Hearts a Flutter

It is Monday and we're going to pretend like it's Valentine's Day in August.  Can we do that?  Sure.  I said so.  :)  I have quite a few Valentine's Day stamp sets and I like to use them so last week I decided to make a little set of mini cards with the Hearts a Flutter stamp set.  I like them a lot, even though they're a little wild compared to what I normally make...

Get it?  Wild?  With the zebra?  I'm a dork.  :D  Anyway, I added some Canvas Corp. zebra print paper to the card bases with my Xyron 510, then inked around the edges with Distress ink in black.  The ribbons were added with my Xyron 150, and then I cut a slit along the spine of the card with my craft knife and tied twine by The Twinery around the front of the card.  The hearts were stamped in Stampin' Up inks, cut out, then attached to the front of the cards with foam adhesive (made in my Xyron).  These came together pretty quick once I decided on the design, and they'll be perfect to sneak into the boys' lunch boxes this year on Valentine's Day.

Have a great Monday!  Happy Stamping!

HI card

Hi! I made a card today using one of the Amy Tangerine embroidery templates. I thought the "hi" template would look great on a card.

I used the Happiness stamp set from Gelatins stamps. I liked the thin border stamp but I wanted to use it as a background so I stamped multiple times on the background of my card & alternated the acrylic block so the pattern was different.

Covered in Buttons!

This card is covered in buttons, but it definitely won't break the bank or send you searching for something in just the right size or color.  Plus you don't have to worry about shipping a super thick card through the post office and paying extra fees.  All you need is the Sewing Kit stamp set and inks to match your chosen papers.  I love this card!

I just chose to use one of the stamps because I wanted them to all line up like one the buttons on one of the papers in this Echo Park kit.  They actually looked a lot like this button, but way smaller.  I stamped these right onto my card base with Stampin' Up inks and then layered on a couple of papers and some May Arts ribbon.  That pin is by Maya Road and the sticker and paper accent are from the paper kit.  The sentiment sticker is by American Crafts and I got a few different kinds at Target.  They're pretty handy.

I loved the bright colors in these papers and combining them with my stamps and making a birthday card was a really fun way to use up some of my bitty scraps that I had left over from other projects that I've made with these papers.  Get some cards made this weekend with your gel-a-tins and scraps!

Love Ya!

Happy Friday!  I'm back again today to share a little card with you all.  This one was made with some paper that I picked up at that scrapbook convention this last spring (jeez.  How many times have I said THAT over the last few months?  You'd think I went on a major shopping spree there).  The paper is by My Mind's Eye and it is what inspired the card.  Let me show you what I mean.

That background paper reminded me so much of the Put a Cap on it set that I thought I should use them together.  I layered that paper on first and then put the chevron paper over it so that it wouldn't be the first thing you saw.  Then I added a strip of one of the coordinating papers with more stars on it and some grey to tone down all that color.  I tied a bow in three colors of twine by The Twinery and then I added my stamped and cut-out embellishments.

I love the colors in this set and when you combine it with these stamps it all looks adorable!  I can't wait to give this card away.  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for another great project and have a wonderful weekend!

Thank You Gel-à-Tins

Hi everyone! How are you all doing today?

I'm very sad to be writing this post, because... this is my final post as a member of the Gel-à-Tins DT.

I've had the most amazing time being a member of this Design Team. Jessica and Bonnie have been a dream to work with and have supported me every step of the way, and I truly feel that I have grown as a designer during my term as a direct result of my opportunity here. Unfortunately life just sometimes throws up circumstances where you have to say goodbye, and that time has sadly come here. I want to publicly thank Bonnie and Jessica for taking a chance on me and selecting my for the DT, and the to thank the DT girls themselves - they are a lovely, talented bunch and I hope to cross paths with them all again.

I thought I would finish up my term here by posting some of my favourite Gel-à-Tins creations, some old, some new:

First up, my first ever DT project - a super-fun tag featuring Chevron-Tastic. I named this set you know!

Next, an I Love You card featuring the Laugh Out Loud alphas:

Up next, my ombre card featuring Flutterby:

A couple of Polaroid-style photo frames featuring my most favourite set, Love Knots:

A fun and funky good luck card using the Zebra Print Background:

A fun Robin Hood-like card, using the Crackle Paint stamp as tree bark:

A yummy cupcake using the Sweet Hearts set:

A super-blinged out card using the Gelly Gems Roll-ups:

The SWAK mini set helped me pull off this awesome Pop Art-inspired piece:

And finally, my last card, using the Leopard Background stamp to create a moonscape:

I would finally like to thank all of you readers who have read my posts and posted comments on my creations. It means more to me than you will ever know. I am truly grateful for all things Gel-à-Tins and hope it won't be the last time we meet. If you would like to stay in touch with the rest of my work then please visit and follow my blog  *Fill Your Paper With The Breathings Of Your {Heart}*.

Thanks for the memories!! Love you all!!

Boldly Go

Hi everyone! So nice to see you again! :-)

I love finding other uses for stamped images and I'm at it again with the Gel-à-Tins Leopard Print stamp!

I thought the print could be used for more than just leopard print and came up with this:

I think this turned out pretty cool!

I stamped the print onto some pale grey cardstock and cut it roughly to form a moon surface!

