Fit Friday: January 10, 2014

My report on how I've done with my goals this week:

My health goals for this week:
1.   Bed by 10pm  -  Struggled, but was generally down by 10:30pm most nights
2.  Wake by 6am  - Struggled, but mostly because I have no alarm clock. A couple of times I got up on my own, even!
3.   Personal morning and evening worship - YES! Every morning for at least 30-60 minutes.
4.   Blogging - Yes. Whew!
5.   Keep up with meal prep - No. I didn't have breakfasts prepped, so our mornings have been dragging.  Was behind on a few dinners as well.
6.   Daily exercise (experimenting with that a bit this week) - Yes! All but one day this week I got in a 30-50 minute workout followed by 15-20 minutes of rest
7.   Eliminate bread from my diet (working on dealing with some addiction issues there) - No. Bother. I am still needing to work on breaking this addiction. Blah.
8.   Computer time limited to morning blogging and any spare time before bed - No. I find I enjoy checking in during my rest time or during dinner prep. I may decide to allow for that. Did well staying away during school and choring, though.
9.   Try three new recipes - No.  No time once I realized it was a School Week. Scheduled to try a new one tonight, though.
10. Stay on budget with groceries - I went over budget for this week's shopping trip. I did stock up a bit on seasonings and such, though, so I may still make it for the month. We did a couple of meals this week as leftovers that I hadn't planned, so that's helping stretch the food as well. I will be making a meal plan today for the coming week. That will tell me better how I did with this week's stock up.

I'm extremely happy with the amount of exercise I got in this week. I've been using some workout dvds that I've collected at thrift stores or people have given to me. I used a couple different ones called The Firm, and my body felt it!  Yesterday I did 30 minutes of pilates focusing on my stomach, buns, and thighs.  Yeah, I really do have those, apparently, now that I can feel pain in those areas!

Feels good to be getting stronger. I can feel it already just in how I go up and down the stairs.

Last night we loaded up for Family Fun Night at our YMCA.  When we got there they realized they were using the room for something so the exercise fun that was planned was cancelled.  We came home and had a dance party playing Freeze Dance with the little girls instead while the boys went out to our little skating pond to use up some energy.  It was fun and I was glad we spent the time moving and shaking as a family.

I didn't weigh myself since Tuesday, so this morning was a bit of pressure. I'm not sure I like that, putting all my sites on one day of the week. But, for this week, I'm happy with the results.

Down .7 since Tuesday putting me down almost a full pound since Monday.  Bonus: I'm officially down FIFTY pounds since starting with ETL!!!!  Really happy with that.

So, overall, I've had a fab week!  Stuck with my exercise and I think I carved out a good time to make it happen daily.  Still needing to work on kicking that bread habit.  LOVE that I've been spending time in the word and growing in my prayer time. It's making all the difference in how I spend my days and this week shows it!

Today is Picture Day for us.  We'll be taking our monthly photo of our progress to add to the collage I'm building.  I get excited for this day. I don't have a large difference to show, but I'm thrilled that every bit is being recorded.  Makes for great motivation too.

Looking forward to a strong finish this week with menu planning, a new recipe to try, a new workout to choose, and making a plan for our meal prep this weekend.  Good stuff!
