John Wayne's Coolest Scenes #40: No Turning Back, "The Big Trail" (1930) (video)

With frontier scout Breck Coleman (John Wayne) gone, the wagon train begins to lose hope.

Evil trail boss Flack (Tyrone Power) claims Coleman has abandoned them.

But Coleman returns just in time to remind everyone why they must go on.

It's a big acting moment for the young John Wayne in his first starring role.

John Wayne's Coolest Scenes #39: Mistaken Identity, "The Big Trail" (1930) (video)

Frontiersman Breck Coleman (John Wayne) thinks he's greeting an old friend with a kiss.

But it's really a stranger, the very prim Ruth Cameron (Marguerite Churchill).

Shifty riverboat gambler Thorpe (Ian Keith) has unsavory designs on Miss Cameron.

And the two men clash for the first time of many.