I adhered it to some black cardstock and added some starry details with a glitter pen before adding an appropriate sentiment with some alphabet stamps and white paint!

Gel-à-Tins:
Leopard Background stamp

Other:

Journal Letters stamp set (Hero Arts)
Pressed Greige Linen ink (Clear & Simple Stamps)
Pressed Greige Linen cardstock (Clear & Simple Stamps)
True Black cardstock (Papertrey Ink)
Picket Fence Distress Paint
Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen

I'm looking forward to seeing you again when I next post! Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

happy tails to you!

Hey everyone! I'm sharing another card using the Cosmo Pups stamp set. I just love these cute little puppies, but the little paw stamps are precious too. There are 15 stamps included in this set!
Here's the card I made using two of the puppies + a sentiment stamp. I stamped the sentiment with Prima chalk ink in tin can, which is a lovely silver & it looks so good on the chalk label from American Crafts.

As always, stop by my blog today for more details about my card. Thanks for visiting today!

Pairing these two sets together made for a modern and funky take on the Star Spangled Banner:

I woof you [card].

If you know me, you know my love of dogs & this stamp set is no exception. How cute are these Cosmo Pups?

I made a simple CAS card with these stamps. I think this little guy in the lower right hand corner is adorable. I had to use him.

Be sure to check out this stamp in the shop & there's also another cute set with little dogs on it - Pet Shop.

I {Heart} U

Hello and happy Friday! It is Jessica again with another card for you this week.  I was pulling stamp sets out of my stash left and right to make this little guy and I think that the finished look is just what I was going for.  Simple, but fun and with a little sparkle :)

I know that Valentine's Day is a long time gone, but it's not like you can't tell the people you love how you feel about them any day of the year!  I was really just in the mood to make something pink and with some bling to it and all this stuff came together to make just that.
I started with my card blank.  It did have the scalloped edge already, but that isn't hard to do yourself with a punch or even some old deco-edge scissors.  I stamped the pink circle in the very center of the card (from the Sweet Hearts set) and then added the letters in black Staz-On.  The perfect thing about clear stamps?  I laid everything out first on the card to make sure that it would all fit on the front and I had it exactly where  I wanted it to go.

I stamped that black heart (from the Hearts a Flutter set) on a separate piece of cardstock and cut it out, then I attached it to the card with some foam adhesive made in my Xyron machine.  I inked the front of the card in pink, the back of the card in black, and then I ran a strip of gelly gems through my Xyron 150 and attached it to the edge of the inside of the card next to the scallop.

I felt like making something a little different and this card was just the thing that I needed.  I hope you've been inspired to mix up some of your sets and get creative with stamps!

Have a great weekend and be sure to come back tomorrow for another project from our DT!

Cupcake For You

Hi everyone! So nice to see you again! :-)

I'm back today with a fun card featuring the Gel-à-Tins Sweet Hearts stamp set!

I absolutely love the cupcake in this set and set about creating a mini gift card/tag with that as my focus:

I love how this turned out! So yummy!

I stamped my cupcake onto white cardstock and coloured it with Copic markers before carefully trimming out. I added some subtle glitter to the frosting and some Glossy Accents for all the hearts!

I kept the tag/card very simple and just added a sentiment in an awesome font before adhering my cupcake in place. Really looks good enough to eat!!

Supplies Used:

Gel-à-Tins:
Sweet Hearts

Other:

Strictly Sentiments set (WPlus9)
Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko)
Stamper's Select White cardstock (
Papertrey Ink)
Copic Markers
Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen
Glossy Accents

Pop Art Lips

Hi everyone! So nice to see you again! :-)

I'm back today with a fun card featuring the Gel-à-Tins SWAK stamp set!

I've been looking at famous artworks as a source of inspiration lately and decided to emulate a bit of Andy Warhol/Pop Art to come up with this:

So awesome!! I just love it!!!

I started with some white cardstock and punched out several squares. I stamped the lips on each square using a different coloured ink and heat embossed over the top with a clear embossing powder for that really glossy look.ink to create my tree bark effect.

I then used pigment inks to ink up the squares up the lips, wiping off any excess ink that went onto the embossed areas. I arranged and adhered the lips in an order on my card base, added a sentiment that seemed fitting and I was all done!

Supplies Used:

Gel-à-Tins:
SWAK

Other:
Say What stamp set (Mama Elephant)
ink (A:Muse), Versafine Onyx Black ink, Versamark ink (Tsukineko), Pure Poppy, Enchanted Evening, Plum Pudding inks (Papertrey Ink)
Stamper's Select White cardstock (Papertrey Ink)
Filigree Clear embossing powder (Stewart Superior)
Scor-Tape

I'm looking forward to seeing you again when I next post! Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Guaranteed Adorable

Nothing is more adorable than a newborn baby. A baby boy or a baby girl is the perfect reason to make these cards adorable using the "Hello" collection.

"Guaranteed Adorable" for both cards was stamped on colored cardstock using Archival Ink to get a crisp image  The gender signs on both cards are heat embossed.

For this boy card, I stamped the maled gender sign with VersaMark and heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder.

For the girl card, I again stamped the female gender sign with VersaMark and heat embossed it. This time using white embossign powder.

The next time you need a cute baby card, go ahead and grab the "Hello" collection!
