Paper Players......hello

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at The Paper Players.

I started my card with a base of Thick Whisper White card stock.

I then used some water color paper to create my background piece,
I used Melon Mambo and Island Indigo ink pads and a lot of water and just swirled together and let it run. I then dried with my heat gun and and a bunch of droplets of water and let those set for a bit then dabbed off which is what creates the light circle spots. Love that cool effect.

When I first sat down to make my card I had thought I would use a flower of some sort for the circle element on this sketch, (no surprise there huh? lol)
But in the end I did not like what I was doing so I decided to use a butterfly instead.

I die cut my butterfly from Melon Mambo card stock.
The hello is a die cut, non SU.
I used some silver glimmer paper for the other flag element.

I covered the whole water colored piece  with my wink of stella pen, it has a pretty little glimmer, you can kinda see it in this pic:

Sweet Sunday......birthday wishes

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Time for a new sketch over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Blog.

Here is the fun sketch we have for you this week:

I have been wanting to break into my pack of Stampin Up Go Wild paper stack. So I decided this would be my inspiration for this sketch.

I pulled out my stack and got busy!
The base of the card is Basic Black and then a layer of Crumb Cake and then I pulled out the polka dot print from this pack, I love polka dots, don't you?

My little rectangle elements on the card are layered up with Crumb Cake, Basic Black and another print from the Go wild Stack

I left the middle piece without DSP to showcase my pretty butterfly.

I die cut two with Crumb Cake and one with Vellum, using the Butterfly Thinlits and the Bold Butterfly Thinlits.
I added some Gold Glimmer down the body of the Butterfly and some linen thread for the antennas.
The sentiment comes from the Build a Birthday stamp set and I added a small strip of Gold Glimmer under it as well.

Thank you for stopping by today!!

Fab Friday on Monday

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge
this week at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog.

I think this is the first time for me to play along with this challenge.

The challenge this week is to use the new In-Colors. Use a few or use all.

I ended up using four of the five colors. You may remember this card, I made awhile back using one of the butterfly dies. At that time I thought of making some just with some bright pretty colors inlaid into the die cuts and this was the perfect excuse to do that.
I guess it would be easier to just lay a black cut out butterfly over the colored cardstock I wanted to use, but that is not the look I was going for.
I die cut three black butterflies using one of the Bold Butterfly dies and then die cut again with three of the in colors I was using.
I glued the black butterfly down to some scrap white card stock and then inlaid the colored pieces.
I used Delightful Dijon, Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron

The base of the card is the Tip top Taupe and I embossed one of the layers with the Brick Wall EF.
The sentiment on here is from the new Birthday Blossoms stamp set.
I added some twine for the antennas and three little pearls down the body.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Freshly Made Sketch......You Are My Sunshine

Happy Thursday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on The Freshly Made Sketches Blog.

I wanted to use the Butterfly Thinlits to make this pretty Monarch type butterfly. I was sooooo late getting on board with these butterfly dies, I do not know why????? I didn't get them when they were first released and by the time I did want them they were out of stock  and on back order for a long time.
I have had so much fun with this die in particular out of the set. I decided to inlay them with color to mimic a Monarch Butterfly. I love seeing them in the late Summer here, and I think everyone can relate to their beauty in some way.

Anyway I die cut the butterfly first with Basic Black card stock and then glued it onto some scrap white card stock. I then die cut it again with White, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry card stock. I then begun to glue in the individual pieces. That took a bit of time and was a little tedious but I do love the look.

The base of my card is Crumb Cake and then a layer of white and then another piece of Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Hardwood BG stamp. I used Crumb Cake ink for that.
I then used a doily for the circle element in the sketch. Next layer is the piece that the butterfly is mounted onto. I used white and Crushed Curry card stock for that. I hand drew in the butterfly trail trail lightly with a pencil and used my mat and piercing tool to poke the holes.
I added this piece to the base with some dimensionals.

The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder onto black card stock. The sentiment comes from the Ray of Sunshine stamp set.

I added some rhinestones down the middle of the butterfly graduating the sizes downward as I went.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Happy Stampin!!!!

Curtain Call.....Wish Big

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 20.

The color challenge this week is real red, bashful blue, whisper white and certainly celery. Gorgeous spring colors huh?

I decide to do some butterflies with the Sizzix Embosslits Beautiful Wings. I cut out three one in each of the colors. I layered them up by mixing the three colors and added two white brads to the middle of each. I mounted them to the whisper white piece with some foam tape. I matted the white piece with some bashful blue and the sentiment is stamped with real red ink and come from the "Short & Sweet" stamp set.

The base of the card is real red and I followed that with a piece of whisper white that I had ran through my cuttlebug with the swill dot embossing folder.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
