May 2020 12 Kits of Occasions

This month at the 12 Kits of Occasions Blog, Marcia Hill was our hostess and she sent the most adorable kit entitled “April Showers Bring May Flowers!” She challenged us to make our blogs bloom with life and flowers and COLOR!

First, my eyes went right to this adorable Stampingbella “Bundle Girl with a Snowdrop” and the amazing gingham paper!

I colored her with Zig Clean Color and Tombow markers and added a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Hello Friend” set.

I added lots of Stickles and Wink of Stella Stardust pen details, because she reminded me of a sweet little garden fairy! Oh, and some Glossy Accents to her blue galoshes!

Next up is this gorgeous patterned paper with the beautiful tulip bouquet in a Mason jar! It is from a set called “Mandy’s Flowers” by Simon Says Stamp. Again I colored with Zig and Tombow markers. I added a mini paper bow from Mama Elephant, one of the “Simple Little Tags” from Memory Box and a sentiment from WPlus9 Studio.

Last up is this gorgeous silver embossed floral image that Marcia sent. It is called “First Blush” by Penny Black...

I colored the image with Copic markers then cut it out with this “HBD” birthday die from The Stamp Market. I added a Memory Box Branch die cut and a little birdie from a past kit that I colored with Copics, too.

I added lots of Nuvo Glitter Paste in “Moonstone” on the flowers and the bird, and embossed PTI’s Hawaiian Shores” cardstock with Stampin Up’s “Subtle” 3D embossing folder.

Thank you SO much to Marcia for sharing these gorgeous papers, die cuts, and florals with us this month! Made my heart so happy sitting in my crafting room in the sunshine! Thanks to all for stopping by today! ❤️

25 Days of Christmas Tags- Day 16...my 26th and final TAG!!

My 26th and FINAL TAG for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags! On Day 21, Tracey featured inspiration from Lawn Fawn! I am a big fan of Francesca Vignoli's sweet style and was inspired by her sparkling pastel unicorn tag!

I used the robot from Lawn Fawn's set with Chibitronics called "Charge Me Up" and paired him with mini lights and a sentiment from Hello Bluebird. The top of the tag was made with a snow stencil and white texture paste. The robot was stamped with clear ink and embossed in silver.

The robot was colored with Zig Clear Color markers and a waterbrush, then covered with Wink of Stella pen glitter. The lights were cut from colored card stock then coated with Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter. The light string was cut from silver card stock. The snowflakes came from Lawn Fawn's limited edition " Snow Bunnies" set created for Simon Says Stamps' Stamptember.

Thanks SO much to Tracey, her designers and ALL of the companies and Design Team members for putting on a fabulous tag show for us! It's been so inspirational  and fun! Also, a thank you to all who visited my blog and left such sweet comments ❤!

25 Days of Christmas Tags-Day 7

Today at the 25 Days of Christmas Tags, Tracey is featuring products from Sunny Studio. I chose Leanne West's adorable "Merry Christmouse" tag as my inspiration.

I used Lawn Fawn's limited edition "Snow Bunnies" set created for Simon Says Stamp's Stamptember. I changed the mouse and cheese to bunnies and carrots, with a new punny bunny sentiment to match!

Colored with Zig Clear Color markers and a paint brush, so I'm adding it to Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge at the Daily Marker, too!

Wham! Throwdown

Sometimes an idea sticks in your head until you just have to do it! At this week's
Color Throwdown, the color combination of brown, moss green, orange, and cream, had me thinking of bears and puns (I found this one online)...

I made a card featuring adorable new images from Hello Bluebird, and my trusty "Milo's Alphabet" from Lawn Fawn!

Sing it Wham! From the 80's song "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go"... and the giggling bunny from Hello Bluebird's "First Snow" sealed the deal. The adorable bear from "Cocoa Party" stole my heart the moment I saw him!

I colored the images with Zig Clear Color and Tombow Dual Brush markers and a waterbrush. Die cut a circle for the sun and shaded it with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw. Added some Diamond Stickles, too, then brushed some Bundled Sage and Iced Spruce Oxide inks along the bottom.

