Hello Beautiful

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today's card features the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I pulled my Lovely Lattice stamp set to use.
I stamped the image onto some thick whisper white card stock and fussy cut out just a portion of it to use on my card.

I used Calypso Coral and some Daffodil Delight on the flowers.
The leaves are colored with Granny Apple Green and I colored in between some I couldn't cut out with a little Pool Party.

The base of my card is thick whisper white card stock.
I then used another piece of thick whisper white that I embossed with the Basket Weave EF.
I die cut the scallop edge pieces with black card stock.
This scallop edge is in the Be Mine Stitched Framelits, and I love it!

I glued the embossed piece directly to my card base.
The piece of black gingham DSP is from the Botanical Butterfly pack and is a freebie in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I need another pack because I have used most of the black gingham already!

The flowers are added to the card with dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.
I stamped it onto some scrap whisper white with Black Memento ink and fussy cut around it.
It is then added to the card with dimensionals as well.

The gold pearls are some I bought at a local craft store.

Thank you for stopping by today.

I used a Lovely Lipstick base and  and some DSP from the All My Love pack.

I stamped the cupcake using Crumb Cake ink and he icing is done with lovely lipstick.
The little heart is flirty flamingo.

My white die cut scallops are from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits and
the little embellishment at the top is also from the framelit set.

I hope you can play along with us at SUO Challenges

We welcome anyone as long as you are using Stampin Up only in your creations,

Friends

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Sorry for the late post, I had this scheduled to go live this morning and for some
reason it failed to do so, could be operator error or maybe just blogger being fussy!!

Over at Addicted to CAS, the code word is Friends

and at Just us Girls Challenge  they are looking for Pastels

This card would had been one layer but I dropped my water brush while coloring and go a blob of color on the top of card.

So I ended up cutting it down and adding a layer.

I am using the Lovely Lattice stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.

It IS lovely for sure!

I colored using my water brush and  Flirty Flamingo ink.
I didn't get the depth I wanted with just the single color this time and ended up going back in with some Lovely Lipstick to darken a bit
The leaves are colored with Pear Pizzazz ink.

I used a bit of Pool Party to color the background a little.

The sentiment comes from a set from last year's Sale-A-Bration called Happy Wishes.

I finished with just a few rhinestones in the flower centers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday.....Thank you

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week
Designed by our own Barb Anders:

I was happy to get a small order on Friday from Stampin Up with this sweet single stamp called
Love is Kindness. I knew it was perfect for this sketch.

I started by stamping the image, minus the sentiment several times onto some Confetti Cream card stock. (I knew I wanted to layer up this image). I colored the flower heads with Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral using my water brush.
The leaves and stems are colored with Old Olive and I used Crumb cake on the paper around the stems and also for shading around the image.

The base of the card is Confetti Cream card stock followed by Basic Black and then a piece of DSP from the Typeset Specialty paper pack. I matted the image with black and coral and used another piece of coral for the slanted piece behind the main image.

The sentiment is from the SAB Lotus Blossom set. I used my 1 inch and 1-1/4 inch punches.
The image is added to the card base with dimensionals. I then cut out some of the tulip heads and added them over the main image with more dimensionals. I also cut and extra piece of the paper wrap and added that over the base with dimensionals as well. I then went back into the image and added a bit of white with my chalk pen. I added several small pearls around the image and in the top corner of the image panel.

Now let's see what the rest of the girls did with this fun little sketch:

Dynamic Duos....Perfect Day

Happy Saturday Peeps.

Time for a new color challenge at the Dynamic Duos Blog.

I pulled out a fun new SAB set called "Vintage Verses."
I stamped the sentiment/image onto the Island Indigo card stock with versmark and embossed with some white embossing powder.
I then sponged the center and edges with Island Indigo ink. Very easy and I love the effect. I then matted this image with more Indigo card stock.
I added a strip of punched white card stock across the top, punched with the dotted scallop ribbon border punch.

The base of the card is Pool Party card stock and the next layer is also pool party that I embossed with the perfect dots EF.
The DSP on here is from the Sycamore Street paper pack which is also free during Sale-A-Bration.
I added some Delicate Details Lace Tape across the bottom edge of the main image piece. I then made three rolled flowers using my Sizzix 3-D flower die (non SU) and added them to the card using my glue gun.
I then added some basic pearls to the flower centers and to the top left corner.
I then added two small white flags made from a scrap piece of embossed white card stock I found in my scrap pile.

The rest of the Dynamo Design Team have some wonderful examples with these colors so be sure and hop on over to Dynamic Duos Blog for some great inspiration!!

Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Dynamic Duos....Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

It is time for a new color challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

This week is a Soft and Subtle pallet:

I am using a couple of items from the upcoming Stampin Up SAB flyer.
The flowers and leaves on here are from the Bloomin Marvelous stamp set and I also used a piece from the Happy Hello Simply Sent Card Kit.
The piece on the bottom of the card is cut from an envelope from the kit. I guess it was kinda a waste of an envelope, but I wanted to use this paper on my card and I can salvage the envelope with some other DSP, at another time.
I also used the new Honeycomb EF on the top half of the card, I LOVE this EF.

I matted the bottom piece with some white card stock, I just laid the yellow piece onto some white and traced the design and hand cut it out. I distressed the edges of the white a bit to hide the imperfect hand cut piece.
I used some retired whisper white satin ribbon across the two pieces.

Be sure and head on over the the Dynamic Duos Blog and see what the rest of the team did with these colors! Sure hope you can play along!

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Thanks

Happy Thursday Peeps!
Today's card share is a semi CASE of THIS card by Donna of Butternut Sage Designs. I first saw it on Stampin Connection, a demo only site, and thought it was so pretty and definitely  a very mailable card, I wanted to make one like it. I, of course, changed it up a bit in the course of making it. I LOVE the new Stampin UP edgelits dies, but they have proved to be just a bit challenging for me. Maybe it is just me but I have had a little bit of trouble making my layers line up properly, but I will keep at it and get it figured out.
So even tho this cards layers are not quite perfect, I still like the outcome.

You can see more in this pic where the layers are off somewhat! EEEK!!

So anyway the card is made with confetti cream card stock and the DSP and stamp set is from the upcoming Stampin Up Sale-a-Bration which begins the 24th of this month.
The stamp set is called Outlined Occasions and the DSP is Everyday Enchantment, that paper is awesome!!!
The butterfly is from the "Flight of the Butterfly" stamp set.
I stamped the butterfly with Calypso Coral onto the card and once on some scrap card stock. I cut it out and added it to the base gluing it just in the middle and pulling up the wings. I added a couple of basic pearls in the center of the butterfly and to the top edges of the card.
The "Thanks"  is colored in with my aqua painter using calypso coral, baja breeze and old olive ink.
Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!

Birthday Wishes

Another quick drive by, wanted to share with you this card I made last week for a neighbor who requested a birthday card for her daughter. The birthday isn't until early next month but I wanted to get it done and I wanted to break open the pretty SAB DSP paper pack and it is a nice break from all the Christmas cards I have been doing lately.
I used the Build a Blossom punch to make my flower. It is punched with calypso coral and embossed with the houndstooth EF, I sponged the petals with whisper white craft ink. The brad in the center is also a SAB item.

The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and stamped with black stazon onto some confetti cream card stock. I then used the oval and scallop oval punch.
The leaves are made with Lucky Limeade card stock, I embossed them as well. The flower is added to the card with some dimesionals.
Well, gotta run HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC107....Celebrate

GOOD MORNING PEEPS!!! It's Sunday which means it is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

This is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week:

Well, I say fabulous but in reality, I dislike sketches like these, the kind with small squares or circles, they freak me out. The DT has been chatting it up about this sketch and some of the upcoming ones, because one has a tilted panel, and some people really HATE those, not me, I will take a tilted panel over these squares any day, but that is enough whining from me!!! LOL!!

I have figured out that these squares are not getting to me, so if I ignore them they don't win, so that is what I did, oh, they are still there, but grouped close together and with the same color and texture they almost look like one complete panel, and that "works" for me!!! HA! HA!

I used some crumb cake, very vanilla and rose red card stock for my card, I did add in a bit of rose red DS paper from the Sweet & Sour paper pack. I have been having fun lately with ribbon, putting at least two pieces together, today I used some rose red and crumb cake seam binding! Love that look! I used my favorite SAB set called Sweet Slumber and paired it with the cute Aviary set. I stamped the flower flourish with black stazon onto the very vanilla and colored it in a bit with my aqua painter. I stamped the bird cage with the rose red bird inside onto some scrap and cut it out. I added it to the card base with a dimensional, hanging it down past the main image panel, cute huh? The sentiment "Celebrate" is from the Something to Celebrate level 2 hostess set in the occasions mini! I made it into a small flag and added it to the card with dimensionals and added a few little silver pearls to the end.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

SSSC104....Heartfelt Thanks

GOOD MORNING PEEPS!!! It's Sunday which means it is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

This is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week:

I pulled out another SAB set for this card, this set is called Bliss, and I think it is fabulous! I love the big flourish and the butterfly it is so pretty!

I used basic black for my card base and I followed it with some riding hood red and some of the First Edition Speciality Designer Series Paper, this paper is very cool, it is lighter weight and looks like a vintage encyclopedia. The pack has ALOT of paper in it, 24 double sided sheets!!! I embossed this piece with the square lattice EF.

