SSSC88....Because I Care

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING PEEPS!!! It's my favorite time of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

This is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week:

The base of my card is Cajun Craze and The DS paper I used is from the Autumn Spice paper pack. I stamped the leaf from the Growing Green stamp set onto water color paper with black stazon. I colored the leaf in with my aqua painter and some more mustard and cajun craze ink from my ink pads. I outlined the whole image with some crumb cake ink. From the first time I spotted this stamp set in the catalog I have been imagining this leaf done in some glorious fall colors, I love it! After finishing the coloring, I ran it through my cuttlebug with the square lattice embossing folder. I matted it with cajun craze card stock. The sentiment is from the Because I care stamp set. I added some very vanilla ribbon and the center brad is from the antique brads. I used the scallop edge punch along the edge first with very vanilla and then with a piece of the DS paper from the same pack.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

SSSC46 Starry Snowman

Good Sunday Morning Peeps!!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!!! Here is the sketch we are using this week:

Loved this sketch and you know I lovin' this super fun "Snow Buddies" stamp set from SU. It is a level 2 hostess set and I am thrilled I was able to get it. I love snowmen and find them all adorable and this one is no exception.

I started my card off by choosing my DS paper, which comes from the Holiday Lounge DS pack. The card stock I used is Taken with Teal, Shara Sand and of course whisper white.

I stamped the snowman with black staZon onto whisper white and then stamped it again onto some taken with teal scrap, so I could cut out his scarf. I used my white gel pen to color in his dots on the scarf. I stamped the hat separate and col red it in with black and teal markers. I then cut it out and glued it on his head, just slightly askew. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to add his arms and the string and the star he is holding. The other 2 stars where stamped onto scrap white and colored with my summer sun marker and cut out and mounted to the main image panel with a bit of a dimensional. I used my circle and inverted scallop circle nesties to cut the snowman image and mat.

I added a bit of stardust stickles to the stars and the ground under the snowman. I pierced around the edge of the teal DS paper layer and added 3 silver brads and the sentiment comes from the "Christmas Greetings" stamp set and was stamped with taken with teal, I should have used black.

I hope you have some time to play along with us this week. Come join in on the fun and create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen's blog and link your card using Mr. Linky so all of us can see your creation!

Sweet Goblins

Good Sunday Afternoon Peeps! Hope you are having a peaceful day!

Today I have two cards to share with you, both are made with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I really love this layout, very cute!

I am still on a Halloween kick here, this time I used the awesome Night & Day DS paper pack. I also used the same sets on both cards, Twick or Tweet and Grateful Greetings, which is in the mini.

Both cards have a base of Basic Black. I used white and black for layering. on the first one I used a bit of pumpkin pie for a pop of color. I love how it looks with the black and white. The main image is stamped with stazon onto some watercolor paper. I then used my aqua painter along with pumpkin pie, really rust, elegant eggplant and summer sun ink to color it. I used my MS drippy goo punch to layer the sentiment, which is from the Grateful Greetings set. I tied some pumpkin pie ribbon around it and added three sparkly orange rhinestones.

This next one is a bit smaller than the first. I stamped the cute little chick directly onto some of the DS paper and only colored in the pumpkin basket with a bit of pumpkin pie ink and my aqua painter.

I added some black grosgrain ribbon and white mini brads for accents. I used the modern label and word window punches for the sentiment.

Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC Happy Halloween

Good Monday Morning Peeps. Hope you are all enjoying the Labor Day Weekend, at least those of you who get the day off.

My card today are made with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I really love this layout, simple and sweet!

My card is a 5 inch square and the base is made from basic black. I then followed it with some pumpkin pie cardstock and then the DS paper I used is last years Halloween pack, now retired.

The main image is stamped with black stazon onto water colored paper. I stamped the large pumpkin first and then masked it off and stamped the little one. I colored them in using my aquapainter and the inks I used are, more mustard, pumpkin pie, really rust ruby red and chocolate chip. The pumpkins are from the Autumn Harvest set, the spider comes from the retired Autumn Apparitions and the sentiment is from Teeny Weeny Wishes.

