LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Well, it is time for another post. Life is busy and I recently moved and I am still putting the new place together. Not a lot of time for crafting and creating. But, this is a project that was done not to long ago. This is a card that I made for a young lady that I work with. She was married a couple of months ago. The image is from The Pixie Cottage and the artist is Airtish. I really love this image. The colors of the wedding were pink and green. The design paper is DCWV. The cardstock, bling and flowers are all from Recollections. I used the Spellbinders banner die and label die.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog. I plan to start posting more since I am starting to feel better.

TIME FOR A WEDDING

Wow, I can't believe that it is Sunday evening already. This has been a very busy week for me and I am so glad to have some time for crafting. Next, week won't be as bad, but it will be busy. But, now I am here to post a wedding card that I made for a coworker to give to her cousin. She loved the card.

The image is from the Pixie Cottage and the artist is ARtish. I love the simplicity of this card. I embossed with one of art deco 5x7 folders and the ribbon is from my stash and the Mr & Mrs stamp is from the Paper Studio. I used a spellbinders die cut to cut out the front of the card, I forget the name of this one. I really need to find my list. The inside of the card was embossed also and held a very sweet sentiment. I forgot to take a photo of it.

CUDDLY CRITTERS/SKETCH AT THE PIXIE COTTAGE #114

Good morning all, today is a sad day, it is my last week as guest designer at The Pixie Cottage so stop by their blog and join in with this weeks challenge, cuddly critters and/or sketch. I have enjoyed my time as guest designer and I am sorry to see it end. But, as they say "All Good Things Must come To And End". So let's get to my card, the image is by Artish who designs for the Pixie Cottage.

And since I don't have a lot of critter/animal  images, I had to use this little kitty. I don't know if she is considered a critter or not. But, I thought she looked so cute having a tea party. That I could not resist. And since purple is my favorite color and along with this yellow paper from Basic Grey life of the party pad. The card stock is from the scrap file. I used a Spellbinders fancy label and typed the sentiment on the computer. The image was colored with my copics E00, E0000,  E11, E30, N2, Y000, Y08, Y13, spica glitter pens goldl and lilac. The bling is from my stash. Well, that is it for this card and don't forget to stop by The Pixie Cottage and join us for this challenge. Now, I do have a few challenges and I really have got to get ready for work.

THE PIXIE COTTAGE EASTER or SPRING CHALLENGE #113

Good morning crafters, it is time for another challenge as guest designer at The Pixie Cottage, this week the challenge is Easter or Spring and they also have a sketch that you can use. So you could go with the theme or the sketch. But, I have done both. I have been having so much fun as the guest designer this month and I am on week 3. It will soon be over and I will be so sad to see it end. But, that is for another day. Here is my card for this week.

I am not sure who designed the image, but it is a Pixie Cottage image. It was colored with copics E09, E11, E13, E23, E53, G21, G24, YG03, YO2, Y04, Y08. The papers are all from the scrap file. Got to try to use it up. The eggs I found in my stash from last year. The sentiment stamp is from Stampendous. I embossed the 1st layer with the cuttlebug swirls embossing folder and then rubbed the peeled paint distressed ink over it, added a few gems and used Spellbinders label to make the mats. I think that it came out kind of cute. The butterflies were punched with $1 punch that I have had forever. So now it is your turn. Go on over to the Pixie Cottage and join in with the fun. You will be glad that you did.

THE PIXIE COTTAGE PERFECT PASTELS /SKETCH CHALLENGE #112

Good morning again, this time it is time for my Guest Designer gig over at The Pixie Cottage Challenge Blog. I was so excited when the owner, Michelle asked me to be a GD. I jumped at the chance. I have been following this blog almost since the beginning of my blogging history. Which will be 3 years in October. But, that is another story. This weeks challenge is called Perfect Pastels....

Don't you just love the colors. The papers are from a 6x6 pad by My Minds Eye that I have had forever and had not used in a a very long time. It is called My Minds Eye Home... It is a glittery pad and the designs are just wonderful. I think that I may use the rest of it in a mini album. The image is by Sandra Hamner and was colored with copics E23, E27, E53, G21, G24, R81, R83, spicas pink glitter pen. I used Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle die cut and one of the newer fancy tags. The card stock is from the scrap file and I don't have a clue who made it. The flowers are from my stash and no name was visible. But I think that they are from Wild Orchid. A gift from a very crafty friend.

