I'm currently being bombarded with holiday stuff, family stuff, snow stuff, and back-to-work stuff. Which means I don't have time for blog stuff. The world is so unfair!
I did get to go sledding a few days ago, though, and managed to kill my back thoroughly. But dangit-- I caught AIR off that jump! Lots of air! I took a can of Whoop-Ass to my brothers and FLEW!!! (Of course, there was that one run when my brother and I doubled... we rocked down that slope until we crashed spectacularly into the powder...)
And I have learned a New Truth... if you invite your step-daughter to go sledding with you and your family on a day that is Not Officially Your Holiday Time, you are apparently participating in ruining the Other Mother's life.
I just so don't get girl politics.

Other Mothers ... sheesh. Can't live with them, can't tie them up, gag them and throw them in your trunk.
I hear ya on the lack of blog time!
And ugh! to the poor mother with the ruined life. :-P
Well, as long as the step-daughter had fun, the other mother be-damned! Sorry to hear about your back but it sounds like you were totally-rad!
Other Mother didn't let step-daughter come with us. Instead, Jak spent the afternoon in her bedroom, avoiding Other Mother... who spent the afternoon crying that her life was being ruined. Sheesh.
Re: Sledding injuries. It just ain't fun unless somebody goes to the ER. Or needs to go but doesn't really want to leave the hill. On our second-best snow day all four of us were the walking wounded. Son had a bruised/scraped cheek where someone fell on him trying to stop him from flying down the ditch into the gully. Husband had large bruised knot on knee where someone hid a big rock under the snow on the sledding hill. I had sprained thumb (to go with sprained wrist from previous day's fun). And award of the day went to daughter, who had wicked black eye/scraped & bruised cheekbone/bruised goose egg on forehead. She was head-firsting down the hill and rear ended a kiddie pool full of her friends that had stopped halfway down. (the kiddie pool makes a great sled, which I did not know before..) And dang, she didn't even cry. We didn't know she was hurt until hours later when our faces thawed out and all the blood started rushing to her various injuries.
It was the BEST DAY EVER! Even though our Christmas pictures looked like an ad for "Fight Club 2".
Oh you just gotta LOVE other mothers! Luckily the Other Mother in our life is pretty decent. Occasionally though she gets dramatic. Our step-daughter just stopped coming around altogether so we don't have to worry about that any more. She's waaaay to busy to be bothered with us. Oh well. Her loss! Sounds like you had a way good time sledding! I needa go soon.
OK, I'm back. I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't meaning to hang out at your blog for so long! Just in case you're streaming. You just happen to read two of the same blogs that I read so I went to them from your site. Crazy that we both read blogs from people clear over in Florida and yet we live not ten mintutes from each other. Weird.
