UPDATE: In a story reported by The New Paper this morning, Woodlands was alleged to have fallen into financial hardship when the tabloid quoted a source close to the Football Association of Singapore which claimed that the Rams were unable to show their financial plan for the 2013 S.League season. However, Tay rubbished the report and commented that all players, coaches and staff were paid on time throughout the season, suggesting that the Rams were in fact, in stark contrast to the earlier report, pretty much in the pink of health financially. Dear fellow HougangHOOLs,
Our fellow friends in Woodlands Wellington are gathering to rally support and create awareness for the plight of their illustrious club.
As per Hougang HOOLs tradition and founding principle, we stand in solidarity with our fellow like-minded S.League fans from the north, and once again ask our fellow Hougang friends to be with the Woodlands friends - like the legendary Hussain Razzak (leader of the Black Sheep) - to join them in the rally.
We the Hougang HOOLs want the Woodlands Wellington, and the good fans of Woodlands, to continue to survive, thrive and contribute to our Singapore football, our S.League, our community. Do not let any recent undesirable element within the club to deter us from that founding principle to stand by them, it's the right thing to do.
See you tonight at Woodlands, cheers!
On behalf of Hougang HOOLs

Rams show steel at comeback at Hougang

Woodlands Wellington shook off a disjointed first half-hour to take a share of the spoils off hosts Hougang United in a 2-2 draw at Hougang Stadium on Saturday evening.
It looked to be Hougang’s game for the taking early on, as they went into the half-time break with a 2-1 lead and plenty of verve in reserve.
But a second-half goal by Daniel Hammond saved Woodlands a point, giving them hope yet in their bid to haul themselves off the bottom of the table.

Match Preview: Hougang United vs Woodlands Wellington
By OPOD
Jia Hui Chicharito
Unlucky not to have claimed a famous victory against Tampines Rovers in their last game, Hougang will be looking for all three points this time round as they take on visitors Woodlands Wellington.
Only a controversial decision from referee Abdul Malik prevented the Cheetahs from recording a win over Tampines last Friday. It was an undeserving result though, as Hougang did well throughout with the Stags looking rather lacklustre under new coach Tay Peng Kee.
With forwards Mamadou Diallo and Jordan Webb firing on all cylinders, it will be no surprise if Nenad Bacina’s side were to win here and please the home fans who have been ever-present for the team this season.
Woodlands on the other hand are on a poor run of form themselves and have not tasted victory in the league for 16 games ever since winning their first two games. In their last fixture, they succumbed to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Gombak United and to make matters worse, Ang Bang Heng was shown the red card in that game and will sit out this game due to suspension.

Cheetahs blitzed Rams

The match attendance stands at only 688, but the atmosphere of the game was as electrifying as any La Liga, EPL, Serie A or Bundesliga game.
Dubbed by football enthusiasts as the “Noisy Derby”, Hougang United brought along the Hougang Hools to face the Rams of Woodlands, along with the Black Sheep of Woodlands, in a pulsating game.
Both teams are looking to restart their season with a victory, after both picking up one point from their last three games. Coincidentally, both teams’ last victory was against Geylang United.
Hougang started the game with almost the same team against Tampines, albeit for one. Sobrie Mazelan starts the game, in place of the suspended Azhar Sairudin. Jordan Webb, Hougang’s leading scorer so far, is looking to end his 3-game goal drought.

Woodlands fall at home after the Barac show

After starting the season with two wins, Woodlands Wellington have gone winless for five straight games, earning only one point out of fifteen available. A brace from Canadian winger Jordan Webb and a goal from Vidakovic gave Hougang three points, while Goh Swee Swee pulled one back for the home side.
It was a well-deserved win for the Cheetahs, who returned to their winning ways after losing to Home United and drawing last week’s match against Tampines. They dominated the game from start to end. Woodlands on the other hand, only showed glimpse of their early season form, and were poor throughout the ninety minutes of action.

May the better team prevail..and that was what exactly happened at Woodlands Stadium last night. Hougang United came on confidently in their away game against the Rams and showed their nice style of play to gain victory.
The Cheetahs were very much dominating the whole game with their first goal of the game was made by Jordon Webb on the 29th minute with a superb long shot. Following that in the 3rd minute of the second half, a penalty was awarded to the Cheetahs and taken by Jordon Webb where he easily put it at the back of the net of the Rams.

Both Hougang and Woodlands have seen their positions rise and then slide in the past few weeks, and after a string of unfruitful performances find themselves straddled within mid table. Both teams are separated by a single point, have had back to back losses and drawn their latest encounters.
What ever happens on Friday this clash would determine who goes up a notch and who stays put in the Great Eastern Yeo's S-league standings; and Hougang certainly cannot afford to be left behind.

In their opening game of the Great Eastern Yeo’s Prime League season, Hougang United beat Woodlands Wellington 2-1 in a close-fought match at the Hougang Stadium on Saturday evening. It was however, by no means an easy victory for the Cheetah Cubs of Hougang United.
Hougang who dominated the first 45 minutes, took a comfortable two-goal lead into the break with goals from Farhan Rahmat and Megat Hikal. It was Woodlands who started the second 45 the stronger side, as Danial Tan reduced the deficit for the visitors early in the second half. However, they just could not find that elusive equaliser as Hougang clung on for all three points.

League Cup: Cheetahs claim revenge to enter quarters

WWFC 0 - 2 HGFC
A brazen and convincing Hougang United side showed up at Woodlands Stadium on Tuesday evening to defeat hosts Woodlands Wellington 2-0 and claim a place in the League Cup quarterfinals.
It was swift revenge for the ferocious Cheetahs, who just four days earlier had fallen 2-3 to the same opponents in a surprise result at Jalan Besar Stadium when the two sides had met in the S.League.
Moon Soon Ho was the star on that occasion, but on his own turf he had a far quieter game as Hougang got the redress they might have felt they deserved.

Hougang United were on lady lucks gaze when the North-Easterners took home a solitude goal beating SAFFC on home soil. Carlos Delgado condemns Warriors to 2nd defeat in a week while Hougang United leap frog Geylang United and Gombak United into 6th place.
Hougang fans have now something to cheer about as the Cheetahs have recently developed an uncanny appetite for beating top teams in the S-League.

Hougang Utd edge out Woodlands Wellington in S.League
By Shamir Osman
SINGAPORE: If there was any concern that the close links between the boardrooms of Hougang United and Woodlands Wellington would affect the football on the pitch, the Great Eastern-Yeo's S-League fixture at the Hougang Stadium on Monday night laid it all to rest.
Seven yellow cards, one red, a host of crunching tackles, 1,600 spectators in the stands and the vigorous chants from the home side's fan club, ensured entertainment for all as Hougang ran out 1-0 winners.

Late Diallo goal edges Hougang past Woodlands

Hougang United left it until very late before grabbing the lead in their Great Eastern-YEO’S S.League match against Woodlands Wellington on Monday night at Hougang Stadium.
Fortunately for them, Mamadou Diallo’s strike five minutes from time was enough to send their highly vocal supporters on their way home, happy with the 1-0 win and the three points.