The main layer is more of the First Edition Paper and I stamped the flourish from the "Bliss" set directly onto the paper with black stazon. I stamped the butterfly from that set onto some scrap very vanilla with riding hood red and then cut it out. I added it to the main panel with some mono liquid glue, just gluing the center so I could pull up the wings a bit.

I added some black satin ribbon across the bottom, scrunching it a bit as I went across. The sentiment on here comes from the Sweetheart stamp set and I added an antique brad to the sentiment circle. I then added some sticky rhinestones to the butterfly and to the main panel.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

SC319....Get Well wishes

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with the sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

This was a fun sketch to work with. I used the Sweet Summer set that you can get free during the SAB promotion going on right now. I stamped the flower heads on some watercolor paper and colored them in with some regal rose ink using my aqua painter. I cut them out and then stamped the stem/leaves image onto another piece of watercolor paper. I colored them in with old olive ink and my aqua painter. I then used some dimensionals and added the flower heads onto the stems.

I stamped the little butterfly and colored it in with a bot of bashful blue and then cut it out and added it with a dimensional too. The Designer Series Paper I used comes from the retired Georgia Peach paper pack I used some Regal Rose ribbon and tied a pretty little bow.

The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped with black stazon onto a scrap piece of watercolor paper. I used my word window punch to punch it out and I added it to the ribbon with some sticky tape. This is to mimic the square piece on the sketch, a bit of a stretch, I think, but hey it is an element there, so it works!

Well, that is all from me, tomorrow and Saturday I will be showing you some more of my "Monster Cards", so stay tuned for them! Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

OCC....Happy Birthday!

Hello Peeps and Happy Monday!!!

Today I am sharing a card i made with the challenge this week on the Our Creative Corner Blog. It's a "Three Musketeers" color challenge which actually means an analogous color scheme challenge. So we are to choose any 3 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. I choose, Red, Orange and Yellow, which translates in my colors as, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard. I have to admit, this is NOT my favorite card I have ever made, the colors are a bit much for my taste.

I used the SAB set Sweet Summer and water colored the flowers with the colors I choose. I also used some always artichoke for the leaves! The base of the card is Poppy Parade and I followed that with some pumpkin pie card stock and the DS paper from the Sweet and Sour Speciality Pack. I used a bit of more mustard that I had embossed with the square lattice EF, I cut the image out with my circle nesties and matted with a scallop circle nestie in poppy parade. I used some poppy parade ribbon and wrapped it around and tied a pretty bow. I was going to have the sentiment hang from the bow but couldn't get one I liked to work. So I just ended up stamping and using the word window punch and added it across the middle flower at the bottom. I finished it off with a few silver pearls and called it done!!

I have a mojo card to show you tomorrow that I like much better and this weekend will be a busy time on the blog, Saturday I will have my first item up as one of the new Design Team members on the Our Creative Corner Blog and the Paper Crafters Sample Design Team will be having a blog hop and of course the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, so be sure and keep an eye out for all the FUN!!!

Well, that is all from me today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC101.....Thank You for your Kindness

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING PEEPS!!! It's my favorite time of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

This is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week:

I started my card with a base of Pear Pizzazz. I followed that up with some designer paper form the Springtime Vintage paper pack, which is a new pack in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Love this paper! I then used the Top Note die and some Baja Breeze card stock and another piece of paper from the Springtime Vintage pack. The main element is an oval piece of watercolor paper that is matted with a pear pizzazz scallop oval.

I used a SAB set, that will be available starting the 25th for free with a $50.00 purchase. The set is called Sweet Summer. I am really liking this set for water coloring, so pretty. The sentiment is from the Hostess set Occasional Quotes. I added some pear pizzazz ribbon and some pearls to the corners. I also added some diamond dust glitter to the bee's wings and to the flower centers.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

This week we are welcoming a new member to the Sketch Team: The fabulous Dana White from Dana's House of Cards. Be sure and stop by and welcome her to the team!!

Botanical Blooms

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!! Hope you are having a great week so far.

Today's card is made with the sketch on Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing.

I used a Botanical Bloom set from SU's Sale-a-Bration. This is a fun little set to work with. You can use the outline image, as I did here, or you can stamp the middle. I began by stamping my flowers onto watercolor paper, and then some leaves stamp randomly around the flowers. I then stamped several leaves and flowers onto scrap watercolor paper. I then "colored" them all in with my aqua painter and ink squished into the lid of my riding hood red and kiwi kiss ink pads.

I then started to cut them all out to layer. The flowers cut fairly easily, the leaves where a bit more tricky and takes much patience, grasshopper!!! LOL! I layered them up a couple of times on the flowers and once on the leaves with dimensionals.