I added a couple of sticky gold rhinestones to the spiders eyes. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the fence and then a two black brads on the sentiment and on the layer behind the main image.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for by stopping and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Elegant Upsy Daisy

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!! Hope your weekend went well! We are having beautiful weather here in southwest Missouri!

Today's card is made with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

My card is a 5 inch square of PTI white card stock. I followed that by 1/4 inch smaller piece of elegant eggplant. The beautiful DS paper is from the Autumn Traditions pack. The piece to the side is elegant eggplant again that I ran through the cuttlebug with my swiss dot embossing folder. The ribbon is the whisper white Organza Ribbon. I stamped the flowers in elegant eggplant ink and cut the circle and scallop circle with my nesties. The sentiment is stamped with eggplant on some scrap white and punched out with the oval punch and layered onto a punched oval scallop. I added a small library clip.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Always on My Mind

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today's card is made with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I was blog surfing awhile back and saw this beauty by Nancy Morgan. My card is pretty much a CASE of hers. I so wanted to try the beautiful flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral in black and white like hers! My sentiment comes from the SU set Stem Sayings. I added three black brads and a spiral clip with some black and white checkered ribbon.

One of the flowers is stamped on scrap paper and cut out and added to the card with some dimensionals. I added some crystal effects to some petals of the rose like the original.

Saturday afternoon and evening I spent with my friend Lois. We had such fun, we always do. We laughed so much and in between we made this:

This is a super fun project that Lois had purchased the tutorial of from Becky Roberts, a super talented lady and fellow Catty Cruise Mate.

I wanted to make a Halloween one and Lois was going to make a Christmas themed one, but after we started, Lois ended up with a Halloween themed one as well, we are both going to try a Christmas one soon. I used three different stamp sets on this, one is retired, Autumn Apparitions and Tasty Sweet and Batty for You are current. The DS paper I used is retired.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Sweet Halloween

TGIF Peeps!!!!

Well, I finally got some time to play with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I know it is a bit early for Halloween cards but I couldn't help myself, I just recently got this DS paper and had to use it! I love Halloween so I am sure you will be seeing alot more in the next few months!

This card turned out to be fairly big, it is 4 inches wide by 8 inches long. I had to make it that size to accommodate the sketch and the stamps I wanted to use.

I started out with a base of basic black and followed that with some pumpkin pie cardstock and then some of the new Cast-A Spell Ds paper.

I was very much inspired by this card by Nancy Riley. Isn't is just adorable!!!
I used the same cardstock colors and DS paper she used. I just changed it up to fit the sketch and the stamps I used.

I stamped the pumpkins from Autumn Harvest on watercolor paper. I stamped the small pumpkin first and then made a mask for it with some sticky note paper and then stamped the large pumpkin. I colored them with my aqua painter and used the following inks, more mustard, pumpkin pie and really rust. I also used some chocolate chip ink for the stem and ground.

The sentiment comes from the retired SU set Autumn Apparitions, which I love and wish it had never retired! I also used some pumpkin pie corduroy brads and button. I used my Martha Stewart Drippy Goo Punch and the SU scallop edge punch.

I don't know what you would mail this in, I don't have any envies this size. Since it is very large, It could be just added to a gift or tray of treats or used for decoration, I guess!

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC Thinking of You

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! I hope everyone is having a good week so far! It has been nice here, cool in the mornings when I head out for my walks and cool in the evenings when I walk again! It really heats up during the day, but only into the upper 80's so still tolerable!

Today's card is made with the
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge on Karen Giron's blog the sweetest thing.

My card is a 4-1/2 inch square. I used old olive for the base followed by rich razzleberry and then some Designer paper from the Cottage Wall pack.

