MTTC DT - Alice In Wonderland

Good Morning!

An awesome challenge theme for you over at My Time To Craft this fortnight with the theme of
"Alice In Wonderland" - Link is HERE

I have to confess that I'm a little to blame for some of the DT buying extra Alice themed images... I was only being helpful! :-D :-D

Anyhows, I've used a couple of images from Some Odd Girl - Link to store is HERE
I've had them coloured up for a while and planned to do two cards with them until my lovely friend stepped in and said "how am I going to make a wedding card based on Alice in Wonderland using cadbury purple?" Leave it with me! So here's what I got...

Even the font is Alice themed Font! it's from DaFont.com I think.
The images used are Alice Mae - Link is HERE
and Mad Hatter Kody - Link is HERE

Safe to say that both my friend and customer loved it!

Can not wait to see all your Alice creations!

My Time To Craft DT - Outdoor Sports

Good Morning!

What a lovely morning it is here.
It's another saturday so that means another challenge over at My Time To Craft.

This weeks challenge is

"Outdoor Sports"

I've gone with my favourite... Football!
I am a bit of a footy fan, I support 2 teams, have a season ticket at the one but watch almost any football. Any rugby, and motor racing, BTCC & F1. Basically, I'm a bit of a tomboy lol.
Anyways, onto my card,

This super cute image is from Some Odd Girl. Perfect for all those little tomboys! Unfortunately, the wrong colours for me lol. I wnated to go with something bright so the orange was perfect! You get used to using the same colours all the while. She has been layered as well. I drew/coloured the background on. It's okay for someat quick. The "You're a Winner!" is a stamp that I have in set with dies as well. Of course, I had to get some twine in there some where ;)

A longish post from me today. Hope you can come play along.

My Time To Craft Dt - Charming...

Morning peeps!

A little late posting this today. I thought I had typed up the post and had it scheduled... clearly not!

So, on to the new challenge over at My Time To Craft. This week it's

"Charming"

So add a charm. Whether its hanging by twine/ribbon or its stuck down with glue.
I love chrams but I do struggle with how to incorperate them in to my cards.

Here's what I've got:

The same as last week, I've used a Some Odd Girl, called Rainy Mae. I wanted a different colour scheme with this card. I'd got the sentiment printed already so wanted to use a colour scheme around this, so the blue represents the "Rainy Days" bit with the yellow representing the "Sunny Rays" bit. I then coloured the image to match with Spectrum Noirs. The part for the charm, I punched out nearly a circle from white card and embossed it. I wanted to emphasize the little umbrella charm hanging from the twine. And to finish off, a few die cut clouds and some pearls.

I still need to make these Morther's day cards! These are definitely next on my list.
Feel free to pop my the blog and play along.

My Time To Craft DT - Frame It!

Good Morning!

First post for me for a few weeks over at MTTC. With blogger/pc playing up and not being well, I didn't have a card for last weeks challenge but I'm back this week!

Over at My Time To Craft, we have the challenge of "Frame It!" and boy did I struggle with this!
I knew what I wanted to do but just couldn't get the end result, so I decided to try something else.

Here's what I got:

I do love these cute little lasses from Some Odd Girl. I think this one is called "Heartsy Mae".
I wanted a non-traditional looking lass hence the blue hair! LOL. I rarely use pink and blue together but it worked so it's all good. Mae is coloured by using Spectrum Noirs. And yano me, of course some twine snuck on my card! The frame is cut from the Spellbinders Nesties. I added some pearls and flowers to make the card a little more girly as I used my brick embossing panel for the background. Senitment is computer generated.

I do hope you can come play along. I'm off to hunt for ideas for Mother's Day cards.
I have 3 to do..... eeeek!

Traditional?

Afternoon peeps!

You know when you're just not sure about a card, like the placement of all the bits of paper and embellishments... I had this yesterday. Cut everything to size and die cut all the bits, got the ribbon ready with it's bow, went to stick it down... didn't like it. So chucked it all in the box n started again. Now, I'm hoping this falls under traditional colours as I don't seem to do traditional coloured cards?!

Anyhows, here is the masterpiece.. well...

Full Card
The only thing I kept the same was the layout! I've used a Some Odd Girl image and coloured her with Spectrum Noirs. I added a few highlights as well. Funny old pen that I used. I didn't think I had done it properly to start with then it just darker and darker lol. The snowflakes are die-cuts cut in half and stuck down behind the greeting. Some embossing and a load of pearls and gems and finished. #

Catherine....

Been a while since I used a SOG image, bearing in mind I have a folder full of them which are waiting to be coloured! Always the way...
So the image is called "Sway Mae" from Some Odd Girl.

Full Card
I have paper pieced her dress, shoes and bow but coloured in the stripe on her dress. The flowers are punched out of cordinating card. I resisted the ribbon and bow this time but I have used twine instead.

Mae
 Two challenges for this card:

1. Crafty Cardmakers - Paper Piecing
2. Creative Craft Challenges - Receipe - 1 image, 2 patterned papers & 3 flowers.

Geeky Mae

I absolutely LOVE the girlies from Some Odd Girl
They do fit pretty much any occasion and are suitable for any age.
The boys are very cute too :)

So, the card itself is for Fay, she has Gok style glasses and loves pale blue. Perfect!