THE PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE #111 THINGS WITH WINGS/SKETCH

Hello friends, guess who was asked to be a guest designer at The Pixie Cottage Challenge blog for the month of March. Yes, you got it. I was, I am so excited. Michelle is a wonderful person and I love both her store and the challenge blog. I enter as many challenges as I can work into my busy schedule. Michelle's Scrapbooking and More has a wonderful line of stamps and digis' and lots of other things, you should really check them out. Here is a funny story, at the last DT call, I applied to be a junior designer on the team and the email address that I used was one that I don't check everyday. Well, several days after the DT call was over, I checked the emails and I had one from Michelle offering me a place on her team. But, I was to late, she had already announced the new team. Well, I felt sorry for myself for a while and then I sent her an email thanking her for the thought and apoligizing for not getting back to her sooner. Well, she sent me an email back and asked me if I would like to do a guest designer spot and I jumped at the chance. So here I am and I am ready to get started.

This weeks challenge is things with wings and you know there is a sketch. You can do either one or the other or like I did and do both.

The image that I have used is a SouthEnd girl by Andrea T. Sellers and you can buy her at Michelles Scrapbook and More the Pixie Cottage Store. She is #9002 in the store. I colored the image with my copics E11, E13, E09, E15 , YR00, YR02, YR01 and the orange spica glitter pen. the botton layer of paper is actually vellum that I bought about a year ago and never used it is from Making Memories a part of the slice line. it comes in 8x8 sheets and 8 wonderful colors. I really liked the feel of it. The DP is basic grey and I used one of my new spellbinders die cuts to cut the shapes. The bling is from my stash and the butterflies were cut with a $1 punch that I picked up somewhere. The sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michaels. My card came out kind of monochromatic although that is not what I had planned. Well, that is it for my card. And now you should join us for this weeks challenge at the Pixie Cottage. Hope to see you there.

SUMMER TIME MEANS VACATIONS

Wow, I am back once again with another card. I did not think that I would make it. When I was here earlier, I failed to mention that I had attended a Copics class yesterday. It was held at the closest scrapbook store. When I say closest. I mean the only true scrapbook store in my area. It is located about 45 miles from here. The class was taught by Christine who is on the Design team for Simon Says Stamp. She is also on the design team for Scrapbook Mania. I learned some things that I didn't know. And it helped me to see where I was doing some things not quite correctly. It was interesting and made for a nice outing. My next goal is to become a certified Copics user.

Now to my card. I used three stamps on this card. one is the background stamp which is from The Pixie Cottage.  It is the tree stump with the bench and flowers. It is one of the stamps that I won from the Pixie Cottage right before my computer died. The second stamp is from Magnolia, it is the Tilda eating an icecream. My favorite Magnolia store is Magnolia-Licious Online Store it is owned and run by the wonderful Diana Crick. Stop by and see her. The customer service is great. The third stamp is the sentiment and it is from the $1 bin at Michaels. The sketch is from Just Magnolia.

I colored my card with my Copics. E13, E31, E29, E29, E57, E53, B21, B32, G17, G07, G21, G24, R20, R81, R83, YO4,  W3, W5, W7. I used my spica glitter pens to give a little sparkle to the flowers. I colored in the sky and grass to make it more like a scene. I used small pop dots to pop Tilda up and make it more three dimensional. The roses are from Prima. I used the Martha Stewart lace punch I like this one because it pucnches on both sides of the paper. And it is simple to use. Some of her punches, although they are pretty. You have to work to hard to use them. The card stock is Bazzill and the other DP papers are a mixture of Basic Grey. The pastel stripe I am not sure where that came from. I also, used the Martha Stewart leaf punch. The butterfly stamp is one of my $1 stamps. I am entering this card into several challenges and they are:
Alphabet Challenge L is for lace
Flutter by Wednesday Fairies, Angels or Butterflies
Crafty Anns Challenge ASir Richarad Song (Summer Holiday)
Secret Crafter Summer Holiday
Sweet Stampin Challenge They had an inspiration photo. I pulled my colors from there
Crafty Card Makers Photo inspiration (green blue yellow)

Well I guess that is it for tonight. I hope that you like my card. And I would love to hear from you. Have a good and productive week. I will see you back here soon.

Get Well Soon

Happy Saturday and what a busy one it is going to be. I am already 3 hours behind my schedule. I am usually up and moving by 5 am. I just got up today at 7.50 am. Boy did I need the rest. I wanted to post this card before I got out of the house this morning. It is a get well card. We hate to think of our friends and family being sick. But, if they do get sick we like to be able to do something to make them feel better. And most of the time there is not very much that we can. But a pretty card does help some. I think that this one may at least make someone smile.

