Chocolate Cupcakes

We had the opportunity to be taught how to make some amazing chocolates by a friend in our ward. I was very impressed with how professional they turned out. These are two types, salted caramels and lemon fondants. Very yummy.

Also, since it was my birthday recently, I got these cupcake socks from Young Womens'. The socks are so soft and warm, and I loved how they are like cupcakes.

The SAC

At work the last little while we have had a bit of down time. So we finally decided to redecorate the room. We have started small, but this was long overdue. The bulletin boards and decorations have been the same for longer than anyone can remember. I was put mostly in charge because they think I'm the only one with any artistic ability. So I wanted to share this new sign I made with you, but before you see it, you need some background. We work in the Student Assistance Center. This is usually just abbreviated to SAC (pronounced like the word "sack"). Therefore, everyone calls us SAC ladies. We have recently hired a man, so he is the SAC man. Recently, a new trend has started with the students. When we are in classes substituting and a student starts misbehaving, the rest of the class starts chanting "SAC HIM! SAC HIM!" That means they will be kicked out of class and sent to the SAC. The SAC is where kids in detention go, or any other kind of trouble. But don&#

Going Away Present

Tomorrow is going to be my last day of work at good old Independent Study. It's kind of sad, but also kind of exciting and scary all at the same time. It's sad because I've been here for so long. This is the longest I've ever had one job, and I have made a lot of really good friends here. It's exciting because I will get to have a lot of time off to do whatever I want during the day! And it's scary because I don't have another job lined up yet. After 6 months of applying and interviewing, I'm still none the better for it. I was lucky enough to have one co-worker who cared enough about me and my departure to give me a going-away present. I don't really know why I'm sharing it with you, but here it is: This is the picture he used as a reference to update mine with: Any resemblance? It took him two days to create this picture. He said I was wise enough to become a General Authority. I told him I would have to be a man for that. So he decided to mak

Whoa, That Was Weird.

I had one of those, "whoa, that's weird" moments the other day. Nothing big or significant in any way, but still made me stop for a moment. So I must give 2 background stories first. 1. Last year we were at a volleyball game. We got there early, like always, in order to get our favorite baseline seats. Before the game started, one of the workers for the game came by and asked us if we wanted to participate in the serving challenge that would take place in between the 2nd and 3rd games. Of course I said yes. So he had to take down our names. He went one by one, and then got to me. I said "Gina." He said, "What? Janelle?" No... GEE-NUH! GINA He said "uh, Geenya?" WHAT?!!? Does that even make sense!? Whose name is Gee-NYA??? At this point I don't remember if I corrected him again or not. But, you should want to know that I did end up winning that serving challenge. I had to serve the ball over the net into a hoola hoop. I don't remember