Full card
The image has been coloured using Spectrum Noir pens. Fabulous. They blend so well. The "13" was printed and cut out by hand. It's the design to look a little rough around the edges ;)
The layout is from the Papertake Weekly Challenge which I'm entering this card into, Sketch #84.
I didn't think spots, stripes, gingham and stars would go but I'm pretty happy with it.

Here's a few more photos:

So hoping Fay will like it!

April Showers

These should be called May showers this year that's how late they are!

Anyways, as the saying goes "April Showers bring May Flowers..."
So here's my take on this saying:

Rainy days or Sunny rays

That's not the greatest picture to be honest.
The fence die I've had for ages and never really used it, until now. I need a grass die to go behind it though I think. The dotty embossing folder always comes in handy! Think that's my oldest piece of equipment. One of the first things I brought all those years ago. The sentiment, I made on the pc. It's hard thinking of sentiments to put on the front of cards rather than "happy birthday"

Depth
The image is a Some Odd Girl. I genuinely LOVE these images. Something fit for every occasion.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
1. Crafty Cardmakers
2. Oldie but A Goodie

Off to make a mess!

If I was a digi image....

... this is what I'd look like! ha ha... Claret glasses, short brown hair with red & blonde highlights/lowlights, not sure I'm that skinny mind and the colours of the Bhoys in Green! Oh, I'd have to swap the wine glass for a pint glass too ;)

Full Card
I didn't actually think the green & burgandy woiuld go but it does... I think....
Absolutely love these shaped cards purely because they are not square! Something a bit different. They are known as "snowflake" cards.

Close up
I'm entering this card into 2 challenges:

1.Simon Says Stamp - A Bit O'Green
2. I ♥ ProMarkers - Anything But Square

These are fairies are calling to be made...

Embossing!

Lazy Day Kaylee here today on a clean n crisp card.

The challenge I am entering my card into is the My Time To Craft challenge of "Embossing".
I have used embossing folders rather than use heat embossing. I decided on a clean and crisp card with a hint of colour. Luckily, I had enough purple ribbon!

Here is Kaylee...

Full Card
I have used 2 different folders and added pearls for a bit more detail too.

Ready for Summer....

... well, WOW! Snow in Feb?! What lovely British weather we have!

So after getting soaked at the football yesterday (my team actually WON! wahay!) I decided to make a bright card. Summer Kaylee had been pre-coloured, using pro-markers, all I had to do was make the card, so lime green and orange it was! The layout for the card is from the current Some Odd Girl Sketch - found here

So, here is what I came up with:

Full Card
I do love these images and the sketch, I'm about to use it again on another SOG card I've got to make. The black border is hand-drawn on as well :)

Image & Detail
Off to colour some more SOG's.

Valentine's

I don't "do" Valentine's if I'm honest, but I did get asked to make a card for it.

So here it is:

Full card

The image is from Some Odd Girl. I do love these images! Perfect for every occasion. The criteria for the card was "Black & Red, a couple on the front, the sentiment and roses". think I've managed to tick every box.

Black, White + One.

Another card using Alice Mae.. I'm sure there will be a few more over the weekend. That's what you get for having pre-coloured images! Takes a bit of time out of the making process though :)

So, the card itself...

Full card
Quite a simple design but yet such a versatile one. I will definitely be using this layout again!
The gingham paper and the glitter card is actually turquoise in colour. (I think I had too much light on the card). The black and white panel is a piece of linen card embossed, with an ink pad run over the top.

Image
 Challenges I'm entering into:

1. Mojo Monday - 275 Contest
2. Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Black/White + a splash of colour

Off to make another card.. might make a blue one as all the challenges are "January Blues"....

Red Head Mae

Ah, I'm doing well... 2nd post this week!

Straight into it then... How adorable is this image?! If you haven't checked out the Some Odd Girl site, please do check it out here. They do rubber stamps and digi's. Although not so sure you will be able to decide what to purchase! I always have trouble. They are just to lovely!

So, the card I've made I'm entering into 2 challenges, one being a sketch and the other being a theme. Struggled with the sketch, contemplated turning it around but changed my mind.

Full Card
Quite a vibrant card but looking at it now... not sure I like the blue gingham?! Oh well, nout I can do about it!

So the challenges:

1. Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch #188-89
2. Papertake Weekly - "Happy New...."

For the "Happy New...." I have used my new ultimate pro board to get the oval, new brads & new stamp. She is also a newish image.

Close up.

Enough rambling, I'm off to make some fairies...

Papertake Weekly - Ribbons & Pearls

Second post of the day then...
This time, our attentions are on the Papertake Weekly Challenge, which is :

 "Ribbons & Pearls"
… so all you have to do is include either / or or both somewhere on your card on project.

I've used both, plus some other details. I am actually pleased with the outcome. I didn't think the papers matched the backing paper but I works.

So, here is the card in question:

Totally love the "Some Odd Girl" digi's. They are soooo versatile. The card itself is quite simple but the details make it elegant. The Heart the couple are holding has been printed onto the same backing paper and has been cut out. The same with the girl's headband. Image has been coloured using promarkers.

Image

Think I'll be using this image again! You can find the shop here - Some Odd Girl

Second post done... on to the next.

Something New