The stamp set I used is the SU set "Trendy Trees". I stamped the tree top with old olive and then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the trunk. I used my circle and scallop circles to cut out the tree. I stamped the sentiment with chocolate chip and matted it with rich razzleberry. I added some old olive buttons to the sentiment panel and to the bottom strip. I attached these buttons directly to the card with some twine and a needle.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Get Well Soon

Good Monday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge on Karen Giron's blog the sweetest thing.

Of all the textured card stock we had in the last cattie, this one, To the Nines, was my least favorite, and it is the only one that is in the new cattie, go figure! I loved the textured speciality DS paper we had last cattie, I was hoping for more this time.

I figured I should try to use it again, it does make some nice manly type cards. This one is made with Shara sand and chocolate chip card stock. I used the stamp set, Thoughts and Prayers and inked up the tree with my always artichoke ink pad and then went over the trunk and branches of the tree with my chocolate chip marker. I stamped it onto some Shara sand and cut it out with my nesties and cuttlebug. The scallop is also made with the nesties.

The sentiment comes from the same set and I stamped it with chocolate chip ink onto Shara sand and layered it with chocolate chip. I used the curly label punch to make the ends of my flag on both pieces of card stock.

I added some chocolate chip twill ribbon between the two pieces of the DS paper. Simple little get well card, can you believe I didn't add any brads? LOL!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Thinking of You

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend.

Today's card is made with the
Sweet Sunday Sketch on Karen Giron's blog. I just love here sketches and have been participating in them for awhile now. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I went to look for the new sketch and saw this. I was the Sweet Sunday sketch winner from last week!!! I am so honored, thank you Karen!

Now onto this weeks card. I used the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set and the Kind & Caring Thoughts Stamp set. I inked up the flower with my razzleberry ink pad, I don't have the ink color markers yet, and then used my old olive marker to color the leaves and stems. I stamped the sentiment with Rich Razzleberry ink as well.

The base of the card is made with rich razzleberry cardstock cut to 4-1/2 inches by 9 inches and folded in half. I followed that with whisper white and then some designer paper from the new Cottage Wall DS pack.

I added some old olive 1/4 inch grosgrain and tied a knot around it and added a small white grommet. I then added two more small grommets and added white brads to the middle of them. I had bought these small grommets when they first came out in the last mini and haven't really used them at all. I think they look cute with a brad in the center.

Well, that is it for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Distressed Flower Friend

Good Afternoon Peeps. It is getting hot again here is southwest Missouri, we had a few very nice days. It was always cool early in the morning when I would head out for my walk and then when I would walk again in the evening it was nice too. Now it is heating back up and that will curtail my walking, I just don't handle the heat very well so when it is 98 degrees out with 90% humidity, this chickie is hiding in the air conditioned house!!!!

Well, on to today's card. I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for this card. I had been wanting to try these cute little distressed flowers that I have seen all over the place lately. So when I saw the sketch I thought one of those flowers would be cute as the circle element shown on the sketch.

I made my flower with three circles of card stock, 2- 1-3/8 inch circles and 1-1 inch circle. The colors I used are dusty durango and crushed curry. I used my distressing tool and ran it around the edges of each circle alot. I added a silver brad to the center to hold them all together. I made my leaves by using a scrap of mellow moss cardstock folded in half and ran through my crimper. I then just cut out three leaves on the fold.

The sentiment is stamped with dusty durango and is from the All Holidays stamp set. I added the butterfly from the Happy Heart Day stamp set. I masked off the trail coming from the butterfly with a post-it note before inking it up with some black stazon. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up where i wanted it. I then, with a pencil, lightly drew in a trail to pierce. Once I pierced it I erased the pencil line. I colored the butterfly in with a blender pen and some crushed curry ink from my stamp pad.

The DS paper is from the Razzleberry Lemonade DS pack and I pierced all around the designer series layer. I added a piece of dusty durango ribbon and then glued on my sentiment panel.

