The Cat’s Out of the Bag...uuuh...Cup!

Friday, November 21, 2014

It's another Fabulous Friday at Tiddly Inks, and the Cat's Out of the Bag Cup...Tiddly Inks Stamps are Adorable!!! Wait till you see all the cards we have to show you this week! Here's mine:
I used the super cute Cup of Kitty image for my card. There is something about this little guy that just makes me happy! :~D  He is colored with Copics, and I used a white Sharpie marker to make the white dots on the cup. Glossy Accents is on his nose so it pokes over the edge of the cup. I love texture on cards, so I used a bit here with layers, stitching, an argyle embossed background, a decorative border around the image, and a few sequins. The sentiment is handwritten, and continued on the inside of the card.
I don't know if it would have been clear without explanation, but the rest of my handwritten sentiment on the inside of the card is a play on the expression, "The cat's out of the bag." The You're Purrr-fect sentiment is from the Chubby Chums Paper Smooches stamp set. More Copic coloring on the Set of Kittys image, a Glossy nose, some stitching and embossing texture, and I'm done. This was a blast to make!

As soon as I saw the Set of Kittys, I had plans for the set, and pairing it with Cup of Kitty was first on my list! I'm mostly a dog person, but these scruffy kitties are irresistible. Expect a card set using them, soon!

Be sure to visit the rest of the Tiddly Inks DT and soak up some of their amazing awesomeness! And, there's still time to enter the Tiddly Inks Remembrance or Honor Challenge, too!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a Purrr-fect weekend!

Chubby Chums Boxed Card Set

Thursday, June 5, 2014

I don't know about you, but I think my days are getting shorter! I have been so busy lately, I can barely keep up. Soooo, I'm making this post extra short! Good for you and for me. ;D

This is a boxed card set made using a Paper Smooches stamp set. It's colored with Copics. You can see it at Impressive Ideas, in Roswell, Georgia. I'm teaching it there this month. :-)

It has 3 adorable cards in it. I think this set would make a great gift for a tween girl!

Matching envelopes, too!

I counted...under 100 words! 8~) Short and sweet!

Thanks for stopping by, "Chums," and enjoy the rest of your week! ;D

Last card today, I promise! ;)
I have a great niece who is turning one year old, so I made this fun card for her. As has been the case all day today, the layout is from a Viva la Verve Sketch.
Here's a look at the inside.

That's it for me. I'll be spending a good part of the rest of today reorganizing my stamps. I'm switching to Jennifer McGuire's stamp storage method, and while I know I'm going to love it once it's done, it is quite a chore switching over!

Thanks for visiting my blog, and have a fantastic day!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge VLVSep2013, Week 2
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Use a Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Product (the Circle Border die and Happy Birthday sentiment are both SSS products)

Happy Snuggles!

Sunday, July 8, 2012

Hi Friends! Have you had a good weekend? My DD came away from her birthday party yesterday with a big grin, and she's spent the day today putting together her new Friends Lego House (finally, Lego came out with decent girl sets!). So, our weekend was great!

I hope you don't get tired of seeing new baby wall hangings. I've got another one to share with you today, and I still have four more to make. This one is adorable, and a little unusual, so I think you'll enjoy it.

I talked to one of my nephews at the birthday party, and he said he and his wife don't really care for pink and frills for their new daughter's room, so they are going with a forest friends theme, and are using reds, blues, and whites as the main colors. I had just bought a digital paper pack from Print Candee called Forest Friends, and it is almost exactly what my nephew described. Also, I just got a baby shower invitation from them, and it has the cutest little group of owls across the top, so the owl from Paper Smooches' Chubby Chums set was an obvious choice.

I used the Viva la Verve July 2012 Week 2 sketch for this creation, but I made mine square and used a twig for the narrow strip in the center.

And, the Color Throwdown Challenge CTD199 fit right in with the nursery color theme!

I colored the owl with Copics, used Glossy Accents for the eyes, and put Stickles on the beak. Then, I went outside and found a little twig to stand him on. I tied the twig with twine, but also used some Glossy Accents to hold it in place.

I didn't want to add any rhinestones or pearls, since it's a nature theme, so to give it a little more girly feel, I added some white cotton lace and some dangling, gold sparkly trim.

As I did for the last baby wall hanging, I decorated the back so I could use this as my shower gift card, too. The sentiment was created in Word, printed on a transparency, and rubbed onto the cs. Oh, and I got the sentiment from the book, Words to the Rescue 2.

This was so much fun to make! Now I need to find out what my other nieces and nephews will be doing in their nurseries!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have a wonderful week. :)

Birthday Fishes Tag

Saturday, June 30, 2012

Hi Friends! Hope you're having a great weekend! I'll be taking a little break during the summer from the Tuesday Morning Sketches DT, in order to spend more time with my DD, but I'll still be posting cards occasionally.

Today, I've got a birthday tag for a boy. Going with a fish and water theme, all the layers have circles, bubbles, or dots on them--including the fish!

I used this week's Viva la Verve sketch, rotated 90 degrees.

And, my color palette came from this week's Color Throwdown palette--perfect for a fishy tag.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge: Picture Perfect looks like it has water in the background, and I trimmed my ribbons to look like the little flags in the cupcakes.
Here are closeups of the ribbons and glittery fish:

Thank you for all your sweet comments on my blog recently. If I haven't commented on your blog in the past couple of weeks, I'll be by very soon. My daughter and I have had a couple of weeks of visiting family and friends, so my computer time has been very limited. But, I'm home for awhile now, and can get caught up. :)

Happy Bird-Day

Friday, May 18, 2012

Hello Friends! Well, today was the last day of school here, and my daughter is soooo happy! Truth be told, I'm pretty happy about that, too. It will be nice to just hang out around here with her, with no schedule to keep for awhile. I'm really lucky that my daughter is the type of kid who is fun to be around, so having her with me all day is a treat.

The card I want to share with you today is a birthday card for a child. Kids cards are not my forte, but I keep trying.

For this one, I used a new set of stamps that I recently won from Paper Smooches in a Simon Says Stamp challenge. I have wanted to try Paper Smooches stamps for awhile because the cards I've seen them on are always so cute, and with several kids parties coming up for us soon, I knew they would be perfect! Thanks, Kim! I love my new stamps!!!

For my inaugural Paper Smooches card, I decided to play along with the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge (I flipped the horizontal image upside down), and I used the Color Throwdown #192 colors.

The sketch was perfect for a bird on a wire-type image. I added the pink pine needles simply because I just bought the punch and couldn't wait to use it for something. :)

Isn't that bird the cutest! I colored it with my Copics, then added Sparkly Fluff for texture. I first used a light pink Sparkly Fluff, but the glitter in it made the bird look a little dirty. So, I added the darker pink over that, and loved it. That's Stickles on the beak and hat, and the eyes are a little googly with Glossy Accents.

I used an Our Craft Lounge stamp for the inside sentiment and the Abstract Flower punch was another recent purchase I was itching to use. Before gluing the white layer to the pink layer, I masked all but the punched area and used distress inks to color the flowers, then after gluing it down, I added Stickles for more sparkle.

I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back in a little while with a more masculine kid's birthday card.
