/00

If you pop over to Crafty Little Fairies you can check out the fabulous creations from my teamies.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Some Krafty colouring

Hello lovely people,

Happy Thursday! That must mean it's time for another challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and this week our theme is...

CHRISTMAS IN NOVEMBER!

We are sponsored by the wonderful Crafty Ribbons this week with a £10 voucher to spend :-)

Since you insist then here's another Christmas card...

I set myself a little challenge with this one to do some colouring on Kraft; not something I do very often but I do think it looks effective.  I have also come over all CAS and didn't even stitch on my card - shock horror!

I added a little Stardust Stickles to the scarf and snow and some white flock to the fluffy ends of the scarf.

I played around for quite a while before coming up with an arrangement that I liked for the little fishtails - CAS really isn't always simple to make is it?!

Card recipe;
Image: Penguin Presents - LOTV
Sentiment: Essential Christmas stamp set - Paula Pascual
Snowflake die: Small Snowflake Set - Impression Obsession

Copic colours;
Penguin body: T6/7/8/10 & 100
Penguin feet: Y17/19
Scarf / red presents: R27/29
Green presents: YG03/05/06
Brown present / scarf (under glitter): E30/31

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  A Gem of a Challenge (Christmas is coming)
2.  Papertake Weekly (anything goes +/- Christmas)
3.  Simon Says Stamp (keep it clean and simple)

I hope you will pop over to Crafty Little Fairies for loads more fabulous Christmas inspiration and I'm sure you must have Christmas cards to make so do join in our challenge!

Thanks so much for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave me,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Stripy

Hello lovely people,

I have yet another busy weekend of fun as I am on a hen party at Center Parcs this weekend!  I'm sure we will all be very well behaved, no shenanigans whatsoever...ahem.

While I am away, it's time for a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss and our theme this week is...
Stripes

I have had the idea for a card with 3D candles on it in my head for some time and finally had chance to make it.  It came out pretty much how I wanted!  Can you see the stripes?!

The candles are just rolled up DP with a little bit of bakers twine stuck inside - very easy :-)  They are quite sturdy but I think it's going to need a little extra padding and postage to get to the recipient...my father-in-law...hope he likes it!

Card recipe;
DP: MME Lost & Found 3 - Oliver
Twine: Hemptique from Craft Obsessions
Sentiment: Kaisercraft

I hope you can join in our challenge and if you need any more inspiration please head over to Totally Gorjuss to see what my teamies have created :-)

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Kiss kiss

Hello lovely people,

I think I have just about recovered from all the excitement of In The Pink's birthday celebrations now.  But wait, there is one more little bit of excitement because I had some hidden candy to give away to one entrant into our challenge last week and that person is...
No.19 - Rosietoes
Congrats to you and please use the contact form on the left side bar to claim your prize of a lovely collection of pink ribbons :-)

Onto a new challenge now and this week our theme is...
KISS (Keep It Sweet & Simple)
The hardest part of this card was getting the sentiment straight as it wasn't a clear stamp so I couldn't see exactly where I was putting it.  I was so happy when it came out straight and in the right spot as I had already coloured the image by then...yeah, could have planned that better but thank goodness it was ok!

I just adore this sweet Saturated Canary image (I know, I say that about all of them but it's true every time!) as I bought it a while back and haven't used it until now.  I can't believe I left her hanging like that, but I did buy quite a few and some of the other haven't seen daylight yet either!

Card recipe;
DP: MME Lost & Found - Madison Avenue
Sentiment: Amy R - So wordy sentiments

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Eyes: B0000/000/00
Hair: E41/42/43/44
Dress: RV0000 & R81/83/85 & RV11/32/34
Shoes: T1/2/3/4

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Loves Rubber Stamps (round or square cards)

I know that the KISS theme sometimes freaks people out but check out the awesome creations from the rest of the DT over at In The Pink and you'll see that it's not so hard really!

A little bit shabby

Hello lovely people,

So today is a super lovely Thursday as not only is it time for a new challenge at Lili's Little Fairies but I have a couple of days off work - hurrah!  Providing Mr Blogger does his thing I will be spending a few days with Dr Hubby and my Aunt-in-Law when this posts :-)

I guess you are all waiting to find out our theme this week, well it is...
Vintage or Shabby Chic

Our sponsor this week is Live and Love Crafts and their store is stuffed full of gorgeous treats for our lucky winner to splurge on :-D

The LOTV Pretty Vintage stamps are totally perfect for this theme (the clue is in the name!) and I haven't made a new baby card for a while so here you go...

I used plenty of TH Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap round the edges of the DP and used the same ink to stamp a faint border onto the DP for extra shabby chic-ness.  Of course, it wouldn't be complete without a smattering of Frantage round the sentiment and also on the flowers :-)

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Designs Vintage Spring Basics (available from LLC)
Background stamps: Grunge Corners from LOTV
Flowers / pearls / pearl brads: from Wild Orchid Crafts
Swirls: Marianne Designs Creatables - Anja's Vintage Swirls
Frantage: Stampendous Shabby White (available from LLC)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Live and Love Crafts (warm or cool colours - as you can see I have gone for cool)
2.  Wild Orchid Crafts (anything goes)

Check out all the lovely shabby chic and vintage creations from the rest of the Fairies and then let your imagination run wild with pretty vintage colours and shabby embellishments :-)

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Tiddly Inks DT call

Hello lovely people,

This is a very special post as I am sharing my entry for the DT call over at Tiddly Inks.  I was so excited to see this as I just adore all the Tiddly Inks images :-D

Now, there isn't long left to enter and wow, the standard of the entries so far is absolutely amazing! Undeterred, I grabbed myself this newly released image called Salty Kisses and put on my best colouring hat...