The flower is mounted with a couple of dimensionals and then the leaves are glued down underneath the edges of the flower. Finally I added a couple of silver sticky rhinestones to the center of the butterfly.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Sweet-Heart

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today's card is made for the Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

I used some of the new in-colors for this card and paired it up with a favorite old set of mine, Happy Harmony. The sentiment is from the Small Sayings set. The base is Rich Razzleberry followed with whisper white and then Melon Mambo and then some of the yummy Razzleberry Lemonade DS paper. I cut the circle and the scallop circle with my nesties and cuttlebug. I inked up the flower heads of the stamp with Melon Mambo and then used a old olive marker to color in the stems. I used some rich razzleberry ink from my ink pad and my aqua painter to add a bit of darker color onto the flowers.

The two strips across the card are melon mambo and one is ran through the cuttlebug with a embossing strip and I punched the end of both the sentiment strip and two melon strips with my photo corner punch to make the ends.

Well, that is all for now, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

"Thanks So Much" for new stuff!

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!! Hope you are ready for some more new stuff!! I have to say, I have heard some demos say they are not fond of the new in colors, but I just love them! I always think I will have a hard time letting go of the "old" in colors and every year when the new ones come out and we get our first glimpse I think WHAT??? I don't think I would want to give up Baja Breeze or Riding hood red, but then the Razzleberry and Melon Mambo are so fabulous!

Today I am using Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and some more new stuff! I am using the new in colors Soft Suede and Crushed Curry. Again no ribbon, so I created a "ribbon look" with the paper. The stamp set used is also a new sneak peek set, "Autumn Days" and the sentiment is from the new Level 3 Hostess set "Kind & Caring Thoughts".

Well, that is all for today Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

Whoo! Hoo!

Good Friday Morning Peeps!! Today's card is made with the sketch on the Stamps and Smiles Fresh Batch Blog.

The owl is a CASE of this fabulous one by Connie Collins. I have been wanting to try it every since I saw hers. I loved how she did the eyes on the owl, instead of the hearts that come with the chipboard. I used the same DS paper, Good Morning Sunshine, that she used.

I really like how it came out, not sure about the grommet and knot I added, but once it is on there you can't turn back. The sentiment I used is from the Just Celebrate stamp set.

Well, that is it for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Sweet Friend Sketch!

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made from the sketch on Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing. I just love her blog, you should take some time to peruse her beautiful work.

This sketch was a bit challenging for me, with all its components. I started with my favorite chocolate chip for the base, followed by some regal rose and the Sweet Always DS paper.

The stamp set I used is a new one I stamped off a couple of images while visiting my friend Lois over the weekend, it is called Asian Artistry and is a Level 2 Hostess set from the new catalog coming out July 1st.

It is stamped with black stazon onto watercolor paper. I colored it in with old olive and bashful blue for the dragonfly. I used some pumpkin pie to color in the flower heads on this, but after getting the card all together I felt the image really didn't fit my card design, so I punched some flowers out with my three flower punch and some regal rose card stock and added some white mini brads and pop dotted them up around the grass. It really changed the feel of this set and took it completely away from being Asian, which I don't do, I don't know how to capture that feel, I just know the colors I used for this card is NOT Asian.

The sentiment is from the Best Yet hostess set and is stamped onto white and punched out with the 1-3/8 inch circle punch and layered onto a scallop pumpkin pie scallop circle and is up on dimensionls. I pierced around everything! The large circle and scallops are cut out with my nesties and cuttlebug. I added some chocolate chip brads and some regal rose ribbon.

This next card is one I did last week for Karen's sketch and never got a chance to post:

I love making Americana type cards, I have one I will show you later that I have been working on made with the crimped envelope technique.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Sweet Thank You

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! Hope your week started out well, it has gotten so hot here the last few days! YUCK!!! I really hate the heat!

Today's card is made with the Sweet Sunday Sketch on Karen Giron's blog. I was inspired by the colors in this card made by Jodi Collins. I often look at others cards for color inspiration, I think that is one of my hardest things in card making, colors.

