Daemon Prince of Slaanesh Conversion (part 2)

More work done on my Slaanesh Daemon Prince/Princess! I have now filled in the body section where the original model meets the Tyranid body, very happy how the green stuff came out, although I will be adding some armour bits to it as well. I also decided to make the six pack less pronounced in hope to bring a little more of a feminine look to the model...

The wings of course are magnetised, so I can have her on foot or in the air. I pinned them as well as using magnets to make the fit more secure...

My plan will be to add a tabard and armour plates to her to bring everything together and to give here hips, something like this! First though, I need to work out what to do with the arms...

The Webways are Opening! #11 Cronos and Raider Conversions

With just £5.06 of my Phase Two Dark Eldar £25.00 Army Challenge left to spend, I went in search of my last purchase. I already have a Haemonculus and a Talos, so I was thinking about running The Dark Artisan formation. To do that I need a Cronos, but the new Cronos models go for a lot of money, and there was no 3rd Edition model to fall back on. Just one option then, buy another old Talos model and convert it up with some green stuff...

Whilst I was doing making that model, I also stripped and converted up the final Raider I got it the last post. Really happy how these two are looking, and that is all my money spent and the challenge complete. I will post again showing you all what I got for phase two, then we will look at my list. Of course. I still have to get it all painted, but more on that to come too!

Just look at this amazing custom scratch built Thunderwolf I have for my army. I got this from Igot skills, and wow, he is amazing. It's going to look fantastic as a centre piece model in my 13th Company Space Wolves army, once I get it painted. The man is magnetised to the mount and he has three wicked head options! The Year of the Wolf (9)

Right, next up for the Space Wolves is my 13th Company converted Wolf Lord. I am pretty proud of this conversion which I did over ten years ago, as it was my first ever big conversion and green stuff work. I started with Ragnar Blackmain and changed his head from another metal mini I had, although I can't remember which one, and then added the back pack and wolf pelt. The green stuff work to make his leg into Chaos armour isn't the best job in the world, but I am sticking with it so that I can look back and always remember my first ever use of green stuff...

For the base, I will stick to the 32mm resin bases I am using for the army, but to make him stand out more as an HQ, I have added a section of a Rhino to the base to make it more scenic. Now all I need to do is paint him up and then I will have two troops and a HQ painted to go with my thirty Fenrisian Wolves, ready for my first game with a painted Space Wolves army!

Tyrannocyte Conversion Finished

Here is my final conversion to turn my old Mycetic Spores into a Tyrannocyte. It isn't too far off the original model now, so hopefully I won't get any complaints. Let me know what you think and I will will get it painted up soon...

Tyrannocyte Conversion (part 2)

Following on from my first post of converting up my old Pods to look like the new model, and I have done some more work on the tentacles on the base. I plan on painting the tentacles black with yellow tips, so to give me some extra colour to them I added a few dots for me to also paint yellow...

I then started work on the guns, cutting off the front sections of some Death Spitters and Barbed Stranglers I had. Adding magnets to the ends. I then made some green stuff sockets on the pod for the guns to fit into...

Hopefully these will look pretty cool once I have them painted up, and I plan on making a Venom Canon option as well...

Here is how it is looking at the moment. I am going to add a few tentacles to the sides at the bottom to finish it off. I think I will magnetise these on as well to keep storage problems to a minimal. More to come in the next update...

Tyrannocyte Conversion (part 1)

I have been spending some time lately converting up my old Mega Blok Mycetic Spores into the new Tyrannocytes. I have eight of these pods, and I want to convert up at least four of them, but first of all I need to work out how to do it!

First off all I got some 100mm bases from eBay, £4.00 for six, so not too bad at all. I then got myself a plastic tube, which was from the inside of a finished paper roll (till roll). I then glued the tube to the base and started work on some green stuff. I don't have a tentacle maker, so it was the old fashioned rolling on a table for me. I plan on revisiting them again and adding in a bit of detail, but I think they look pretty good as they are...

For storage reasons, I wanted to magnetise the pod on, rather than gluing it, and in the end, this also dictated me not putting tentacles onto the pod itself, well, that and I didn't want to have to repaint anything. One magnet in the rod and some green stuff to give me some support with a magnet on the base of the pod, and that was that bit done...

Now all I have to do is work out how to add on some guns and maybe a top section. Updates on that soon, but for now, this is how it is looking so far...

Swarmlord Conversion Done

Here is my little Swarmlord conversion I did on my old Hive Tyrant. The idea mainly came about when a very good buddy of mine Aceface, gave me some very awesome looking Bone Sabres he had. You can find Acesfaces's awesome Tyranid based Channel here, and I would recommend you give him a sub. This fella is all magnetised up, so now all I need to do is paint him...
