Jay Gee's Nook

Hello

I hope you are having a lovely Sunday or Saturday depending on where in the world your are :)

Have you seen the latest Paper Crafts 'Die Cutting for Paper Crafters' magazine? Our very own Angeline is featured in this issue - a lot!  She is amazing :) Today she is sharing another example with this fabulous tag using the 'Tropical Leaf' die cut from Memory Box.

I have a very sweet card from Iwona today who used this lovely silhouette image 'Dancing with Flowers' from Hero Arts. I am really loving the pink and grey colour scheme.

Ange is taking a wee break this weekend.

For my card I combined the yummy ice cream stamp from 'How Sweet' by Jane's Doodles with the mad scientist (that's how I think of him), from 'Great Chemistry' by Paper Smooches. The fun sentiment I found on line - it is a kid's quote I believe.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Jay Gee's Nook

Hello

I back today sharing another display of wonderful cards from the Jay Gee's Nook Design Team :)

Ange made this beautiful one layer card using 'Antique Blooms and Butterflies' from Hero Arts. The fun thing about this set is that it comes with it's own dies!

And a couple of gorgeous tags...

First Iwona has used 'Chloe Stem' from Memory Box and some fun splatter to create this wonderful tag.

And this one from Angeline using 'Tropical Leaf', also from Memory Box. Both tags use the negative space brilliantly.

I love combing stamp sets from the same company and also mixing sets up from different companies - makes your stamps go so much further. For my card today I have used Paper Smooches 'Pretty Phrases' for my sentiment and 'Chubby Chums' for my little dog. The santa hat comes from Jane's Doodles, 'It's The Season' set.

I'm off to watch a movie - hope you are having a relaxing weekend.

Hero Arts And A New Challenge

Hi there.

I haven't used my Hero Arts stamps in a while and I need to start making some Christmas cards. There is also a new challenge blog - CAS(E) this sketch - just started and I love their designers, so I am playing along with them :)

This paper is an old one from My Minds Eye and is super busy, so the clean design of this sketch was perfect. The 'Classic Holly' stamp is really lovely and I paired it with a sentiment from Paper Smooches 'Christmas Sampler' and the very cute 'Stitched Sentiment Flag' die from Lil' Inker Designs - LOVE!

Ok, short and sweet from me today, lots still to do :)

Cheers

Jay Gee's Nook Design Team

Hello, hello... how are you all today?

I am in a good mood, because I just started two weeks holiday - yay me! I have heaps and heaps of work around the house that needs doing, but I am hoping to slip away every now and then to make some cards :)

I have some fun cards to share with you today.

Angeline makes the most stunning cards using dies - here she has used the 'Prim Poppy' die from Memory Box.

Ange's fabulons création could easily be used as either a masculine or feminine card. The images and sentiment come from 'Old Fashioned Afternoon' by Sweet Stamp Shop.

I love this Christmas card from Iwona - look at that adorable bow!, such a fun little addition. This stamp is called 'Ivy Wreath' and it is from Hero Arts.

I made a cute little card today using some new goodies from the shop :) The tree and grass are both dies from C.C. Designs. The cute owl image is called 'Birthday Owl' and is from Lil' Inker Designs - there 2 Cute Ink line of stamps.

Well I sure hope you have a fun weekend planned with lots of crafty time :) Thanks so much for stopping by.

Jay Gee's Nook DT Post

Happy Sunday :)

I can't tell you how happy I am that school holidays have started... two weeks of, hopefully, stress free pottering around home and lots of crafty time. Yay!!

Ange unfortunately can't be with us today, she is looking after a sick child. We wish her all the best and  pray that Calum has a speedy recovery and is soon up and running around again.

But, lucky for us, the wonderful Sue from My Inner Reflection has stepped in to be our special Guest Designer this week. Welcome Sue and thank you for sharing your gorgeous card with us.

I love the tiled look Sue has created here using the butterfly from Hero Arts 'Antique Flowers and Butterflies' set. This set also comes with all the dies to match, which is perfect for making cards.

This elegant card from Angeline uses the die 'Wild Blooms' from Memory Box - they make beautiful intricate dies. I love the tone on tone effect Angeline created on this card.

One of my favourite card designers is Savannah O'Gwynn... I could seriously CASE everything she does!  She is so fearless when it comes to using Pattern Paper, something I truly envy.  Ironically, the card I am casing today is one where she has only used a little bit, but it is seriously one cool card :)

My version still uses these great speech bubble stamps from Paper Smooches 'He Said She Said'. I also used this cute little puppy from Sweet Stamp Shop's 'Buddie-Bee'. Pattenered paper from Lawn Fawn, coloured card stock and a computer generated sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Cheers

It's Lynn!!!!