After getting them all the way I wanted I took my crystal effects and covered the flowers and leaves. I then sprinkled just a bit of diamond dust onto the flower centers. I then sit that piece aside to dry.

Here is a closeup of the flowers, they are very pretty and sparkly IRL!

The base of the card is made with Riding Hood Red Card stock followed by some regal rose and the DS paper is from the Bella Rose pack. The Kiwi kiss piece is punched at the bottom with the new lace edge punch and I added silver brads to the middle of each scallop. I matted the main panel with regal rose and riding hood red. I edge punched the riding hood red piece with the lace punch as well. I pierced around the inside edge, added a strip of kiwi kiss satin ribbon across the bottom and the sentiment is from the SU set "All Holidays". I punched it out with my small oval punch and then used the large oval to mat with regal rose. I also added two silver brads to it. I pierced around the outer edge of the card at the top and sides down to the kiwi stip not sure you can see that in the picture tho.

The main image panel was mounted to the card with dimensionals after allowing to completely dry.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

A Little Something

Happy Thursday Ya'all!!! Hope your week has gone smoothly. We are on the down hill slide to the weekend!

Today's card is made with one of my favorite new sets from SU, "Petal Pizazz" and teamed up with a fun little set from SAB "Yummy"!!

I started with a base of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, another scrap, cut at 6-1/2 by 4-1/4. I then scored the 6-1/2 inch piece at 1 inch. I then used a piece of riding hood red that was 4-1/4 by 5-1/4 inches and attached them by sliding the RHR piece under the Orange and gluing. I then scored the red piece with my scor-pal at the edge of the pumpkin pie piece. I then attached my ribbon and stuck it together with some score tape. So in other words this card opens at the edge of the pumpkin pie piece, that wraps around from the back. I know I am not explaining this well, but I think you know what I mean huh?

I used some DS paper from the Washington Apple pack and adhered that to the front. The sentiment and green swirl are from the SAB set called "Yummy" It is a large stamp the block itself measures 4-1/2 inches and the stamp is about 4 inches total. I only used half of it. I masked off the sentiment and part of the swirl with post it notes and inked it up in old olive and stamped it onto my white piece. I then used more post it notes to mask off all but the sentiment and then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to center the sentiment where I wanted it. It is stamped with black stazon.

I then made my flower with the Petal Pizazz set. Stamped the flowers with riding hood red ink and pumpkin pie ink. Cut the out an layered them up with some dimensionals. The center is a brad from the Build a Brad and a RHR center is added to the middle. Old olive leaves are stamped, cut out and put in around the flower as well.

I added a brad at the corner of the sentiment panel and some of my "fave" piercing in the other corner.

I was thinking I might possibly make this into a gift card holder.

So that's it for today, I am so happy you stopped by today and love to read the comments you leave. HAPPY STAMPING!!

Congratulations

TGIF Peeps! Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

Today's card is one I made with the SU SAB set called "Congrats" and also the SAB set Botanical Blooms. The sentiment and flowers where stamped onto some shimmer white cardstock and then matted with rose red.

The base of the card is also rose red followed by shimmer white and then bravo burgundy. I ran the burgundy through the cuttlebug with my swiss dot embossing folder. I also added a strip of white shimmer that I had edge punched with the new SU punch, followed that by a small strip of rose red that I had pierced. I added three sticky pearls in the bottom corner.

I am going to use this card for a 25th Anniversary party that I am going to tonight. The inside says..."on another year of happiness together".

That's all I have for you today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Welcome Baby

Hello Peeps! It's Saturday and the weather is great and SAS is this afternoon, all is good!!!

Today's card is a cute little baby card made with the DS paper and ribbon from SAB.

Yesterday while blog surfing I visited Toy's Haven. One of my all time favorite stampers and a really sweet person! Holly is a Stamping Rock Star. And speaking of Rock stars yesterday she had a sneak peek of some fun new stamps soon to be released by Our Craft Lounge. I simply fell in love with her cards, especially this one. I love the colors and the design.

My card today is based on that design. I used her layout and the same MS edge punches, just changed the colors to fit my baby card.

Not alot of stamping on this one, the sail boat is made with a circle punch and a couple of rectangle pieces of card stock cut at angles. I have seen this done alot around splitcoast and blogland. The colors I used are bashful blue, certainly celery and so saffron. The designer paper is from the new SAB pack as is the certainly celery twill ribbon. That ribbon is really nice, has a great feel and ties well.

The sentiment is from the SU set short and sweet and is stamped in black and punched out with the word window punch and is mounted on dimensionals. Alot of paper piercing done with my piercing tool and mat pack. The sailboat is also on dimensionals and I punched three circles with my 1/4" punch out of bashful blue and use some saffron brads in the middle and mounted them under the ribbon knot.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Vicki
