WE LOVE VINTAGE CHALLENGE REMINDER - MALE

Hi everyone

I am here today with my Guest Designer reminder card for the Challenge themed 'MALE at We Love Vintage

As I said before, I know we all throw our hands up in the air in horror at the thought of making cards for males.  But I have found that if we have the right materials it is so much easier AND, they are definitely much quicker to make, once we have the layout and relevant materials to hand.

It is on my list of things to do to take a look properly at the new Pion papers which are new out, because they are just the ticket for men. ( available from
http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/ )  I think these are a must for quick male cards.

But for this card I found this lovely Vintage image in my stash (either from Kraftyhands or Cardmaker's Delights when they were trading) so I had my starting point.

Border Dies/leaves  - http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/
Papers from Stash
I used some of the rope I collected recently and washed thoroughly (and I mean thoroughly!) for the July Nautical cards.

I think just about everything came from my stash for this card to be honest.  AND, I can honestly say I enjoyed making this card!  I think I have found the key to making cards for male more easier.

It would be lovely if you had time to pop over and see the Design Team's beautiful work, and even better if you fancied taking part in the Challenge.  ( http://wlvc.blogspot.co.uk/

As always, thanks for looking today,

GDT - WE LOVE VINTAGE CHALLENGE - MALE

Hi everyone

Gosh, has it got around to August Challenges already!  Today, I have a card made as Guest Designer for this lovely Challenge Blog at We Love Vintage

The Challenge theme for July is 'MALE'.  Well my heart dropped when I saw this theme.  How could I be so unlucky!  Vintage Male!  But, it is surprising.  For this theme there are quite a lot of Vintage Car images and I knowPion brought out somepapers which are perfect for this theme.  I used items from my stash, but I feel sure the Pion papers are available from Tracy at http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/

So - onto my card

Border Dies  (and WOW they really are fabulous!) - http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/
Papers - JOY - http://noordesign-shop.co.uk/
Rope:  Live and Love Crafts

Shells - purchased locally.
It is hard to tell on the photo, but there is lashings of Ducth Doobadoo Structure paste added to this card (border die-cuts, leaves, rope, shells,)

It would be lovely if you had time to pop over and see the Design Team's beautiful work, and even better if you fancied taking part in the Challenge.  ( http://wlvc.blogspot.co.uk/

KRAFTYHANDS - NEUTRALS - POLKA DOTS

Hi everyone,

It is my turn to post again today on Kraftyhands Blog at http://kraftyhands.blogspot.co.uk/.

I chose to make a personal card for a male this time.  When I saw the 'Neutrals' polka dot papers pack ( http://www.kraftyhandsonline.co.uk/webshop/cat_950054-A6.html) and the lovely  Nautical topper it gave me a good start.   After adding a couple of Joy die-cuts and some things from my stash this really made for a quick card.  Really, I think the key is to find a good layout together with papers and image that co-ordinate and the rest could well be  (dare I say! plain sailing!

Take a look at  Kraftyhands online shop and I bet you will find lots of different combinations using this layout with their lovely products.

As always, thanks for looking, and have a great day!

VINTAGE BIRDS - card for a male Gardener

Hi all

As promised I am sharing a photo of the second card for a male which I made alongside the card which I posted on my Blog on Wednesday.  I carried the design to the inside in the same way as Wednesday's 'ONIONS' card but guess who omitted to photograph the inside?  Me!

This time the papers are  from  Noor Designs UK ('Fading Colours').   The die-cut is a Tim Holtz die. Again I adding cheesecloth.  It just seemed to lift it by adding cheesecloth.  The card candy was from my stash as was the wooden leaves.

The edges are inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink and I have added Frantage. Oh, the images were found on a freebie site, I am not sure which but it could have been Magic Moonlight. (????)

So, there we have it! So, that is my very brave attempt at a second attempt at making a card for a male with a Garden or Countryside theme.  Well it did make sense to do two this time as I know I need another one shortly for personal use.

Thanks for looking today,

CMD - ONIONS!

Hi all

You know what it is like when someone asks you to make a card for a male?  Well, my heart dropped, but I am always up for a Challenge, and I really did not like to say no this time, so off I went on my merry little way of struggle!  I was also asked for this to be based around the hobby of a Gardener.  Well, I looked through my images and stamps, and the only image that I could find that was anything like appropriate was a topper from Cardmaker's Delights with ONIONS as the feature. Blimey!  How does one make a card using an Onions topper! lol  Anyhow this is what I came up with.

The papers are a mixture from DCWV and  Noor Designs UK ('Spring').   The die-cuts are Tim Holtz and Cheery Lynn.  I could not resist adding the cheesecloth, and I found the little carrot buttons and the wooden leaves in my stash.

The edges are inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink and I have added Frantage.  That actually transformed it in my view.  Then I carried the design to the inside adding a pocket in which is slotted a Kraft Tag.

So, there we have it!  At the same time, I made another male card alongside this one.  I very rarely just make one card at a time!  I will post the second card on Friday for you to see.

Thanks for looking today,