Congratulations Lynn. Please email me and I will pop something in the mail for you. Next week we will start a new challenge.

Ok, I do have some cards to share.

Angeline has made this very cool and trendy tag using washi tape - I love washi tape :) The cute boots and sentiment come from Jane's Doodles 'Raindrops' set.

How about this super gorgeous Mother's Day card by Ange! I love the colour variations on the flowers - so lovely. Ange has used Jane's Doodles 'Mother's Day' set and Basic Grey/Hero Arts 'Luscious Patterned Flowers'.

 Ange

For my card today I am using the same background as my previous post (this was the first one I did, but I was going to bin it because of the bad stamping at the bottom - changed my mind :)).

There are some new Memory Box dies in store so I decided to play. This uses 'Perched Reedbird' and 'Woodland Branch' - these dies are so delicate. The sentiment is made using some old Making Memories stickers I found and a few drops of distress ink ' spiced marmalade'.

Ok, I am off to get some lunch... I am starving after all my hard work :)

Cheers

DT Magic

Hi there...

...you are going to love todays cards by the DT team, every one of them is stunning - have I told you lately how fabulous these girls are!

First up we have this stunning and dramatic card by Angeline. I love how this turned out. The stamps used are "Refections" by Paper Smooches.

For those of you celebrating the start of Spring, this gorgeous card by Ange is perfect! She has used 'Barefoot Summer' from Practicing Creativity.

Who would not want this beautiful bookmark for themselves? Iwona has done a wonderful job with this gorgeous set by Hero Arts/Studio Calico, "I Love Books".

For my card, I let the fabulous patterned paper do all the work - it is from October Afternoon, but quite old :) My adorable bunny is from Jane's Doodles "Easter Time" and the sentiment is from Practicing Creativity "Everyday Prints".

Our current challenge is still running until 31 March, you will find the link on the sidebar - we would love you to join in :)

Thanks so much for stopping by.

A Wet Sunday

Hello.

I am sitting in my craft room typing up this post and it is raining outside... it has been raining for the last four days! Still, it's a perfect excuse to get inky :)

Lets look at todays cards...

Angeline has made this amazing one layer card using a new set from Paper Smooches called 'Reflections' - the sentiment is from an older set called 'Pretty Phrases'. The colours on this card are just so pretty.

Iwona's card shows the versatility of Paper Smooches new sets. She has used 'Dapper' to stamp a pattern onto some of the circles. The sentiment comes from Hero Arts 'Frame A Message'.

This is such a sweet card from Ange using Lawn Fawn's 'My Cup of Tea' - love the design of this card and that gorgeous frame.

 Ange

This is one of those cards that I have looked at for too long and now can't decide if I like it or not!  I cased the design from somewhere, but forgot to write the blog down at the time - my apologies.

The egg and the sentiment both come from Paper Smooches 'Spring Fling' and I took the ears off the bunny from 'A Little Lovin'.
Thanks for stopping by :)

It's Tracy!!!!

Congratulations Tracy. Please email me and I will send your prize out to you. Next week we will start a new challenge.

Ok... I am very sad to share the news that this week will be Joy's last with Jay Gee's Nook, she is stepping down from the Design Team due to family commitments :(  Joy has been with me from the beginning and I truly appreciate everything she has done for the shop and me personally - she has been a true friend. I will miss being able to show her fabulous creations and wonderful talent each week. With any luck, we might be able to entice her back at a later stage :)

This stunning card from Joy uses the 'Large Flower Background' from Hero Arts - the colouring on this is just gorgeous.

 Joy

Iwona has a fabulous CAS card to share today, using this fabulous stamp 'Citrus Set' from Purple Onion Designs - it has several fun sentiments that go with the set.

And here is another fabulous CAS card from Angeline using Lawn Fawn and Paper Smooches 'Pretty Phrases'. I love how she has added colour and split the sentiment.

Ange's gorgeous card uses the adorable Miss Mia stamp from Jane's Doodles and some beautiful papers from My Minds Eye. The colours on this card are really fabulous.

My card is one of those, "I'm not sure if I like this" cards... I think there is too much paper! I go a little cross eyed when I look at this and see diagonal lines, LOL.