I've been playing along with Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge at the Daily Marker when I can, and I am slowly learning to use a lighter hand (and less water!) as I layer colors 😉.

Now you'll be singing that song like George Michael all day! 😆
Thanks for stopping by!

Tiny Town

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog, the theme was "Art Journaling." I don't have one, and researched a little about them so that I could make a Christmas card inspired by journaling techniques. I love how this card turned out and had so much fun making it!

I decided an art journaling card needed these things...lots of ink, a cool background, acrylic paint,  book prints, collage type sentiments, texture, and some tiny "hand-drawn" looking houses and trees would be good in the mix, too! Check, double check! I used Neat and Tangled's "Warm Winter Scene Cover Plate"die and Hero arts "Star Light" cling stamp for my tiny town...

I used a mix of charcoal gray, red, and pink pigment and oxide inks on the background. I cut the houses and trees from Authentique's "Latest and Greatest" collection and roughed them up with some white acrylic paint snow. Added hills cut with a Lawn Fawn "Stitched Hillside Borders" dies and added white texture paste through Kaisercraft's "Snowy" stencil over the top.

Stamped a typed sentiment from Hello Bluebird's "Christmas is Coming" set in Versamark ink and heat embossed with white powder. Added a few Stardust Stickles and Wink of Stella pen on the moon. Popped up the houses and my winter village journaling style card is complete!

Thanks for stopping by!

Bunny Monday

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, in honor of their Stamptember celebration, the theme was "Stamp It!" I chose the Stamptember set that Lawn Fawn created for Simon Says Stamp called "Snow Bunnies." It's soo cute!

I made a background by brushing Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch. Splattered with water and made some windy swirls with a small wet paintbrush.

Colored the bunnies with Zig Clear Color Markers and a waterbrush. Added lots of little details with Nuvo Drops, Glossy Accents, and the Sakura Stardust and Glaze pens.

A snowy center cut with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border die, a white heat embossed sentiment from the set, and a teeny tiny glittering star to finish!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Toasty Throwdown!

I am so lucky to be the guest designer this month at the Color Throwdown challenge blog, and I just loved Amy Rohl's picks for this week...brown, orange, and light blue!

Warm and toasty, right?! So I had to use Lawn Fawn's adorable Let's Toast stamps and interactive pop-up dies...

I colored the sweet images with Copics, and added some silver Sakura Stardust glitter pen to the top of the toaster.

Used small sentiments from the set, then added my own addition of "marmalade" using Lawn Fawn's Milo's Alphabet" stamp set.

Lots of dotted papers from a DCWV pad, some mini hearts, and a little gooey edge for my marmalade stamp on the toast, made with Glossy Accents.

I just LOVE these colors together, and need to save it to my list of favorite color combinations!

Poppin' Sketch

I couldn't wait to use Lawn Fawn's Let's Toast set with coordinating pop up dies, and Karren's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches gave me the perfect opportunity!

Here is my card...

With a poppin' reveal!...

I made the sentiment with PtI's Headline Alphabet dies, colored in an ombre pattern to match that scrap of clear embossed houndstooth I had made a long time ago!

Colored the scene with Copics and added a pale yellow polka dot background stamped with PTI's Polka Dot Basics.

Added tiny hearts with Wink of Stella pen details and colored the silver parts of the toaster with a Sakura Stardust pen.

These dies are SO easy to use after watching Kelly Marie Alvarez's Lawn Fawn channel video on You Tube! Thanks for poppin' by! 😉

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 5 Inspiration

On Day 5, Tracey had a showcase of sweet designs from Newton's Nook! I was inspired by
Zsofia Molnar's adorable kitten tag with its red gingham background and scalloped sentiment panel at the bottom.

I couldn't find a cat stamp (I don't have a cat stamp?!), so this furry polar bear from Papertrey Ink's Holiday Folk had to step in. Also used Cornish Heritage Farm's Gingham Backgrounder.