The image is a freebie from The Pixie Cottage, Michelle doesn't usually give away freebies. But , I am glad that she gave this one. He is just so cute. and he can be used for many different types of cards. The image is by Artish. The Pixie Cottage challenge was to use a little green. The second challenge for this card is from Colour Create Challenge which is mint, chocolate and cream.

Doesn't this look delicious. I would love to have a piece of this pie right now. Oh well!! The next challenge is a sketch challenge from Mojo Monday.

The next challenge from Sophisticat Challenge Blog, Bling and Flourishes
And last but not least is from Die Cut Dreams, No flowers allowed

Now a little about my card. the green card stock is from Bazzill, the DP is from my stash and the chocolate and cream card stock is also Bazzill, but the chocolate embossed paper is from a pack of handmade papers that I bought at Hobby Lobby from the Paper Studio. I love these papers so much that I bought every color collection that they had with a coupon of course. The sentiment is from Inkadindado that I got at Michael's also with a coupon. I bought them because they had several sentiments and 3 different round frames included. And you know I colored with my Copics.

face: E31, E00, E02
Boots: E59, E25
Umbrella: E51, E42, E59, E25
Water Bg72
Rain Coat: BG13, YG11, G21

Now here is my card:

The funny thing about the colors on the inside of this card is that the paper is the same. But because of the lighting when taking the pictures the paper looks different. I have got to find a better lighting source especially, when it is raining like today.

Edwin Comes To Visit For The First Ttime

Good morning and what an early morning it is. It is 3:55 am. Boy do I hate waking up this early. But, I woke up coughing and wheezing with a dry mouth and nose. I need to fight this feeling before it gets any worse. And guess what. I was unable to go back to sleep. So, I figured that since I had some new projects that had not been posted I would start now.

This card is a birthday card made for a member of one of my Yahoo groups. This is the first time that I have actually signed up to be involved in any of the activitities just because I have very little extra time during the week. But, I figured that the Birthday Club would be easy, because I am always making birthday cards anyway. And my stash is getting to large. I don't want to hold on to my cards, I want to share them with others.

This is is a little larger than usual. It is 6"x9", the reason is that the background stamp is a little larger and it needed a little more room to work. The scene is by the Pixie Cottage. And I used Edwin from Magnolia. He is part of the first goodie bag that I received from my friend. But I know that you can get Edwin in many forms from the Magnolia-Licious Online Store. This is the first man's card that I have made since I started making cards. I think that it came out really good. Although it took me 2 weeks to make it work. I received an email from Bob yesterday to say that he really liked it. So that is why I am posting it today. I did not want to show it until he had received it.

The images were colored with my Copics (I have got to start practicing with my Prismacolor pencils, I have invested a lot of money in them and have only used them a couple of times.) Anyway, I colored with Copics:

Skin: E21, E00, E40
hair: Y11, E31
Clothes: B24, B32, B34
Flowers/trees: Y15, RV19, G21, G28, G07
outline: G1
Water: BG10, BG72

The papers are from Hobby Lobby, The Paper Studio. The butterflies are from my scrapbooking stash. I love butterflies and I have already replaced the ones used here. The inside sentiment on the left was cut with my Cricut. The typed sentiment was from me to Bob, from my head. I really do need to get a sentiment verse book. I really love how this card turned out.  I hope you like it too.

A spooky Halloween

Hi All,
I am back with a Halloween scrapbook page... My friend Pam recently sent me a care package full of stamped images. Boy was I surprised. But I was thrilled to get them. Some were Magnolias and some were Pixie Cottage. The images used today are from the Pixie Cottage collection. I love them and hope that you do, too.

The haunted house on this page is from Scrapbooketc., paper piecing collection. I rubbed gold ink from Color box to give the house its eerie look... the paper is from Hobby Lobby Paper Studio.  The spiders stickers from Stickopotumus and the bats are stickers from Sandiylion Essentials which I paid maybe $.70 for. I used my Cricut to cut the letters and my Copic pens to color my images of the witch and dracula. The large spider web was made with a black Copic pen. The grass was some that a friend had cut from a Quik kutz die cut for another project. And although it does not show very well in my photos, I used my new Spica glitter pens to outline the clothes of my images, the new set B. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.