I used 'Faith the Chicken' from Purple Onion Designs and the paper is from My Minds Eye, 'Blush'. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches 'Chubby Chums'. This is actually an outline stamp, but I coloured the legs, beak and tail in with a black copic to make them stand out more.

Phew... I hope you are still with me. Thanks so much for stopping by :)

It's Sunday...

... which means it's time for a Jay Gee's Nook DT post :)

First up today we have this lovely, elegant one layer card from Angeline. I love the rich red teamed with white on kraft - all stamps are from Jane's Doodles 'Pretty Peonies' set.

If you find masculine cards hard to make, then look no further than Joy's wonderful blog for inspiration - she often makes fantastic masculine cards and this one is no exception. For the background she has used Hero Arts 'Newspaper Background' and the clock is from Hero Arts 'Special Time' set.

Isn't this card just so sweet! Iwona has really highlighted this adorable image with her amazing colouring and wonderful card design. The stamp is called 'Bluebirds Proposal' from Gorjuss.

CAS at its best describes Ange's awesome card! I love how she has layered this fun gnome from Paper Smooches 'Forest Whimsy' set. The fun speech bubble is a Die-namics die from MFT.

Like most of us, I have a nice collection of patterned paper that sits on my desk. Occasionally I look through it, I might even use a tiny bit to do some paper piecing, but the majority just sits. So when I saw the current challenge over at Lily Pad - to make a card that uses patterned paper - it was the perfect incentive to actually USE some of that paper that just sits.

The paper is from Basic Grey's 'Life of the Party' and the sentiment strip is from Purple Onion Designs. The sassy cat from Paper Smooches 'Party Posse' is coloured with distress inks.

And lastly, I would like to remind you about our current challenge - all the details are here :)

Have a wonderful Sunday.

I love this sweet card from Angeline - simple but so beautifully executed and so many fun little details. All stamps are from Paper Smooches 'Friendly Flowers'.

This next card from Ange cracks me up! How fun is this party scene? Such a great card and the stamps are from Paper Smooches 'Fruitastic'.

I love this new Newspaper Skyline stamp from Hero Arts and I have seen so many wonderful cards made using it. I teamed it up with Elaine from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, who I coloured with copics.

Thanks so stopping by today :)

Jay Gee's Nook Design Team

Hello and welcome to another Design Team post. I have some fabulous cards to share today, but first a reminder about our current challenge - you can find all the details here. You still have plenty of time to play and the inspiration is so gorgeous.

Lets start off with this fun card from Ange - I just love the rainbow of pencils in the jar. The stamps used are from 'Brilliant' by Hero Arts/Basic Grey and the sentiment on the flag is from 'Fruitastic' by Paper Smooches.

Next, we have a fabulous tag, perfect for a male birthday.  Iwona has used the fun 'Birthday Noteblock' from Purple Onion Designs.  Love all the extra little details on this tag.

From masculine to girly - this gorgeous card by Angeline is definitely one for the girls.  The wonderful sentiment is from 'Many Thanks' by Lawn Fawn.

I love this sweet card from Joy and that adorable image, which is so beautifully coloured. This is 'Puddles of Love' from Gorjuss.

I just adore all the images in Paper Smooches 'Party Posse' set, especially this cute little guy.  I saw a similar card idea on the Paper Smooches blog and just had to make my own version.

Enjoy whats left of your weekend :)

Sunday = Design Team Post

Hi there, it's time for another Design Team post and everyone is back today - yay!

We are starting the show with this stunning card from Angeline. Simple perfection!  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's 'Many Thanks' set.

Isn't this card just gorgeous! Ange has used this MME patterned paper to perfection... love the brads, stitching and distressing.

I am really loving all the breast cancer support stamps that have been released lately - such an important message to share. This sweet image from My Favorite Things is set off beautifully on Iwona's fabulous card.

Joy has made a fabulous tag using some new goodies from Hero Arts. She used the Newspaper Eiffel Tower stamp for the main image. The heart is a Die-namics die, 'Hearts a plenty' and it's finished off with some Mr Huey's mist and twine.

I don't know about you, but patterned paper scares me! I love to look at it, but when it comes to using more that one piece, I have no idea how to mix and match. Today's card was a challenge to myself and although very simple, I did use 3 different papers for this card :) The style is cased from the fabulous Courtney Kelley.

The scalloped border is a Die-namics die, the bird is from Jane's Doodles 'Garden Friends' and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches 'Word Salad'.

LOL, I hope you are still with us after all that. Next week we will have a new challenge for you, so make sure you come back.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful Sunday :)

Jay Gee