The polar bear is embossed with white powder on kraft paper. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

The greenery is also from Holiday Folk, and the stitched hill is cut with a Lawn Fawn die. The star was coated with Glossy Accents.

Tomorrow I will post my last tag for this celebration, can't believe how prepared I am for Christmas! What a blast this has been...🎁🎄!

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 6 Inspiration

Day 6 of Tracey's Tags was all about Paper Sweeties! I was inspired by Debbie Marcinkiewicz's lovely black tag with the embossed white sentiment, holly, and perfect black gingham ribbon bow!

I used Lawn Fawn's Milo's Alphabet set to created a whimsical chalkboard greeting...with just the right number of fa las in a verse of Deck the Halls! 😋 Stamped then heat embossed in white.
I stamped over the entire tag with Hero Arts chalkboard background with PTI's Fresh Snow ink. .

I added the holly and mini snowflakes from Waltzingmouse Stamps' Very Vintage Christmas. A jingle bell seemed appropriate for the singing sure to accompany this tag.  So fun!

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 20 Inspiration

Today is Day 21 of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags, and she is featuring Lawn Fawn products! I chose Francesca Vignoli's adorable otter tag...I loved the buffalo plaid, snowflake, and colors.

I used Lawn Fawn's Love You a Latte set and Stitched Hillside Border dies.

The plaid is stamped with an old 6x6 background from Cornish Heritage Farms. Stamped the coffee cups and colored with Copics. Added mini die cut hearts cut with the Hearts & Stars die from Simon Says Stamp, shined up with Glossy Accents.

Heat embossed the sentiment with white powder and added a Lil Inkers snowflake. The Stitched Circle tag is from PTI.  (PS...I really want that otter set now, SO cute)!!

Cups Sketch

I love the vertical sentiment panel this week at Freshly Made Sketches! This sketch was a fabulous one created by Cecile Ribon.

I used Lawn Fawn's Thanks a Latte and Milo's Alphabet sets to make a card for my Starbucks-loving daughter Claire, who turns 13 on the 14th!

Stamped, die-cut and paper-pieced the cups with paper from Echo Park.

.

Added some hearts and Nuvo Drops, then stamped ❤ U A Latte on vellum and heat-embossed with white powder.

Adding this card to the Simon Says Stamp Blog World Card-Making Day Challenge, it's been a fun long weekend of stamping here!

Good Day, Sunshine!

This week at the Simon Says Stamp blog, the Monday Challenge was to make a project inspired by a  song. These Lawn Fawn "Hello Sunshine" images made me think of the Beatles' song, "Good Day, Sunshine." I was also inspired to try Jennifer McGuire's "Stamped-Fold Card Designs" shown HERE. SO amazing!

Not quite what I had pictured in my mind, but still cheery!

Here is a close up of my little flap...next time, I think I will go a little bigger like Jennifer did in her tutorial! Added PTI's Picket Fence die and Simon Says Stamps' "Artsy Flower Parts" to the scene.

Inside a few more images and a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's "Hello Sunshine."

The inside has some cloud patterned paper while the outside is stamped in yellow with the Gingham Backgrounder, an oldie but goodie from Cornish Heritage Farms!

I just loved this technique, can't wait to try it again...maybe tomorrow!

Time Out Challenge: Thankful

This week at the Time Out Challenge blog, the word is "thankful"!  What a great way to start the New Year, and a perfect theme for a Valentine's Day card, too!

Here is my thankful Valentine...

I stamped "Thankful" with Lawn Fawn's "Milo Alphabet" then used a "for you" sentiment from a Waltzingmouse Stamps set.  I used the teeny heart in the Milo's Alphabet with it, too.

I cut a window and a frame using Simon Says Stamps "Stitched Rectangle" dies, and splattered the black cardstock with different shades of acrylic paint mixed with water. Added some mini banners using My Mind's Eye "Love Me" paper cut with a die from Mama Elephant, mini hearts cut with PTI's Love Lives Here dies, and beautiful flowers from Reverse Confetti's "Garden Bunch."

Thankful for everyone that leaves such sweet comments every time they stop by!  :)