Well I knew this was going to be a challenge for me to colour because of all the hair and the mermaids tail to contend with but I like a challenge!  And to be honest, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out :-)

Once she was all coloured up I really didn't want to detract too much from her so kept the layout pretty simple with a sprinkling of Frantage and a button that my sister-in-law made.

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Designs Vintage Spring Basics
Lace: from The Ribbon Girl

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair: E23/57/59
Tail: B0000/000/00 & BV0000/000/00/01
Rock: W1/3/4/5
Crabs: R05/08
Starfish: Y21/23/26
Flowers: YR24/27 & E99
Sea: B0000/000/00 & blender

Wow, that was my longest list of Copics to date and I did have a lot of fun colouring this image...while my in-laws were visiting at the weekend... I just couldn't stop myself!

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my creation,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Pretty floral

Hello lovely people,

Welcome along to my newest follower, Jane, and thank you for choosing to follow me :-)

I'm starting the bank holiday weekend off with my DT card for Totally Gorjuss and our theme this week is 'Just Because.'  We are sponsored by Bugaboo AND The Ribbon Girl this week - yes, that's TWO lovely prizes to be won!

I went for a super simple card this week using some of my new favourite papers - I always love the MME collections.

This is just a weeny little card (9 x 11.5 cm) so great for using up some scraps of paper and a few cute embellishments.  The little lacy circle under the button was brought back for me by my mother-in-law from a holiday in Tenerife.

Card recipe;
DP: MME Lost and Found 3 - Oliver
Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments stamp set
Flower: Prima Country Elegance
Button: from stash

For some more inspiration pop over to Totally Gorjuss and see what my teamies have created, then I hope you can join in our challenge.

I hope you all have lovely things planned for the bank holiday weekend and fingers crossed for some sunshine :-)

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Little mermaid

Hello lovely people,

Oh, what a beautiful sunny morning; I hope you have some sunshine where you are too!
I'm glad the weather is not playing along with our theme at Totally Gorjuss this week which is 'Water Water!'
This theme immediately made me think of this gorgeously cute mermaid from Tiddly Inks.

I thought the image would work well on a circular card and I layered up several scraps of paper for the fishtail banner.

I have been a little nervous of attempting the colouring on this stamp but inspired by some fab cards like this amazing card from Yasmine and a wonderful tutorial on YouTube from Kit and Clowder I gave it a go.
And I just had to give her red hair!

Card recipe;
Image: Mermaid Miranda from Tiddly Inks
DP: MME 29th Street Market (quite an old collection!)
Scallop shape: cut with Cricut
Pearls: from The Hobby House
Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiment stamps

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/01
Hair: R29 + E09/18
Tail: YG000/00/03/17/67
Background: BG0000/000/01

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Cute Card Thursday (dancing queen)
2. Cupcake Craft (lots of layers)

So, now you have seen my card, maybe you would like to pop over to Totally Gorjuss and see what my lovely teamies have made.  If you join in our challenge you have a chance to win the prize from our fab sponsor this week, Heather's Hobbie Haven.

Thanks for visiting,

Sorry folks, it's another fairy!

Hello lovely people...

...and big hugs and thank you to the people who have chosen to follow me here on my new blog - so lovely to have you along :-)

I have had a busy weekend starting with a lovely catch up with some family on Saturday and having fun playing with my niece and nephew.  Then I had a day of housework and crafting on Sunday.  Oh, and Dr Hubby helped me put together 2 drawer units ready for my craft room reorganisation.  I got all the bits and pieces that I wanted from Ikea on Wednesday but probably won't have time to put it all in place until the bank holiday weekend.  Something to look forward to :-)

After all that waffle I do have an actual card to show you using this Deconstructed Sketch for inspiration;
I only fiddled with the sketch a weeny bit and here it is;
I used the 'out of the box' technique to cut the image out with a circle nestie whilst leaving the wings hanging off the top and layered it onto a scallop circle cut with my Cricut.  The seam binding ruffle was created with the help of lots of tiny bits of double sided tape!
I have had this stamp for a while but somehow never got round to using it until now.  I have coloured the image with Copics, twice in fact because I got ink on the background the first time round  :-(
Card recipe;
Image: Kraftin' Kimmie - Fairy Lilybelle
DP: Maja Designs Vintage Spring Basics (yes, again but they are so pretty!)
Seam binding: from Crafty Ribbons
Lace: from The Ribbon Girl (Rebecca lace)
Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments
Pearls: Kaisercraft

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  In the Pink (ribbons and ruffles)
2.  ABC (lovely lace)
3.  By the Cute and Girly (vintage)
4.  Simon Says Stamp (anything goes)
5.  The Deconstructed Sketch (#99)

Thanks for visiting,
Hugs,
Kat xx