I used kiwi kiss and basic black and some DS paper from the Rockabilly pack and of course whisper white. The set I used is God's Beauty and is a Level 1 Hostess set in the current cattie. I stamped all the images in black pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Colored the butterfly and flower and leaves in with my aqua painter and ink from the lids of my ink pad, kiwi and riding hood red.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

2 Cards 1 Sweet Sketch

Happy Hump Day Peeps! Hope your week is going well.

Today I have two cards to show you, both done with the same Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge On Karen Giron's Blog, The Sweetest Thing.

I love to take a sketch and do it twice with different stamps, papers and accessories. it really shows the versatility of the sketch and shows off our DS paper so well.

First up is actually the second one I made, but my favorite. I used the Trendy Trees Stamp set and some kiwi kiss, riding hood red and basic black and Rockabilly DS paper. I stamped the trees with kiwi and riding hood red ink and used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the trunks. I used the three flower punch for my flowers, punched with riding hood red. I added silver brads to the centers and to the top corners.

The sentiment panel is stamped with chocolate chip ink onto white and layered with kiwi. The ends are made with the curly label punch. The center panel and sentiment are up on dimensionals.

This next one is made with the Cheep Talk Stamp set and I used the Good Morning Sunshine DS paper along with some Pacific Point, whisper white and chocolate chip card stock.

I added some of the fun corduroy brads in summer sun and pacific and some chocolate chip grosgrain.

The branch is stamped with kiwi and chocolate chip ink and the bird is pacific and summer sun. The sentiment is also stamped with pacific ink.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!

God's Beauty

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! Hope you all are having a great day so far, it is beautiful here in southwest Missouri. No rain in sight and the sun is shinning and temps are warming up!!!

Today's card is made with a fabulous new set that I just received compliments of my awesome friend and SU demo Lois. Be sure and check out her blog if you get a chance!

I loved this set when I saw it in the cattie, it is a level 1 hostess set. I have seen some really nice things made with it. And it sure didn't disappoint when I worked with it!! Really easy to make a GREAT card with! You really NEED this set! I suspect you will be seeing more of it this week!

I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout.

The card base is made with whisper white cardstock and is a 4-1/4 inch square. I then used some of the really nice textured black DS paper from the Rockabilly pack. That paper really does ROCK!!!

The center element is made by stamping first the leaves onto the whisper white piece with some pigment black ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I did the same with the butterfly and the flowers onto some scrap whisper white. I then colored them with my aquapainter and some ink squished into the lids of my ink pads. I used kiwi for the leaves and pacific point and baja breeze fro the flower and butterfly. I cut out the flowers and added them around the leaves by attaching them with a black brad in the middle. The butterfly is up on dimensionals. I pierced around the edge of the center panel before adding the flowers and butterfly. The center element is layered onto basic black cardstock and then more whisper white.

No sentiment on the front of this card, it could be multi occasion card, Thank you, Sympathy, Birthday, get well, thinking of you, best wishes and so on.

The black and white really look elegant and the pop of color in the middle really makes it a stand out!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

2 Cards 1 Sketch

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! The title of this post could really be 2 cards 1 Sketch 2 Stamp Sets 1 DS paper pack. But that would be a bit silly don't you think? LOL!!

I was greatly inspired on these cards by Debra Currier. Her blog ARTfelt Impressions has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I admire her clean and simple style. It is not an easy look to achieve and really is not my style, I layer way to much and add way to many foo-foos to achieve that style, but I do love it. So I used a few of her cards as my inspiration, just made them mine with a few more "things".

I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout on both cards.

I used the Walk in the Park DS paper and I pulled from it for my card stock colors, basic gray, baja breeze, kiwi kiss, and whisper white. I used the Stamp sets, Fifth Avenue Floral and Great Friend. I used some gray taffeta ribbon on one and some sticky silver rhinestones on the other.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
