Orange Empire Counts...

sat
36 Cardigan Welsh Corgi 9-20-(3-4)
Sunday
31 Cardigan Welsh Corgi 8-16-(3-4)

Not sure about the Specialty counts yet.... but I was pretty amazed at the difference between dogs and bitches. 4 points in dogs, 5 in bitches.

back at it...

We had our first agility class tonight after 3 weeks off... 2 for the holidays and the one previous due to weather.

Before class even started Kota had be freaked out. I took him around the yard...showing him the equipment again and such... he seemed like he was in heaven. SO in heaven, in fact, that he lost track of where his feet were as he was walking the dog walk and walked himself right off the top of the dog walk. *sigh* I picked him up - checked him out - and kept on going. He seemed fine.

He's getting better with the tunnel (Thank God!) and the weaves, tho he weirded out on me on the teeter tonight towards the end... he hit the contact and then bailed, causing it to make a loud bang behind him. I did finally get him to complete it successfully without help, so that was good.

He just really really really really really REALLY loves agility, and it's so cool to see him go. Anita (trainer) even said tonight that he was clearing the jumps with SUCH ease that he could easily clear the "big dog" height. :) We don't have any plans to do it, but it just goes to show how excited he gets about it :)

Kota's biggest problem?

me.

*sigh*

I'll keep working on it, and in the meantime, I've FINALLY got the name of the nice Border Collie lady who lives near me who has a bunch of equipment of her own at home.

She's got a GOB more experience than I do, so I look forward to working with her... and she's super nice!!! :)

On an non-agility note, Sedona came into season today and Chance is a pee-pot. *sigh* Crates are my friend. I'm just thankful that I don't work 12 hour days anymore! :)

Off to bed. Agility nights are loooong nights!
